The Dormero is a tastefully modern decorated hotel in a good location - right next to a U-bahn station, within easy walking distance of the Rathaus and, with a bit more effort, within walking distance to the city centre and other sights. However the area around the hotel doesn't have many restaurant options - there are 2 small places just to the right, but for more options you need to take the Metro to the centre of town. The rooms are big and modern, and have a huge TV and amazing sound system. The beds are comfortable and overall sleep quality was great. The breakfast was very good and had a big selection of options The WIFI in the room wasn't great
I was going to let this whole hotel experience pass but this hotel has shown the absolute worst of hospitality experience. I originally made a booking at this hotel in February for a stay in late March. I cancelled this hotel in a couple of weeks later in February well within the cancellation window which was last few days before arrival (and have documents) and yet after that March date this hotel still did a large charge on my credit card. It is now July and after many reversals they are still trying to charge my card. I would not recommend ever giving such an unreliable and unethical merchant your private payment details
We stayed here as we were attending a concert in the nearby stadium (15 min walk) and there was plentiful parking. When we arrived we were concerned as we could not get into the car park as it was apparently full, eventually after approaching reception the technical issue was resolved and there was plenty of space in the tight (be careful), pricey (€18) but secure underground car park. The room was comfortable enough with a large TV and shower. There was a minimal free bar with mainly soft drinks and one beer. We had a reasonable nights sleep, however the curtains were light and as we stayed in June I was woken early despite a late night! We had a pleasant enough pre-concert dinner in the burger/steak side of the restaurant, however the kitchen was unable to make some slight adjustments to my wife's meal as they were busy. It is not fine dining, however the food was tasty and hot. At breakfast on a busy Saturday morning, things were rather manic and after just about finding a table we found the hot food was no being topped-up in a timely manner. We did find all the staff we came into contact with were friendly and very usefully spoke good English! The location was great for the stadium which is surrounded by lakes and parks. At the same time it is no far from the city centre which we understood was a 15-20 minute walk. WiFi was free and of good quality. Overall a little pricey but then Coldplay were playing nearby! We would return although our friends had problems with water supply which led to a delay in using the shower - for this inconvenience they were offered free breakfast!
The hotel is nice and they have partly tried to decorate with some modern furniture, although some of the decorations seems to give an almost "cheap" and cold impression. The rooms are clean and both wifi and minibar (soft drinks only) are for free. Service is polite and focused. I would probably not go there again, but the only reason for this is the walking distance to the center of the city, which I normally prefer (EUR 6.50-8.50 for a taxi). Otherwise the hotel and the room was fine.
The hotel is nice and the new spa area great. Parking is available against cost Wifi works very well and staff was friendly. They have a restaurant which is quiet good and a relaxed bar area. Hotel is ja few mins by taxi to the centre
We stayed in this hotel while attending a trade show, it was one of the few still available, and unfortunately that meant a huge price jump. Aside from the price increase during the trade show, it was a very trendy, stylish hotel. The beds were very comfortable and the tv had multiple channels with many languages. The hotel is definitely aimed at younger couples. It is quite walk-able to everything you need with a few really awesome boutique shops right around the corner. The breakfast was really delicious with tons of selection of food. The bar was also very trendy with lots of drink options. The service was very accommodating and helpful for any questions about getting around. Definitely check out the Italian restaurant down the road (I think called Das Abendmahl), Really great!
I recently made a booking with this company, and sadly due to some extreme unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel the booking, sadly this hotel refused to cancel the complete booking stating it was a non refundable booking. Whereas I understand this I had hoped that this company would show some compassion under these circumstance and allow me to cancel without charge. Oh boy I was wrong, they point blank refused this and would only allow me to have 1 day of the 2 refunded. So people be aware if you have any serious reasons for not being able to complete your stay with this hotel and ask them for a full refund you might be in for a nasty surprise that this company rather have half your money than be compassionate and agree to a full refund. Greedy company!! Never again with I use this company.
Rooms: Everything new, quite stylish, quite big room, big TV, armchair, workspace, WLAN for free Bathroom: Big shower, great sink Free amenities: Mini bar! And other See pictures Breakfast: Huge variety! Overall value for money
I really liked this hotel - very relaxed atmosphere, clean rooms, free minibar (never seen that before), excellent TV system with free films in English. They seem to be aiming for a hipster type feel, with lots of young staff and quirky touches. The breakfast buffet was excellent, better than most I have had in UK chain hotels. One slight issue is that there is a bar at the front open to the public that plays music until quite late - my room was above it so I could hear the music, but not too loud.
Got a room that is bigger, could be called a suite, but it was lying directly behind the elevators. Continuous noise. Upon arrival, the heating of the room was running at full power, and my room was 29°C. Even after turning it down, I could not get the temp to a normal level. Water pressure on the 7th floor was really poor in the morning. And for breakfast, it would be nice that the cutlery is already on the table. You really have to pick up everything by yourself.
