I had such a lovely stay at L’HÔTEL du LAC Hanoi—honestly, it felt like one of those places that just gets it.
The location is hard to beat. You’re right near Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the Old Quarter, so everything is walkable, but once you step inside the hotel it’s calm, cozy, and feels like a little escape from the busy streets outside.
I’ll also fully admit that I completely goofed in my own planning and managed to arrive a full day late thanks to a time change mistake. Instead of stress or confusion, Daniel stepped in and calmly helped us get everything sorted, with all our arrangements rebooked and taken care of. It was truly above and beyond, and exactly the kind of thoughtful, human service that makes a place memorable.
My room was comfortable, stylish, and spotless, with a bed I genuinely didn’t want to get out of in the morning. Nothing felt overdone—just really well thought out and easy to relax in.
The staff overall were fantastic—warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful without being overbearing. And if you’re a tea lover, this place is an absolute dream. Every step of the experience seemed to come with a lovely, hot cup of tea, which somehow made everything feel even more welcoming and relaxed.
Breakfast was great too—fresh, tasty, and an easy, enjoyable way to start the day before heading out to explore Hanoi.
