A trade-off - is a situation that involves losing quality of your comfort & tranquility in return for gaining instant Hanoi's atmosphere and town pulse. Walk or ride any local transport method (human/motorized) to reach any top rated restaurants or other recreation. we have spend 4 nights in 3 diff. times (went for tours around & used this place as base, leaving our heavy suitcase stored) - in this hotel and used 3 different rooms. the higher floor you go - less noise you absorb from the Ma May street. In case you expected pampered luxury in room/food - choose another one.

Stayed at this hotel for several days in 2 visits in our trip. The location could not be better, as it is in the centre of old town and everything on your doorstep. The hostel next door is noisy, but Vietnam wouldnt be Vietnam without the sight of snowflake travellers in need of a good wash. Adequate breakfast but the staff are friendly and welcoming. They need more English speaking staff, but they do try their best. Some rooms are a little bit tired and could do with updating, but value for money for the price. I would stay here again.

Situated in the heart of the Old Quarter, this hotel was clean and comfortable. There were 3 of us sharing the room so it was a bit tight for a Junior suite. The air condition worked well but there were no blankets on the bed. We did ask for extra and received what i would call un-stuffed duvets, which was on the bed in the first place. The staff was very nice. There was an incident in the dining room one morning as we were finishing breakfast - we saw a rat run into the restaurant. I was not amused. Breakfast which was included was very good.

Easy to get to from the airport, and located conveniently to our needs in the old quarter. The rooms were big and so were the prices. Stayed two nights for the comfort prior to our 14 day motorbike tour. Great staff and welcoming smiles, daily cooked breakfast and buffet. The door boys are very helpful and offered directions when needed. Rooms cleaned daily however life starts early in Hanoi and so does the noise. When we left the owner/manager was there to send us off with a thank you. Highly recommend a stay here.

I stayed here for one night as my first night of a Vietnam trip and it was great! Icy cold air con! The staff are really friendly and they were really helpful for my stay. The location is fantastic! Close to the lake and heaps of good shopping around. The backpackers next door is noisy but they stop partying at midnight on the dot and I fell asleep easily anyway.

Excellent location in Old Quarter so lots to see and do the minute you step out the door. Staff very friendly and speak English well. Was not impressed with having only one key per room, bad small in elevator, rock hard beds, no blankets, staff entering room despite privacy sign on door, seems the a/c thermostat was not working properly. Plenty noise all night from street below but not unbeatable and to be expected with location. Adequate choice at breakfast but NOT impressed with presence If a rat meandering through the dining room at breakfast scavenging for bits under the tables.

Stayed at this hotel 2 times and would say the location could not be better, right in the centre of old town and everything on your doorstep. Good breakfast and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Slight confusion between staff who mislaid copy of my passport however more communication between them is needed. The smaller rooms are a little tired and are in need of a makeover. Once this is done bookings will be a lot harder. I would stay again at this hotel if they carried out a decoration makeover of the rooms.

We booked through and had booked the deluxe suite after inspecting the photos (turns out that was a con). On arrival we were shoved in the dodgy back rooms with no outside window! Whilst the staff were understanding and sympathetic to our situation with nothing could be done to 'fix' it. You couldn't swing a cat in the room, the bathroom was mouldy, hot water was a struggle and only came through after you stood there naked for 10 mins and the bed was as hard as a bloody dining table! Staff were good, wifi good, location good. In the right room things would have been very different!

We booked this at the last minute and it was a reasonable price at around $50US a night. Breakfast was included and was very reasonable as far as food is concerned. The service was great especially Hien who helped sort out our transport to our next destination. The location is brilliant for seeing the thriving bustling old quarter. I think it's the party spot for young travellers. Heaps happening including bands in the street and other performances on the corners. I'd recommend this as a place to go if visiting Hanoi.

Well positioned hotel in the Old Quarter and for the price it's wasn't too bad at all but I question the intro on Trip Advisor as being new because it's definitely not. Our first night was spent in a junior suite with a good size balcony which we quite enjoyed. On our return trip to Hanoi we chose to stay again and we should've made sure we had the same or similar room as the smaller room we had just wasn't to the same standard. The noise from the backpacker bar next door was a bit loud on a few occasions but overall we enjoyed our stay here and the Staff were all quite friendly and helpful.
