Quality Inn Harrison2.5 out of 5.0

I've booked this hotel a couple of times now, while working in Harrison. It's right off the main highway going through town, easy access to most everything, very clean, comfortable bed, nice pool. I also liked the feature of my room in particular, one door to the outside & also one to the inside corridor of the hotel. They provide free breakfast to their guests, as most Choice Hotels do, but it was really like a regular breakfast buffett.... hot sausages, eggs, pastries, yogurt, fruit, waffles, various juices, of course coffee! This will be my go- to stay when I'm traveling through that area or working.
The staff, breakfast and location are top-notch! Very clean hotel, comfy beds, could use some modernizing, but in no way needy. Janie and Thomas are always welcoming and accommodating. We usually stay for 6-7 nights at a time about 3 times a year so we're very familiar and we keep coming back!
The hotel room was clean and in good repair. The unusual feature of our room was two doors, one openned to the outside to the parking lot, and one openned to an interior hallway to the lobby. Water was hot enough in the morning for showering. Wi-Fi was fine, but would kick off my devices after about an hour of not using them and I would have to log back in again. Our room was quiet, no problem with noise, other than the standard in-the-wall-below-the-window heating/cooling unit that cycles on continuously to keep the room cool. Breakfast was nice with eggs, sausage, fix your own waffles, biscuits and gravy, juices, milk, pastries, cold cereal, etc. We had limited interaction with the staff, but it was fine. The outdoor pool was not yet open for the season, but it was full of water and clean.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel! It was clean, quiet and I had no issues with online booking. Breakfast was hot and delicious! The feature I loved about the hotel though was the fact that the lower floors opened to both the outside and inside of the hotel! I've never stayed in one that did that! I completely recommend this place!
My daughter, grandson, and I had to travel from North Carolina to Harrison due to my mother being at death's door. We arrived on a Monday. She passed early Tuesday morning. Being under stress to make travel arrangements, our room was booked a day too soon for four days through a discount company. When my daughter and grandson tried to check in to the room she had already paid $400 for, they were turned away. Quality Inn had re-sold the room and told her there were none left. To add insult to injury, they informed the third party that we had indeed actually stayed there. The third party was willing to refund the amount spent with a copy of my mom's death certificate, until they called this location and "Quality" Inn verified (erroneously) that we had stayed with them. She and my little grandson never saw any part of this establishment other than the parking lot and lobby.
After a long day on the road on my motorcycle, pulled into the parking lot of this Quality Inn, I'd make reservations ahead of time and glad I did as there was a motorcycle rally of sorts going on and rooms for 50 miles around were pretty scarce as I was told. The rate was very fair and the room was nice and quite. I was on the 2nd floor and it was a bit of a walk from my bike to my room. The property is on the larger size but fairly easy to find your way around. Walked across the parking lot to the Dixie Cafe and was surprised at the quality of the homemade meal. It hit the spot and I was ready to rest for the evening. Even though there were many bikes there, the place was very quite. Got a great nights rest. Definitely on my list of places to stay when I'm in that neck of the woods again.
We booked this place so we could attend a wedding nearby. The location was fantastic for our needs, the wedding venue was only 5 minutes away. We took our dog Max with us so we wouldn't have to board him. The rooms were a little dated but clean. The staff was very friendly and always busy. The breakfast was very good and they kept all the biscuits and gravy, waffles, eggs, sausage, boiled eggs, doughnuts and pastries well stocked along with a variety of juices and good hot coffee. Good digs for a Tier 2 motel, about $100.00 per night. Just 30 minutes from Branson, Missouri.
I have stayed at hotels all around the country and to my surprise this hotel is one of the cleanest and best kept placed I have ever stayed. The rooms are clean, the front desk is very professional and overall it was a very pleasant experience.
This is a nice hotel but seems to need a little work. We stayed on second floor no ice machine. No elevator. They have a good staff We would stay here again in hopes it is up dated Good location for on and the highway.
Years ago, when this motel used to be the Comfort Inn, it was a very clean and delightful place to stay. However, the management has allowed to this place to run down. Markedly, the carpets in the hallways and bedrooms are so filthy. They have not been shampooed in years so much so that there's a constant, lingering foul odor in the hallways and bedrooms. If your clothes fall on that carpet, throw them away ! Don't let your babies sit on the carpet and don't let their toys touch the carpet; if they do, throw them away ! I kid you not ! I blame the management squarely for this debacle; not the housekeeping staff ! Why? It is because both the linen and bathrooms were very clean. So, the housekeeping staff is doing all they can within the limits of management directives. The breakfast is still awesome and the dining area and lobby is clean. But walk down the hallways, corridors, and stairwells and you will find that the paint is yellowed, peeled in some places and poorly patched up. And, the doors can be repainted as well. It's like management does not care ! Another thing is that the fabric of the furniture in the rooms is also very old and worn ! If they are not going to be replaced, they should at least be reupholstered or steam cleaned, at the very least. The bedspreads should also be replaced as they are showing wear and fading. And just this advice for those who have a little difficulty getting around on worn knees or with bad backs, stay someplace else. One could be forced to climb up to four flights of stairs and through difficult doorways, just to get to your room especially towards the rear of the motel ! The TV's are relatively new but unfortunately the one in my room had a cable box problem. I could have overlooked this but the night hotel clerk was irritated when I told him about it. He should have offered me another room since there was low occupancy. Thankfully, my A/C unit worked well enough ! However, when I stayed at this motel, in a different room, earlier in the year, my A/C unit was terribly noisy. Actually, I have stayed in this motel many times, over the years, and watched it progressively run downhill. It's time that the management does something or they will not have my business again. I would like management to respond to this review. I challenge the management to make the drastically needed changes and let me know when I should return for another stay. Until then, I'll go down to the next intersection and stay at the newer Hampton or the Holiday Inn. Really, if not for the house-keeping staff, I would have given this motel a terrible rating !
