This hotel is right in the Old Quarter, a minute's walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, yet is delighfully quiet. Rooms are comfortable & well maintained. Staff are very friendly, helpful & efficient. The breakfast room has great views over the lake & a brilliant buffet. Rooftop terrace has same great views.

Perfect for: those backpackers who need luxury, couples and families Good: -location was perfect -rooms were clean and easy to use -rooftop pool was stunning wit fab views -fantastic breakfast -large communal area downstairs -friendly staff To consider: not a great place to meet people

I stayed for 3 nights at May de Ville Old Quarter hotel. This was a business trip and was booked by my company. A stay at the hotel has the following pros 1. Excellent location: The hotel is located near the Hoan Kiem lake and is in the old quarters, which means that it is easily accessible and there are lot of food joints nearby. If you need a quick bite, then you have KFC, Burger King, Popeyes very near. If you are a pizza lover, then Dominos is there. Also there are traditional Vietnamese hotels that serve excellent cuisine. 2. Rooms are nice and clean though size of the room depends on the floor. I stayed on the 7th floor and the room size was alright. 8th floor has larger rooms. 3. Breakfast is okay with lot of varieties. However for Indians and vegetarians, the choices are limited. 4. Since the hotel is located in Old Quarters, shopping is easy and one can roam around looking for quality stuff. Some of the negatives are 1. Hotel wifi is not that great. I stayed at Skylark Hotel earlier, and they had excellent wifi with speeds over 20 Mbps many times. 2. Breakfast choices are limited for vegetarians. 3. This happened to me so I am not sure if it is applicable to everyone who stays. When I booked the hotel, I was told that I could do a late checkout. However, on the last day, I was told that I have to checkout before 12 noon. So it became a rushed up matter for me. Otherwise the hotel is fine. One can live in an excellent locality and have a great time in Vietnam, as always. It is an excellent place and I think the hotel is quite good. At the price, it is good value for money.

The May De Ville Old Quarter Hotel is in a great central location in the old town, right next to the lake. We stayed in a superior room, this was compact (small) with no window but was quiet and clean. All the staff are great, pleasant and friendly There are great views over the lake and the city from the rooftop breakfast area, the breakfast choices were excellent. The pool is small but the sun lounge areas are very good. Would definitely use this hotel again, the position is absolutely perfect for the lively side of the old town. It’s a 30 minute walk to the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum

Nice hotel in the heart of the Old Quarters. Rooms very clean and comfy beds. Friendly staff and decent breakfast... Close to everything.... Must: try the famous Bun Cha...and enjoy a drink from the rooftop bar of the Skyline bar....opposite May de Ville Old Quarter Hotel

We arrived amongst the chaos of Hanoi around 5.00pm on Friday. Our room was good. Our bed was comfortable two king singles pushed together and the linen was two sets of singles lapped over one another. A bit uncomfortable and only 2 pillows one was hard as a rock the other soft as marshmallow. Took 2 attempts to get only 1 extra pillow. Our travelling companions had front room with building construction going all night. So bloody noisy. We stayed twice once before our trip to Ha Long Bay and again after. Once we got our bearings we found it to be a great location for accessing everywhere on foot. We walked around the lake twice daily. Staff were very attentative. Breakfast was ok, strange variety but always fresh. I would return if i visited Hanoi again.

Location wise it's great close to the markets and the central lake. It was fine for a couple of days, it's not 5 star but the price reflects that. We'd be happy to stay there again, the bed was comfortable, the shower good and it was quiet especially considering it's location.

The hotel is located in the middle of Hanoi old town which is a buzzle of scooters, scooters, scooters, all kinds of merchants, foods, electrical hazards, you name it. The May de Ville is nice and calm, but with nothing too special either. It is quite affordable. The beds are comfortable and clean. The buzz and noise of the street is a bit too constant though. Wifi is pretty weak. Breakfast is OK.... I would still stay again ...

Clean but outdated rooms and with the exception of a local rooster crowing early each morning the room is quiet in amongst the craziness that is Hanoi. Breakfast was good with a large assortment so there is something for everyone. The bonus of a refreshing rooftop pool made this a good value hotel with wonderful staff.

We had a balcony room facing the street, a bit noisy and room a bit outdated but very clean. The staff were fabulous and looked after us very well. breakfast and dining were the only dissapointment, roof pool area needs to be updated, Only a short walk to some great restaurants and the Lake, great value we enjoyed our stay.
