I really wanted to like this hotel but was highly disappointed. We had a window view of the hallway, no biggie. The bathroom floor was wet, so I laid some dry towels down, no biggie. However, we were told that we had to buy our own hand soap when we found none in the room. On the second day we had no running water and had to call downstairs. The staff members were pleasant, but for the same price or less, you can find a MUCH better hotel with basic amenities.

When we arrived, we were told our room was ready, offered a welcome drink & a sales pitch to take their tours. We said we'd rather see our room. The atmosphere changed. We given several excuses why we could not see our room. Ultimatly, they admitted that a couple occupying our our room had decided to stay longer. As a result, we were required to spend the first of our three nights At Lucky 3 Hotel, a block away. We were shown a miniscule room. After much haggling were provided with a room large enough for us and our suitcases but without a window (like sleeping in a coffin).. The following day we were allowed to move to Hanoi City Palace Hotel. The room was beautiful and the air conditioning worked

A driver waited for us and picked us up at the airport. After arriving in the hotel, we were greeted warmly with cool drinks. The hotel staff was helpful in every way that I can remember. Street noise may be a problem for some people, but not a real problem.

I booked this hotel based on previews reviews and I did not find what I expected. Yes, the staff is helpful as you might expect, but the room was a disaster. Small room, tiny window giving to a hallway, broken bathroom that leaked everywhere and turned into a pool when you showered, old, smelly towels. Location is good if you want to walk around old quarter. Low to medium value for money overall

Good 3 - star hotel in Hanoi Old Town. Staff are very nice and hospitality.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hanoi City Palace Hotel. The staff was very nice, breakfast was good and the location is great. The building appears to be an older, renovated French hotel. It was close to some of the best sites-easy 10-15 minute walk.

I was in Hanoi for business and spent several days at the hotel. Every time I stepped out of my room, each member of the staff who met me said hello and asked how I was. At 8:30 on Saturday night I found that I needed to be in Cambodia Sunday evening for a customer meeting. All travel agents were closed and the Vietnam Airlines web site showed no seats available on any Sunday flights. I asked for help at the front desk and within ten minutes the clerk had tracked down a friend who works for Vietnam Airlines and had confirmed tickets for the 6:30AM Sunday flight from Hanoi. This is the kind of service that makes me return to hotels and I will use the Hanoi Elegance 3 on all future trips to Hanoi.

The staff made us feel like family! I wanted to hug them when we left. They gave us all sorts of tips and made reservations. They greeted us warmly and were extremely attentive and talkative. I will never forget the experience here versus the experience at so many other hotels where I felt invisible. This was, perhaps, the best hotel I've visited around the world in terms of room, service, friendliness!!!!
