I will NEVER stay at Wyndham Sam Lord’s Castle again, and I strongly advise anyone else to avoid it. This so-called “all-inclusive” resort was nothing but a disaster from start to finish. When we arrived, nearly everything was closed. Shops? Closed. Activities? Closed. It felt like we’d checked into an abandoned property. For the price we paid, that’s absolutely unacceptable. The food was terrible — bland, limited, and downright depressing. To make things worse, food service completely shuts down at a certain time. If you’re hungry after that, tough luck. How can an all-inclusive resort lock guests out of food? On top of that, the hotel is far away from any other restaurants or food options, so you’re basically stuck with garbage food and no alternatives. Room service? Just as bad. Orders came wrong, cold, or not at all. The staff seemed indifferent and uninterested, as if guests were a burden. Customer service at every level was unprofessional and apathetic. And to top it all off, the air conditioning went out across the hotel during our last night. We were left sweating in our rooms, trying to sleep in sweltering heat. No apology, no compensation, no urgency from the staff — nothing. This place is a complete joke. Between the closed amenities, bad food, restrictive meal times, lousy room service, poor staff attitude, and even broken air conditioning, this hotel is a total failure. If you’re thinking about booking here — DON’T. Save yourself the frustration and disappoi

The Resort is very nice . There were many things wrong with the resort. The first thing when checked in they did not explain anything about the resort or what it had to offer, they just handed us our check-in receipt and showed us to the room. The Restaurants on the resort are very poor. The main buffet restaurant was always late setting up and always short hand and never had enough food to accommodate the guests. One day I asked for sugar for my coffee and was told they were out. There was a golf tournament with a lot of guests and they ran out food so it forced many guests to order room service like myself. They charged $25 to my room on an order of something that I shouldn’t have had with it being an all inclusive resort. The other restaurant you had to set a reservation far in advance and they only let you eat in there once. So you have no choice. The staff was never helpful and acted like it was a bother if you got one of them to help you. On July 1st there was a fight at the resort more like a brawl that lasted about a hour between two groups of families. They called security and the took a very long time before anyone showed up. The fighting continued and instead of the staff calling the police they got involved and they started brawling. In fact the staff from the buffet restaurant was outside watching the fight instead of providing service for the guests, had to wait on food to be made to be able to eat. I will attach the Video of the fight.

The property is very nice. But other than that it’s all. We arrived from our flight a little early and wouldn’t allow us to check in without paying additional fee. I’ve traveled to over 5 countries and never been asked to pay additional fee for checking in a few hours early. We stayed 6 days and our room was only cleaned once! And I had to ask for it to be cleaned and having to ask daily for more towels and our bar to be stocked. The food is mediocre. There aren’t enough food options at the buffet. The food was mostly mildly warm because they only use little flame candles to keep warm. There is only one main dining restaurant and always booked. The other restaurants they advertise are at the bar and beach. If you’re a foodie you’ll be disappointed. Only all inclusive resort we were still hungry at. The highly entertainment was barely nothing. The swim up bar hardly had a bartender. That was annoying to go to the bar to get a drink each time. I would NOT recommend this resort.

⸻ ★☆☆☆☆ Stay Dates: July 2–4, 2025 Wyndham Hotel – Barbados My experience at the Wyndham in Barbados was awful from start to finish. I booked a stay from July 2 to July 5, but I was forced to check out early on July 4 due to unsafe and unacceptable conditions. The first room had wet floors, poor air quality, and a strong mold odor, making it completely unlivable. I requested to be moved, and the second room had no functioning locks on the doors, which raised serious safety concerns. At that point, I had to request a third room, which still had air quality issues and a musty smell. In total, I was moved three times, and none of the rooms met basic health or safety standards. On top of that, the listing was false advertising — there is no direct or usable beach access, which was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. I spoke with Manager Shanice and the night manager, who were both made aware of the situation, but no solutions were offered beyond the repeated room changes. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I do not recommend this property to anyone. Expedia should review this listing immediately.

Beautiful views and a few great staff members, but overall, the resort needs serious improvement. It caters more to influencers and big groups, leaving regular guests overlooked. Service is inconsistent, housekeeping is slow and forgetful, and buffet food was often cold. Fine dining was a letdown—long wait times and overcooked meals, even with a reservation. We were also rushed to check out an hour early with multiple reminders at once. The resort lacks daytime entertainment and cleanliness in common areas. Not terrible, but definitely not worth the hype.

I travelled here with my boyfriend this past week and we really were excited about this vacation. Honestly, it was fine to stay for our first time in Barbados but if we were to return, we would choose a different property. To start, the location of the hotel is far on the east coast, where the water is rough and you can only go swimming in the pool. This is our own mistake and we should have read more about the location of the property. Given this though, I feel that the hotel should at least offer a shuttle or bus to the west coast— where we went for our beach days— which was about 22kilometers away. We ended up using PickMeUp, an app similar to Uber and spent $50 each way. The property was beautiful and modern but given the “beachfront” location, this would be essential in having guests being able to enjoy the property for pool days, but also have access to the beaches on the west coast for a day trip. The staff at the buffet were often rude and we would have to get their attention multiple times for a glass of water or silverware. The staff at the pools and bars were excellent. The resort was cleanly as a whole, there was no issues with fresh towels or room service cleaning the rooms. It was excellent. Lastly, we were unaware that we had to make reservations for dinner. The front desk did not let us know when checking in, and we showed up to the Castle View without a reservation. Luckily they had an open table.

The room was nice but could have been cleaner. Housekeeping was slow. Our second day on the resort, we were gone from 9am - 5pm and our room still wasn't cleaned. The next day we called to request our room be cleaned earlier in the day. There was trash in the hallways of the resort. Some of the staff were pleasant and a lot had attitudes.

Don’t waste your money or time at this property unless you are okay with a lackadaisical staff, zero customer service, subpar food, and a dirty property. The first 2 days we did not have washcloths. There was no immediate response or long response time to simple requests. I called 9 times to the front desk and housekeeping and no one answered! On the 9th try someone answered and was told that they (he did not say who “they” were) were running late getting to the property so they couldn’t give me a timeline of when we would have them. I finally called downstairs to my friend’s room and they grabbed the cleaning lady down the hall to retrieve what she said were the last three washcloths. When I left my room to go downstairs to get the washcloths I put the “do not disturb” on the door because I did not want anybody in my room. I was gone for 3-5 minutes. When I got back to my room there was a lady standing outside the room who had just entered saying that she put hand towels in the room since they didn’t have wash cloths. My first thought was “can she not read?!” or did she just disregard the “do not disturb” sign?! And 2nd, don’t bring me hand towels when I asked for wash cloths! We ordered food at the grill restaurant by the pool and had to wait over an hour for it to come out and when it came out, it was cold! There was dirt and food crumbs all around the pool, days at a time. Bathrooms around the pool were filthy. The buildings are dilapidated in areas and need repair!
