Internal City Area, Good Lake View, Hospitality is Good, Breakfast options are less, Swimming pool and Gymnasium. TV channels options are couple of only. Staff is helpful. Kitchen, Washing Machine, Fridge.

It was pleasant stay with prompt service by Staff. I had late flight in evening p post check out and the staff has made my waiting comfortable and they have given working space so as I could work. Overall experience was excellent.

Be careful when going out the Balcony if you are staying in Somerset West Lake Hanoi, lest you get locked out. This is what happened to me. Once I went to the veranda to have a breath of fresh air. And lo and behold, when I was going back in, I found oit I could not because the sliding glass door suddenly locked, for reasons I do not understand as one could only slide the latch from the inside. The only plausible explanation for this is an malfunctioning latch. Fortunately, I was only in the second floor and a lnother guess was passing by. I called on him and he willingly went inside to inform the staff. The security guard came out, looked at me and signalled to him what happened. He want back in. I thought they would come in to open the door from the inside. No one came. After 40 minutes of still being outside, amidst the strong rains, another hotel personnel passed by as the rain got weaker. I shouted on him and signalled what happened. It was only then that they came up and openned the door from the inside; after full 45 minutes of waiting outside in the veranda. I went downstairs and asked them what happened. How come the latch sufdenly closed. How come the security guard who first saw me did not anything. I was told, the security guard thought I was only complaining that rain was coming into my room. And they decided to check on it adter the rains stopped. What? Why would I go out just to shout at someone if my concern is raining coming in. I could have just used the house phone, right? or I could have just gone down to the front desk. And come to think of it, this is not the first incovenience, and a dangerous one at that, that I experienced. When I checked in at the hotel in the evening two days earlier, I sensed after watching TV for about an hour, that the room was dusty and that the sofa and carpet may not have been vacummed well. I am quite allergic to dust. So I called up the front desk to ask them if they could send housekeeping to vacuum my room as I am having difficulty breathing. I was told however that cleaning time is over. They clean rooms only from 9am to 4PM. Totallly without consideration. So the following day, I asked that they clean the room and vacuum the sofa and carpet well while I went for a swim. When I got back, the cleaning lady was just finishing up cleaning the room and went out. And gues what, the sofa and carpet were not vaccumed at all. So the following day, the same day I was locked out, I again called the front desk and asked that my rokm be vaccumed. Two hours passed by, one full movie finished, and no one came, until of course I called again to request for cleaning services. This time, I stayed in the room to ensure that it was vacummed well as I will be staying for another 24 hours. After my being locked out, the guest services manager or so was very apologetic. And as a modicum of making for their lapses, they insisted that I move to another (better) room and gave 6 apples (as peace offering?). So if you want to stay in dusty place and most likely make you locked out in the veranda, book and stay at Somerset West Lake Hanoi. It is so unfortunate that organizers for my meetinga in Vietnam and Laos chose this hotel for me to stay that weekend before flying to Laos after the meetings in Ha Long Bay.

Near West Lake and Lotte Mart, Pretty Gargen and Swimming Pool. but a little far hoan kiem. and so Quiet aroud. if you feeling Hanoi, this choice is not good. but if you need a rest, this is very nice place.

Staff great Tired apartment, needs updating to claim a 4 star rating. Maybe other apartments were of a better standard and we were unlucky. No blackout curtains so lights in bedroom were shining all night. Shower over bath, bathroom dated. Pool was unswimmable, brain freeze cold. No wonder no one was swimming! Compared to our other apartment stays all 4 star this rated a 2 in comparison sad but true.

I stayed just for one night and was very satisfied. Somerset Westlake has very good location. Condition of the apartment is also good, clean and well equipped. Will stay again. Breakfast is enough to start a day with udon alacarte menu.

The rooms were old and there were droppings on the wall and the floor. On top of that there was mold in the bathroom as well. The little amount of shampoo/soap that they provided was not enough and it felt cheap. Very disappointed as I’ve stayed in a lot of Somerset hotels.

Like other Somerset residences the rooms are large, comfortable and well appointed. It has big windows with lots of natural light which is great if you need to work in the room. Sadly the view isn’t great because the city is covered in smog. Staff are friendly, especially the front desk. The gym is very large and they have a decent playroom if you have kids. My only suggestion is to improve the breakfast which is lacking in choice, and not as good as other somerset locations in Hanoi and Bangkok.

Somerset West Lake Hanoi though old but they do maintain quite well. Room is exceptional as very quiet unlike most other hotel due to car honking. They have one of the Best Front Office Staff which provide exceptional services

Spacious room with well maintained facilities, not the best for 4 stars accomodation in town. Friendly receptionists, able to accomodate our requests to provide high floor room. You should not miss nearby breakfast places like Banh Cuon (rice rolls), Pho Bo (beef noodles) and many more. Go and grab morning coffee afterwards, a definite to go place!
