We were choosing between Sofitel Metropolitan Hanoi vs JW Marriott. I was slightly disappointed that we did not go for Sofitel. But for the price difference, I can tell why there is such a difference. The hotel was a standard 5 star hotel on the hardware, but needs improvement on it's software. As gold member of Marriott Bonvoy, we did not get an early check in. The room was not upgraded until I asked. A late check out was only given to us after a lot of fussing. The breakfast was a huge disappointment. Fresh juices were not available. I had to request 3 times to get a fresh orange juice, which should be standard for breakfast in a 5 star hotel. There was huge variety of food, but only 1 or 2 items were ok. The swimming pool area was like a sauna, there was no way to swim and exercise in that pool. It was our first time at the JW Marriott, probably our last time.
Enjoy the hotel here and I must say the food in the lounge is really awesome especially the Korean food. Next time I will make sure I have a longer stay here and will definitely make it a family trip.
As a Titanium member... 此次到河內, 用點數換了3間房, 其中有一間直接升等行政湖景套房, 很棒的待遇. 謝謝行政酒廊的服務同仁們 (e.g. Cinh, Quey and more staffs) Happy Hour的餐點不錯, 很是豐富! Great staying experiences that Hotel's staff (Chinh, Quey and more) provided to us. Use points to get 3 rooms and got a free upgrade to Suites on one room. The staffs are all very nice to visitors / customers at Club Lounge. Great food on Happy hour. **Suggestion: to provided more hot dishes in braekfast @lounge, if possible.
Huge rooms in a huge hotel. Highlight is the happy hour in the executive lounge, which is also huge with a nice selection of food and drinks. The only negative from my perspective is that the hotel is on a huge lot with vast landscaping but somewhat isolated from shopping and restaurants. Need a taxi to go anywhere outside of the hotel. Taxis are easy to get and low cost so not a problem, but not so convenient if you like to explore around your hotel.
We had loved our experience at JW Mariott Hanoi! The service is great and the staff is super attentive and welcoming. The room was beautiful on the 6th floor (executive lounge floor is so convenient if you want to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner). The room was clean and spacious and have a bathtub and shower. Also had a dinner buffet which had plenty of choice especially if you like seafood. The indoor pool is huge and nice as well if you want to relax. Highly recommend this hotel if you come to Hanoi! We'll be back!
Besides the brand name this hotel is exceptional. They helped us with tours, transportation, restaurant tips and the rooms are spacious, luxurious and well kept. A little outside the center but helps with the noise of the city. Quite peaceful
Not only is the hotel perched high on a hill beside a lake, it has spacious grounds and rooms. My room on the executive floor is both spacious and so convenient whenever I felt peckish and wanted something to eat or drink. The lounge access is long too as it shuts its doors at 11.30pm. Amazing. The rooms are very clean, super spacious and you can even soak in your tub whilst watch TV, perfect for an evening's wind down before heading to the executive lounge for some bites and a drink.
this was probably the best experience we have had in a hotel in 20 years (including Europe, Australia, Latin America, USA and Africa). Impeccable, beautiful, SPA, Gym, 3 AMAZING restaurants (Chinese, French and Japanese), a Jazz Club and the executive rooms are beyond believe. I traveled with wife and my 13 year old and took only one room; we felt incredibly comfortable. Now, the best part is the service.. everyone smiles, everyone wants to help you to have the best time of your life. The personnel are the best of the best. Thank you so much.
After the initial culture shock, I really grew to appreciate the service and dedication of the staff at JW Hanoi. The service recovery provided by Andy was really great. I really appreciate that. It was a nice touch for him to share that he is Chinese and able to converse in Mandarin with us if a touch of home is needed, since there were also Korean staff to service the Korean tourists. All the amenities are awesome. The jacuzzi and spa area is great and kept in tiptop condition. The staff comes in frequently to ensure the floors are not wet. The only suggestion would be to open the blinds so we can enjoy the lovely view of the West Lake whilst soaking in the jacuzzi. (The staff's response was that it is too hot if the blinds were open) This is also one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. The linens and bathrobe is clean and so is the bathtub, which makes it great for a soak after a long day at work. I did request for an upgrade to the lake view room so I could enjoy the lake view whilst soaking in the tub but unfortunately they were at full capacity. Shoutout to the staff at the executive lounge (Linh, Paris and all. Sorry I was unable to remember all your names). When I provided the feedback that it would be great if we had more vegetarian options at the lounge, Linh immediately checked with the kitchen to see if they have any eggs so I could have a filling meal. When I requested for ginger in my tea, they were able to add freshly sliced ginger as well, which was much appreciated since I am currently nursing a cold. It will be great if moving forward, there can be indication of which food selection is vegetarian as I accidentally took a bowl of seaweed soup without realising it contained meat. I will definitely be back. Thanks so much!
From check-in to check-out, breakfast to happy hour, gym to transport to and from the airport, front desk to concierge, I can’t say enough good things about this JW Marriott. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, despite the time it took to get near the Old Quarter for my business meetings (could take as long as an hour due to traffic, 30 minutes without). Highly recommend as a “home base” for a visit to Hanoi, as you will be treated well by all the members of the team; I was always greeted with a smile and a friendly “hello” or “hope you enjoy your day.” Thanks to everyone at this lovely hotel for making this trip all the more special. I will be back!
