We are super happy with this hotel and as the saying goes the staff make it or break it. I would like to make special note of a particular member of the house cleaning and nominate her for "Employee Of The Month" .Her name is Nguyen Thu Ha. I had just had a mouth guard made at The Smile Centre in Hanoi when somewhere between the bathroom and the bedroom I dropped it and could not find it anywhere. I turned the place upside down so to speak. Between Ha's limited English and my non existent Vietnamese she found it and returned it to me. I would also like to say the buffet breakfast is great mix of Western and Asian foods which is rotated daily however the coffee and tea are terrible. I always travel with my own tea bags! The view from the 11th floor is spectacular, like having your own private sky bar. The pool on the 10th has the most powerful jets which makes for a great workout if you can't be bothered hitting the gym. The location is fantastic, close to the night market, beer street, the lake and great shops and street restaurants. If you smoke you can do so in an area of the 10th and anywhere on the 11th. I recommend for those ladies who like to wear cotton (Me) try the Made in Vietnam shops;also known by other names There are limited sizes and designs, but there are heaps of them. Check frequently as they are always refilling their shelves.
This hotel is very well placed for exploring the old quarter or the beautiful nearby lake. We stayed twice - our first room was small and rather noisy (low down at the front of the hotel) but our second room (deluxe room) was spacious and much quieter. The breakfasts were on the top floor, which has a great view over the city. The breakfast quality was good. We liked this hotel.
We spent 2 nights in a big double room with our 3 children. The room is big. The matelas is good. The bathroom is clean. As all hotels in this area this is very noisy due to night life and thin windows. The swimming pool was good. The dining was correct. Good choice for a family visiting Hanoi.
The hotel is like belt, the f of us good, the beds are comfy and the location is great. Lots to see and do within walking distance. The hotel spa isn’t good at all for massage but my facial was great.
Certainly good value and a great location. Staff in all areas extremely helpful and friendly. A credit to their employer as it shows how good their training is and how much they appear to enjoy their work. Guests included families, young and mature couples as well as guests who appeared to be business visitors. Walking distance to major attractions.
Stayed here in 2014 and obviously it has had a major upgrade since then. Much improved esp dining room and pool. Family occupied a panorama suite (about $170/N) Good arrangement with 2 bed rooms. Double rooms were fine. Breakfast excellent Pool was a bit too cool to use.
We had 2 separate nights in the May de Ville. I highly recommend the rooms with a balcony - it really had a WOW factor. We also discovered the 11th floor that had the most spectacular views! The pool area has a little French feeling, with the chaos of Hanoi as entertainment downstairs. The breakfast was really good too! The second night the room wasn't as good, but it was still clean and the staff were fantastic! We'll definitely be back!
Good hotel centrally in old town located. Friendly and helpfull staff, english could improve with some. Breakfast is not bad but could also improve. We arrived in the morning but had to pay the extra night for early check in. Our flight left late but we checked out at noon to avoid again being an extra night charged. We could however leave our luggage in a locker. In total stayed 5 nights. Rooms are nice and clean. Satelite reception poor. Small swimming pool on rooftop but not heated and def. Missing some attention... Extremely cold water, unable to swim while outside temperature was about 25C. Overall not to bad but sure for that price there are better places available to stay.
When the Soulman and his Misses arrived after a gazillion hours of flying from Joburg to Hanoi we were transplanted into the middle of a new unknown world - Hanoi Old Town! Man, the hustle and bustle was only surpassed two weeks later by the unbeatable chaos of HCMC! We stayed at this hotel which has an unbeatable location in the midst of Hanoi's old town. The rooms are a bit outdated, the aircon is rather noisy - this makes it "average", but the location and the attentive service of the staff at this hotel have far outdated this - that's why this makes it "very good". The breakfast on the 10th floor is fantastic and preps you for the day's action to come. There is even a lap pool on the roof although we did not use it as March is rather a very charming and not so hot season to explore Hanoi and the northern countryside of Vietnam. You will be superfine to go out and walk the neighborhood even at night and have the best street food, some of the best restaurants - check out New Day 72 Ma May | Hoan Kiem, Hanoi - and have some great markets literally around the corner. This is a very lively neighborhood and I suggest you ask for a room in the back of the hotel. Enjoy!
I & my KREC/NITK Suratkal Classmate along with our spouses were on a 6 nites/7days tour of Vietnam & Cambodia from April 5th to 11th arranged by M/S Rain bow travels Bangalore .We stayed in this hotel on 7th april. This is located in a busy business centre & ideal for shopping etc.The check in was a smooth affair as we had prior booking. The rooms were a bit cramped with small bath rooms. The complimentary breakfast was quite good with a well spread out menu.
