Stayed for two nights. It's a quiet and nice hotel outside of the city. The room was in the traditional water town style with the river view. There are great tea houses and restaurants around the hotel too. One of the drawbacks is the smell in the lobby is not like Banyan Tree with the minty spa smell, but some kind of cooking smoke mostly from the open kitchen in the lobby. And the garage was total sketchy. However, I guess it's not fair to compare it with the Banyan Tree regarding the price. Worth staying in a budgeted occasion.
Nice and quiet place. Comfortable and stylish design. Staff are helpful and proactive. Near to the Xixi national wetlands park. Guests staying in this hotel could get 10% off the national park's entrance ticket and boat ticket.
This is my second stay in this hotel and everything is up to your expectation for the hotel like the other Angsana hotels. The mall nearby is getting more and more restaurants and entertainment like KTV and cinema. Of course the Xixi wetland is still the one must visit place if you haven't been there yet. Overall I will definitely stay in this hotel again in the future.
This hotel is quite nice. The westbrook resort is a nice and relaxing place with many small businesses. The swimming pool on the roof is nice for kids but a little bit too busy when I was there. Overall - I would recommend the hotel if you are seeking a quiet weekend away from the noisy city. Breakfast is good and staff is very courteous. My biggest negative was that the hotel smelled a bit like smoke.
Went to Hangzhou for a business trip. All the hotels nearby were full. So we chose to stay at Angsana. The rooms are big but a bit run-down. They arranged rooms right near the lifts for both me and my colleague. And so funny that both of us separately try to find the closets! They were actually inside the bathrooms! Not a smart design! Breakfast ok. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a relaxing holiday, but for a business trip, more than fine.
An unique in room design, plus a wonderful guest service, that is Angsana HangZhou. Thank you for arranged a special in room setup for our anniversary. The place you will definitely visit again after first visit.
We stayed for 1 night at the Angsana Hangzhou which is located near the Xixi Wetland park, you can pay 5RMB for a buggy ride from the tourist info center to get to the park. The tourist info center is also a short walk from the hotel. The room interior is nice which was expected for what we paid and expected of the Banyan Tree brand. However, i was expecting a view of natural scenary but my room oversees the restaurants at the resort area. The breakfast spread was limited in choices. Perhaps it wasnt the peak season the hotel seems pretty quiet.
Quite a comfy nice hotel with lots of dining options outside. No views but a reasonable place to stay if exploring the wetlands. Quiet area with not a lot of people so there is some form of peace there instead of busy West Lake area. If you stay here, go to a restaurant nearby called Grandma's House for lunches and dinners. ROOM Elegantly decorated but very small. Toilet/bathroom has 1 completely transparent glass door. Suited for couples. Comes with standard amenities like bathrobe, soap, towels, slippers, daily fruits, mini fridge, water, kettle. Flat screen tv is available with enough cable channels in English. Wifi is free and connects easily though at times shaky. When I stayed there, we were at the tail end of summer entering fall. There was a regulation that forces the hotel to fix their air condition temperature to 23 deg maximum. So the room felt very stuffy and warm as I didn't dare open the windows for fear of mosquitoes which are in abundance since this is in the Xixi Wetlands area. So they offered me a standing fan which brought me relief at night when you're covered with the thick plush duvet. There is a small desk and chair for you to use and work on. A balcony is attached with doors recommended to keep closed to prevent the mozzies from entering. BATHROOM Sadly they designed this for couples. The toilet door is transparent so no privacy for you. There is another double glass door that opens into bedroom linked with bathtub. That comes with a curtain which you can close for privacy. Soap and shampoo suspiciously smells and feels like the same thing so bring your own if you are fussy. Tub is a nice touch with bath salts for you to soak with. But shower area is a bit cramp as it is squashed beside the tub. If you cannot find your wardrobe, don't fret for it is hidden inside your bathroom. Placed facing the sink, you can easily miss it as I did when I first entered and tried to look for hangars. Very small wardrobe. BED Bed is queen sized and very comfy. It came with 2 pairs of pillows which were soft and comfy but not so good if you need neck support type of pillows. BREAKFAST Room came with breakfast downstairs which was buffet style with ample selection of food variety. One complaint is the non-obvious way too subtle live cooking station for eggs. On my first day I didn't know they offered this and ended up taking already cooked eggs. The "station" has no sign and just a cook standing by near all the dim sum items. Ask for it and they will cook eggs for you. I did not try much on the menu especially the salad and fruits as the presentation was not very appealing, mainly because of the small quantities laid out. SERVICE This was okay and nothing much to shout about. Reception was quite friendly and polite. They speak a bit of English though I spoke mainly Chinese to them. Buggy is available to shuttle you to nearby hotels or to the nearby restaurants in the Westbrook area. GETTING THERE Get there by taxi on arrival at airport. Many taxis available, just get to the public taxi queue and show them the address and hotel name in Chinese. Taxi cost is about 145-155RMB including toll of 15RMB. I made a huge mistake of going by a detour route through the fast expressway which ended up costing me 260RMB including 30RMB toll. It was though to be smoother without traffic but my ride was at midnight so I was fooled into going that way.
if you wish to be away from the crowd of the westlake, this is the place to choose. It is a nice, quiet hotel. Breakfast has a nice selection of local and international dishes, both cold and hot. They always bring fresh food even when you come late. The deluxe room is comfortable, the bathroom is very nice. on the down side. the staff level of english is quite low. So it is not always easy to be understood. Located next to complex full of restaurants. Try Waipo Jia. Very nice
This hotel is right inside xixi wetland park and it is convenient enough not to go outside of the park (cause it is very far from the city) as it has all you need at the business center. I book a standard room and they me upgrade to a room with a courtyard facing the business center. Although they are far away from the city, they do provide some convenient for you by calling cab for you.
