ive never seen anything like this and i travel mainly on budget. we were relocated here for one night from another hotel. fair enough how bad it can be, right? we recieved room at 6th floor although ALL rooms below were empty and in assumable better condition. ive never seen place this dirty (just see pictures i wont describe this any further). sink didnt have pipe and water just leak down on the floor in the bathroom, at some point everything went black and there was no electricity, it was almost comedical. stuff is very friendly but it doesnt change the fact that this place is unbearable. i think our room was the worst of all, and i dont understand why we were given this particular room when all other rooms were available, no f*** given apparently.

Our room was canceled at a nearby hostel. the lady bring us there. Very good location, room are ok, the morning we were late for taking our bus, the guy there was nice, he gave us our breakfast takeout Thank you

All I can say, Philip was an amazing host. Philip took us to a local bars and Vietnamese street food area, he even got his wife to deliver him home-made rice wine for our dinner since we were guests, he even paid his own portion even we were willing to pay his portion but he refused as it's an insult for a Vietnamese host. It was the best experience we had as I am filming and blogging my travel through Vietnam on Vietnamese cuisine and culture. Philip even booked our one night Halong Bay trip 3 stars ($117 CAD) which is the same price as every travel agency in Hanoi and explained about the tax fraud (so if a person say I will save you the 10 percent tax, there's no such thing). He booked our train ticket from Ninh Binh to Da Nang which was ($63 CAD). We rather booked though Philip and give him the commission than booking it online. He also booked our bus to Tam Coc ($9 CAD) direct than going to Ninh Binh which saved us ($3 CAD). Now about the hotel, the hotel doesn't have an elevator, so if you have a physical disability it will be an issue trying to walk up 6 flights of stairs, lucky we are physically fit. The room is big, clean and comfortable. The downside is the "airconditioner" which provides heat or cool air didn't seem to work as some of our friends hates sleeping in 12 C weather, little chilly. The bathroom is clean but the pressure on our shower head wasn't working properly, it is perfect if you are short and can squat under the sprout. Overall, I will come back to this hotel and support a small local business as his been an amazing host and his staff. My saying, "you pay for what you get" so don't complain.

Panda hotel has made the Vietnam experience unforgettable. Amazing hotel owner, Phillip, who organises everything. If you want advice, guidance or learn more about Vietnamese culture he is your man! I like the nightlife. Philip took us out to the night clubs in hanoi and it was super fun. Thanks bro. There are a lot of beautiful vietnamese women.

It cracked me up if they call the room I stayed a superior room. I was put on the 6th floor without the elevator, with outdated furniture, filthy dusty balcony, and non-working TV. They kept lying about TV should be fixed in any minute which had never been done. Their rooms were repaired in the most mediocre way like duct-taping the light bulbs on the ceiling, crooked bathroom shelves, sealing holes on the door with packaging tape, etc. Not to mention the towels were old and over-washed. (See pics) There was dust all over on the bed when I returned the room one day. The worst part was there were no bathrooms on the lobby floor and it was so disgusting to use their bathroom in room 101. It made me sick thinking about they prepare the breakfast in that room. You might want to shop around before booking the tours through the hotel. I found out that there are $3-5 price differences between the local travel agencies and the hotel. They are friendly to some local people who could leave good reviews, but not to everybody. It wasn't worth for money and was worst stay on my 2 week vacation in Vietnam.

More than once has the super friendly owner and staff helped me in rediculous ways. From laptops left on public busses that they helped me retrieve again to helping me import my dogs from South Africa. Ive been coming here 3years now and wil never stay anywhere else. Good price for what you get very close to old quarter and all the shops. Close to the main road so grabbing taxis are easier and faster then having to wait in the busy streets of Hanoi. Perfect location nice and quiet but still very much close to old quarter. English is also excellent and they really go out of their way to accommodate everyone.

We booked our 3 tours with Philip. He was very helpful and made a good deal. The tour package was just amazing, including some really nice hotels in Hanoi for the time between the tours to Sapa and Halong bay. Comparing other travel agents he made a very good price. Thank you for making our stay in Hanoi unforgettable!

We stayed at Hanoi Panda and we were very pleased with our experience. Chin organised our transfer from the airport, our tours and our buses. He was fluent in English and very helpful. We got a good price for the tours and buses that we booked. Chin also passed on local knowledge about good areas to eat/drink and places to see. The room we had was very large and comfortable. The breakfast was great, with both Vietnamese and Western options. The location was also great as it was quiet, but close to lively areas.

Although Hanoi panda hotel is old and outdated. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. It's in a perfect location. Walking distance to any food and market. Phil was very nice and very friendly. We will definitely stay here again! I highly recommend hanoi panda hotel if you are going to be in Vietnam. Phil is your guy!

Although this Hotel is old, it is clean and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Phillip runs the hotel, tours, arranges a good hearty breakfast and has a joke and a laugh as he happily helps you with all your needs. Situated close to the lake, Ma May and the Old Quarter, it is perfectly located. The aircon was cold, the water hot and the bed comfy. For us, this is enough. Loved our stay.
