Hanoi Emotion Hotel

We stayed for two nights during our recent visit to Hanoi. Whilst staff were helpful and pleasant, we wouldn’t stay again. Mostly because the location is just a bit too far from the centre of everything. We walked each day, however it would have been more convenient to stay closer to ‘the lake’. Breakfast is fine, although the breakfast room becomes very Smokey in the mornings when they don’t open windows. The bed, like many in Vietnam, was very hard. However our bed at this hotel was the winner for the hardest for our two week stay in the country! Our bathroom was also a strange set up and the shower leaked out into the bedroom.

We stayed at the Hanoi Emotion for 2 non-consecutive nights and found it to be a great value, very clean and comfortable hotel for a family of 3. Be aware that it can be difficult to locate. Even our driver struggled. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My one criticism was the breakfast buffet which was OK but nothing to get excited about.

This is a lovely hotel superbly placed for city sightseeing. Very close to the ancient Confucious university... and not far from the old town. Comfortable rooms in the traditional size, baths, with shower. Excellent all-day dining and friendly staff. Recommended.

We recently spent 3 nights at the emotion hotel (2 adults and 2 teenagers). We can highly recommend it. The staff are super helpful especially the concierge/tour organizer who was particularly helpful. The hotel is clean and modern. Rooms (and bathrooms) were very well appointed. Only downside was the noise of other guests opening and closing their doors as this seemed to travel. Buffet breakfast was good. Location is great as it felt that you stepped out of your modern hotel but a few steps away you would find yourself in real hanoi lanes and alleys rather than a tourist interpretation. We felt safe at all times. It was a 15/20 min drive into the 'old quarter' with fares between 30k - 100k depending on time of day and traffic etc. Short walk from the temple of literature and 20 min walk through very interesting alleys to the b52 Lake. There are hundreds of hotels in hanoi but we would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Hanoi Emotion Hotel during a four-day visit to Vietnam. It might not look much at first sight, but the hotel has a lot to offer especially for the budget-conscious tourist. 1) Location This was the first thing I considered when I looked for a hotel. Quite frankly, I was happy with my choice. Conveniently located along the inconspicuous Hang Bot street at Dong Da district, the hotel is only a short Uber or motorbike ride to most tiurist attractions, shopping malls, and the Old Quarter. The immediate vicinity is also packed with convenience stores, restaurants and pubs. Personally, I prefer this area over the Old Quarter, as it is way less crowded. 2) Cleanliness and ambience Although I've read a couple of negative reviews about these, I have no complaints with regards to my experience. It's not exactly a five-star hotel, but the decorations a decent and housekeeping do an incredibly good job in maintaining the place. 3) Excellent staff and service You've read this in other reviews, and I am saying it again: Hanoi Emotion Hotel's staff are very friendly and helpful. The language barrier might be a problem for some tourists, but the staff go to great lengths to help guests. Overall, I would recommend Hanoi Emotion Hotel to those who are looking for clean, reasonably priced accomodation and excellent service. Enjoy your trip!

Noise is extremely high both from the street and from other guests. If your neighbor get us at 6 am so will you. Bugs are a real problem in the rooms, breakfast does not have fresh food at all. I spend a few days here and I do not recommend it. Good if you only care about the low price but bad quality overall. Staff tries to be helpful but especially at the restaurant nobody speaks English. There are better choices in Hanoi for this price than this hotel.

A great location in a quiet part of the old quarter but a few minutes walk brings you to the Literature of temple, Pillar pagoda, Quan Thanh pagoda and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum… hustle and bustle of this crazy part of the city. For a little more peaceful walk, go around the west lake in the evening and watch people dancing or just enjoying the quiet evening. The staff at the hotel were wonderful, they were so helpful, friendly and caring. The hotel is more attractive with some beautiful painting at Lobby. And one more thing I recommend: If you have the chance, visit the Fine Art Museum about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It is a magical experience.

I loved my experience here at Hanoi Emotion Hotel. It began with quick contact from the staff as soon as I booked the stay. The communicate started with recommendations as to how to get to the place and what to do. A few emails to confirm some things and I felt completely at ease that I did not have to worry about a thing as soon as I was out of the airport. I was not disappointed. Easy pick up from the airport and about a 30-45 minute drive (doesn't feel that long). I loved being in the middle of all the action. I just had to step out, and I was where I wanted to be. Prior to my arrival, I signed up for some offerings. A trip to Ha Long Bay and a Food Tour in Hanoi. Both were lovely. Staff ensured that I did not make the mistake (that I almost did) of settling for a day trip in Ha Long Bay - It would have been dreadful and tiring. Instead they found a great deal with a lovely cruise boat. The food tour that I have recommended to anyone I have met was an absolute delight - thank you, KEVIN!!! You will discover places that you would not know existed even if you walked 5 feet past. The staff made the stay extremely pleasurable. Everyone was so sweet and helpful. I was sad to leave. I would not hesitate to recommend the place.

We were given the key and the room was not made up. It ended up with an argument because the beds were not changed (!!!!) and the floor not wiped and so on ... The place could be much cleaner. The view is terrible ... Service at the restaurant is really poor. Whatever you might ask nobody understands English or any other language than Vietnamese. The staff is very young and untrained. Tables are dirty ... The quality of food is poor, tea and coffee are not hot. Set dinner was the worst in a fortnight: quantity and quality can greatly improve.

We booked a 7 day tour with this hotel that started with them picking us up at the hotel and arranging for us to go to both Sa pa and Halong Bay within the week. We stayed one night at the hotel and it was excellent. We then were taken right to our tour the next day to Halong Bay. We were able to leave our extra luggage with the hotel. Then we were given another room when we returned to freshen up and relax before our night train to Sa pa. We were also provided dinner in our room (since we were a bit tired at this point) When we arrived in Sa pa, everything was again taken care of and went off perfectly. All of our tour guides were excellent, the room was great, and the food was excellent. Would definitely use this hotel again.
