We stayed only for one night and had to leave 3 in the morning to catch a train to London in Edinburgh. So our stay was very short and really it was just a place for us to rest (from hiking in Cairngorms), shower, and sleep.
The building is old but clean. "Old" doesn't mean "not good", it just means it has your grandparents' furniture and plumbing fixtures in it. So you might say it has plenty of "character".
We were on the second floor right above the restaurant so we can hear the conversations until late at night because we were there on a Friday when the restaurant was full.
