Just finished a three-week vacation in Japan and Vietnam, and we stayed at six hotels. The Hotel de LAGOM was the very best hotel of the whole trip. Our whole family was very happy with our great experience with Hotel de LAGOM The staff is extremely kind and helpful, the food was great (trained, happy chefs), the rooms are very clean and well thought-out, and it's in an ideal location in Hanoi. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to visit Hanoi. I never write reviews, but this hotel deserves praise and recognition for what hotel service should be.

It is really too bad they pulled a bait and switch with me as the minute I stepped into this property I squealed with excitement, clearly brand new and felt more of an upscale vibe to it. Then this happened ..I booked and paid extra for, mind you. A double room with BALCONY and GARDEN view, the hotel personnel with the biggest smile on their faces gave me and upgrade ! How very nice of them right? No. A downgrade is what I received. No balcony and no courtyard view. 2nd floor facing the street . This would be fine if the selection I made wasn’t specifically for a balcony and courtyard view. The moral of the story, be aware of this and be ready to turn around at the entrance of room if they do this. The most puzzling part of this is what they said to me is it was subject to availability.. except if I paid for something very specific, it should be available right.?

Nice hotel shame about the misleading photos.

The hotel and staff are great they really do as much as they can for you. I do however have to say that the pictures of the sky bar on the website are totally different to what is actually onsite. Which I believe to be misleading at best. Basically none of it exists other than 6 x sunbeds and a couple of sofas. I have attached screen shots of website pictures that show something that is simply not there.These need to be removed as they are misleading. Higher management needs to deal with this asap. Other than that the hotel is good.

We had a great stay. Newer property, exceptionally helpful front desk staff, best breakfast buffet. I would highly recommend for Hanoi stay new old town.
