For a swiss hotel chain the experience was underwhelming. Check-in and Check out were a breeze however at check-in we weren't made aware that our booking did not include breakfast. Located in the CBD minutes away from the old quarter so not too bad. Room were nice and cosy but was expecting wow.
From first entry to hotel everyone more than willing to help, language no problem. Room very comfortable with every thing you could want all on hand. Hotel in a very good position as far as walking tours are concern and not far from places to see if you need a cab. Great stay.
My old office in Hanoi was situation inside the Movenpick itself and I myself had had coffee/drinks here a few times along with checking out the fitness area however only until me and my partner came to stay here last October that I managed to experience this Swiss brand hotel. It is unfortunate as I myself, know the manager here so I do feel bad rating the hotel only Average however the inexperienced staff made it this way - from the check in to the female staff leading us up to the room - first she let me and my partner wheel our own luggage without asking assistance and just assume we have to take care of our luggage. Then she lead us to the wrong floor of our room so we had to wait in front of someone else's room whilst she fetches the right key AND floor in the lobby. The room was spacious and nicely designed and location of the hotel was great for getting around without having the Old Quarter bustling noise. Upon check out, she forgot to refund the money taken when checking in and until now, my partner still doesn't know whether they had refunded this. The only plus was the doormen which was always smiling and helpful! For a Swiss brand known in the industry as well as it being Swiss - the country known for having number one hospitality training schools are in the world - the management really need to train and have protocol for their check in staff as this is the first impression.
My request for more drinking water was handled efficiently and housekeeping provided me with more drinking water the next day. They actually remembered and accommodated my needs. This hotel is situated at a very strategic location in the heart of Hanoi. Eateries and tourist attractions are walking distance away.
The room was good and nice. Bed was excellent This review was asking the same question several ties so please made it a bit easier and quick to came trough. Other vice you will not get many fulfilled reply. Thanks.
Staff - from front office to restaurants were all very friendly and helpful and this professional team of staff is a hallmark of a well run hotel! Pillows were not comfortable - there should be alternatives.
I have stayed at the Movenpick many times. It has a great location and offers all the services you would expect from an international hotel. Reasonably priced its rooms are comfortable and well appointed for a holiday or business traveller. Good restaurant and breakfast too.
We spent 3 nights here in February. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The room was quite small but the bed was comfortable. Slightly out of the old town but easy walking distance
The hotel is well maintained and the staff are friendly. Its located close to the attraction in the city. If you enjoy taking a 15-20min walk, you could easliy walk to Hoan Kiem lake and nearby attrations. Its less than a 5 min walk to the Quan An Ngon restaurant which is a popular Vietnamese restaurant for tourists, as it has a large array of Vietnamese dishes on offer. Rooms have all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, however there is no pool in the hotel. A small gym is located on the 3rd floor which is well maintained and equipped. Breakfast spread is also good. A good hotel if you're on business or holiday. Value for money wise, its good when compared to other chain hotels nearby such as the Melia or Mecure which is a 5 min walk from Movenpick.
Stayed here for 3 nights on business. had booked 2 rooms through the hotel website but the website does not allow you to put names against the rooms. Only mine being the person that booked. On check in I clearly had a confirmation for 2 rooms but trying to get 2 rooms was quite a task and so the check in took over 30 minutes trying to organise the second room. This was the only real hiccup though as the staff in general were very helpful and friendly even if they were a little disorganised. The rooms themselves were very comfortable and the location of the hotel is very good. Would definitely stay again.
