Booked into this hotel for three nights . The first night we had a room at the front of the hotel and because of the location of this hotel in the old quarter it was very noisy. The next morning we upgraded to a room at the rear of the hotel . Only cost 15USD per night but well worth the extra cost .Do not book a budget room . The staff are very helpful and speak good English . Buffet breakfast is good with a large selection on display . Complimentary water , tea , coffee ,slippers ,toothbrush and shaver .

The location is a great downtown location not too close to the mishmash of bars (there is one nearby that is very loud and full of drunk backpackers, but isn't as bad as most hotels). The hotel has a good set of doormen, clean in the front, and helpful staff. The restaurant isn't great, but they go to great lengths to assist you. Something to keep in mind is that you'll be taking a lot of stairs here and the elevator is very small(this is common for Hanoi). Hotels in Hanoi aren't anywhere as nice as the ones in Saigon so lower your expectations and you'll be fine.

The location was very convenient to visit the beautiful ancient town. The room was clean, but the balcony was very small (only 1/2 msq). Breakfast was really yummy. And I like the fitness center. We couldn't sleep because cats shouted all night outside.

The staff at the Medallion were fantastic. The rooms on the other hand were tired and not very comfortable. The shower has to be run for at least 10 mins to get hot water (such a waste of water) so wasn't happy about that. That wasn't my room in particular, there is a sign in the shower that tells you to do that. When it did become warm it had then run out for he second person to use. The bathroom walls had mould on them and the fire alarm had been removed in the bedroom, not sure about the rest of the hotel. If you aren't out till at least 1am every night, don't expect to go to sleep. There is a backpackers hostel next door and all you can hear is loud music. They might as well have been in my bedroom. Also the doors have alarms on them and they were going off throughout the day and night as people don't shut their doors properly. So if you like to rest after sightseeing then this hotel is not for you. We stayed at the Hanoi Space hotel (which is a 2 minute walk from the Medallion and it was peaceful and quiet at night.

Went to the desk and asked about hot water. They sent a maintance person to our room who turned on all the hot water faucets. After about 30 min bairly hot water started to come out. When it was full hot i could hold my hand under it without hurting. I would guess it was about 105 deg F. Went back to the desk, the person behind the desk was playing on his phone, he looked up and I told it was unacceptable not to have hot water. He said that there was nothing the Hotel could do.Needless to say we checked out and when to anotherHotel. Don't expect good service or hot water and you will be fine.

This is a wonderful hotel located in the center of the Old Quarter so it is very easy to discover famous sites. There are many nice restaurants and bar nearby. We stayed here for 3 nights of which room was nice and spacious. Breakfasts were plenty with delicious food. We did a city tour through hotel and their staff did a good job in organizing the tour. Thank you to all staff at Medallion, hopefully we will be back next year.

Great and affordable hotel mid central in Hanoi. Close to the markets and restaurants. Also very helpful with organizing taxis and other individual needs. Also, the employees are friendly and ensures the hotel stays spotless.

Clean, spacious rooms that kept the noise out, yet near enough to food (stalls, cafes and restaurants) + shopping + pubs + drinking streets. Buffet breakfast scored a 7/10 in variety and quality for 3* hotel. Staff were always courteous. I'd come back right here in a heartbeat.

The staff was very friendly and extremely helpfull with everything we wanted to do in Vietnam. First we wanted to only stay the first 2 nights, but due to the helpfulness of the staff we decided to book two trips (to Halong bay and SaPa) with them and Medallion hotel became a basis from where we explored the area. I cannot express how well we have been taken care off during our stay (H. if you read this, thank you gain). Apart from this, the hotel is very well located in the old quarter and is really a really great place to escape the busy city. The breakfast was reasonably good. The superrior room is very nice and the suites are absolutely great. De beds in de suites are some of the best we have experienced in Vietnam (or in Europe for that matter). The hotel is not new and it starting to show a bit, but this is definitely still good value for money. And also keep in mind that there is a noisy backpackers-hostel next door that can be heard sometimes at night. I would recommend staying with Medallion hotel and also booking any trips with them is a good idea. They have fair prices and they will take care of absolutely everything to make your trip comfortable.

Great location in the middle of the bustling old quarter. Close to bars and countless restaurants (local and western) and walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake and all its surrounding districts and attractions. Although hectic outside - we found the hotel to be quite sheltered from all the hustle and bustle. The joining rooms to accommodate our family of 5 were spacious and maintained. Wifi throughout the hotel was strong. The breakfast buffet (although small - med in size) is diverse enough to cater for most appetites. Staff - friendly and accommodating.
