I had such a lovely stay at L’HÔTEL du LAC Hanoi—honestly, it felt like one of those places that just gets it. The location is hard to beat. You’re right near Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the Old Quarter, so everything is walkable, but once you step inside the hotel it’s calm, cozy, and feels like a little escape from the busy streets outside. I’ll also fully admit that I completely goofed in my own planning and managed to arrive a full day late thanks to a time change mistake. Instead of stress or confusion, Daniel stepped in and calmly helped us get everything sorted, with all our arrangements rebooked and taken care of. It was truly above and beyond, and exactly the kind of thoughtful, human service that makes a place memorable. My room was comfortable, stylish, and spotless, with a bed I genuinely didn’t want to get out of in the morning. Nothing felt overdone—just really well thought out and easy to relax in. The staff overall were fantastic—warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful without being overbearing. And if you’re a tea lover, this place is an absolute dream. Every step of the experience seemed to come with a lovely, hot cup of tea, which somehow made everything feel even more welcoming and relaxed. Breakfast was great too—fresh, tasty, and an easy, enjoyable way to start the day before heading out to explore Hanoi. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Centrally located and convenient within the old quarter. The stand outs are the service and breakfast buffet. Every service member I interacted with was friendly and professional. Requests were fulfilled immediately and with enthusiasm and care. The breakfast buffet was a nice surprise. Great assortment of food at the buffet as well as food and drinks available to order at no cost. The selection changed slightly each morning so I was excited to see what was available every day. The hotel also contacted me before arrival and offered a driver service from the airport to hotel for a reasonable fee. We also arranged the same service to the airport when departing and this was organised seamlessly. Upon leaving we were gifted cute tote bags!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating during my stay. The reception desk provided instructions on places to visit in Hanoi as well as assisting in travelling to Sapa. Due to the typhoon at the time, travel to other parts of northern Vietnam were limited however the reception desk were able to contact the bus agency to determine the conditions to Sapa. Would book again!

Very nice to stay in this hotel.. will come for next trip in Hanoi. Clean and cute rooms, loved the rooftop bar, the staff was super friendly. For us, the highlight was the breakfast, better than all other places we stayed at. We still talk about it a week later! We enjoyed our stay very much. The one downside was that we could hear a little bit the noise from the hallway, but not too much. I would still say the place was quiet, we slept well.

We loved our stay here. Very walkable and convenient location. Great rooftop bar and breakfast which is included. Most of all the staff were amazing! Very helpful and went out of their way to provide the best experience. We left to the airport at 11 pm after checking out in the morning, and they kindly offered us a shower and chance to freshen up after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed only 1 night. The staff was very accommodating and attentive to our needs, and wanted to make sure that we were comfortable. We had a takeout on breakfast as we were being picked up early to start the tour to SaPa, and the staff ensured that we had everything we needed. Great location, would stay here again.

My stay at the hotel was beyond wonderful, it was at the perfect location, close to the lake, shopping, tour pickups, and the night market area. I went as a solo traveler and saftey is always my number one priority, the staff was super helpful in helping me understand which areas of Hanoi to go to, best recommendations, and making me feel comfortable in the stay. The room was so spacious and clean, I booked with the window inside the hallway, and it was so quiet, you couldn't hear the traffic at all. I really recommend doing a spa at the top floor, you will feel super relaxed in your stay. The buffet options are also super varied and have great dietary options for everyone.
