On 2 different days there was a roach in the sink. The room had a window but the walk directly outside of it blocked natural light. But I did have lots of light coming into my room @ night time from the hallway both through the fan & the cracks in the door seal (loose term).

Convineant hotel to staying

I book hotel for three night but I stayed two nights only. Staff very good & always try to help. During our stays that restaurant breakfast was very good ,balanced. Great location and best services

I and my sister have been for 6 days and 5 nights in Hanoi and Sapa. The staff at Mai Charming Hotel and Spa here took the best place of services. First start at offering us the most valuable tour in the best price. Took caring of our luggages and offering a nice comfort for us to take a shower even the day we didn't stay at their hotel. Full service of picking us from airport to hotel and hotel to the railway station. With the ticketing services. Staying at the hotel has been so nice. Vary and delicious breakfast are included with the affordable price. The room and stuff were clean and neat. Things were safe and sound here. The last thing was the best touring guide service. The staff was so nice. They never let you go out if you have no idea to travel. They are professional local tour guides. With their recommended attractions, local foods, ice cream, and coffee. You never be bored.

JERRY FRONT DESK GUY SCAMMED US! DO NOT STAY HERE

In our 4 month trip across southeast asia this hotel was by far the worst experience we had! Jerry the man working the front desk scammed us. We booked a flight with him through the hotel departing from our next destination and when we got to the airport he never booked our ticket gave us some made up confirmation email. when we called the hotel to get our money back he went back and forth saying he would refund me my money 1 month later and i can't get a hold of him and i never got our $275 USD back. BE WARE OF JERRY HE WILL SCAM YOU! other than that the hotel was nothing special plenty of other hotels in the area for the same price and better quality.

Definitely I will stay again in this hotel

I stayed at Mai charming hotel for a week. I have nothing to complain. Room was nice. Staffs are friendly and helpful. They are there for any need. I came back very late at 1am due to my other day trip and people were still there to open door and let me in. When my mobile phone did not work out, they let me use their phone without any charge. Breakfast was served with both Asian and Western styles. You can enjoy breakfast from top floor with night views streets. Jack - the manager was so friendly and he took care of every guest with warmest welcome. An extra nice thing the hotel offer is the excellent massage service with reasonable price. I would say you cannot go wrong to decide staying in Mai hotel.

Good hotel close to Old quater

The hotel is well accessible by bus number 86 from the airport, which has a stop at the Opera house. From the stop walk slow walking is about 25 minutes. The hotel has well-equipped rooms. Beware of most rooms don't have Windows! It is located close to the tourist attractions. Unfortunately, on a noisy street, and the noise from the street is heard in the room. Breakfast is good and the food is varied.

Horrible hotel

We booked into the classic room...it was horrible! We had a cockroach in our bathroom, the bed was as hard as the floor, our room (the whole 4th floor) smelt like sewage as it was coming out of the bathroom drains. They had tried to disguise the smell with a air freshener but it did nothing. When you took a shower it leaked all over the bathroom floor, so you were walking around in a puddle the whole time. There is no natural light in any of the rooms- because there are two buildings on either side of the hotel, unless you stay in a front facing room, there are no windows. The room was ridiculously small, we could only get on to the bed from one side, there's no space to put your luggage. There is also construction on next door building a new hotel, and they work crazy hours, so don't expect to get any sleep. After our first night we did chat to the hotel manager and he up graded us to a slightly larger room, otherwise we were ready to walk out and go to another hotel. We booked into a few tour through the hotel, MUCH more expensive than what you could get outside the hotel. Do not book tours through the hotel. Breakfast buffet was always empty, even at 7am. There was no breakfast really, so we ended having to get it outside all mornings. I wouldn't risk it, you really do get what you pay for. This is the capital of Vietnam, there are thousands of hotels here. Find another hotel and don't let this place ruin your holiday.

Best Staff Ever....A Work in Progress

The staff is what makes this hotel the best. They are updating the rooms and beds now. They need softer beds, new carpet in the hallways, and attention to paint and caulking and trims. Very Noisy at night but that is what happens in the center of the city. The nicest staff upstairs for a good breakfast. Would stay there again because of the staff. Construction starts at 7am and the honking stops late. Great for backpackers and the young. LOVE the people there

Never had it this good for the price i paid

Hotel staff is very attentive to your needs and you can tell they are genuinely eager to serve. Rooms are not the most updated, nor new but the size is really good. Breakfast is very very local, very good spread, and at the roof top, bright and great view. For the money i paid, it is more than a steal. It is my second stay in as many weeks, and will go back again for sure.
