Gorgeous property! Attentive staff, beautiful rooms

This property is not as advertised. The room was not ready at check in. I asked for a different room. Even offered to pay for the upgrade. The upgrade on Orbitz site showed an additional $600. The hotel said they couldn’t offer the upgrade for that amount. Instead $6000 more. Insulting. The staff was not pleasant with towel service. My wife experienced cat calls from men staff. The staff at the coffee shop or pool side bar where constantly on their phones. Would be bothered if asked for service. The gym was antiquated. The room was not clean. No door handle on shower door. Water stains on roof. Stains on lamp shades and bedsheets of g*d knows what. The pastries where not ready in the morning when they opened. Still packed up. The food cost was astronomically high. The property is not a 4 star property. The ocean is rough. No lifeguard was on duty. Just a red flag. The elevator to the beach 6 flights down was broken. The beach side restaurant ran out out pina colada mix one day. It was just a ton of errors. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. I advised the hotel that I was leaving half way through my vacation and they said the room is paid for whether you stay or leave. I went to the Fairmont NOT BOOKED THROUGH ORBITZ. That property is a 5 star property. Excellent service, staff, amenities, etc.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. A true one of a kind experience. The manager Janine is also wonderful!! We will definitely be back:)

Beautiful setting, great staff, some buildings need an upgrade. I loved the ambiance and atmosphere of the property. My wife thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with Ms Sandra (supervisor building 8)! We will be returning next year!

Restaurants were overpriced for low quality food. Breakfast buffet ran out of bacon, and didn’t replenish it at 9:30am, really for $27 per person? Omelet station was in place, but no staff to run it. D’Orofios served eggplant parm with bitter skin on. Zen was good! Nothing to do on beach, they need activities besides drinking rum punch.

Seaweed was the only bad part. We realize its beyond your control.

Excellent hotel/resort. Gracious accommodations, beautiful views, excellent service, wonderful food. Love the "old style" décor, with hardwood floors, stone, beautiful shutters, gorgeous furniture, etc. Did not need air conditioning....just open the shuttered windows and enjoy the fresh air! Very relaxing, very classy, relaxed.

The Crane is a Wonderful resort. Everything was top shelf, with the exception of D'Onofrios. Really tiny salads and tge chicken caprese was improperly made. The other restaurants are fantastic as well as the grounds. The rooms are tge very best I have ever seen in any Hotel I have ever been! The staff is The Very Best!

What an amazing stay! The hotel has everything needed to relax and unwind. The views from the beach and two main restaurants are incredible. While the hotel does not have activities .... if the goal is to relax and soak up the sun then this is the resort for you.

The pictures taken of the hotel are from years ago, when the hotel was updated. The potential for this place can be so great. The views are beautiful, the beach is beautiful. But the grounds are dirty and old.

Wonderful experience . The rooms could benifit from revamping their air conditioner system and the restaurants need to have ample supplies for attending guests , but overall the stay was wonderful, the staff were exceptional and the entire resort was very clean

After investigating the challenges you reported, we issued fair compensation for your inconvenience. This information was sent via email, as several attempts were made to contact you in the room, to no avail. During this time, you departed the resort and we have no records of you formally checking out or notifying management, subsequently returning to the resort on the final day of your reservation. While The Crane did not seem to be what you were looking for on your Barbados holiday, we hope you will return to our beautiful island in the future.

Thank you for sharing. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us! With regards to Crane Beach, we have been affected unusually early by an influx of Sargassum seaweed. We are making every effort to mitigate its impact on our guests’ experience by deploying teams and machinery to clear the beach daily. We are also presently deploying a long-term boom solution to prevent seaweed from washing ashore It was our pleasure to host you and we hope to welcome you again in the future.
