The Maid's Quarters Suite includes ceiling fans in both the bedroom and living room, is on the 2nd floor, no elevator and 500 sq. ft. Our private driveway is large with plenty of free parking and turn around space for trucks with trailers (**space may be limited in winter with our usual huge snow banks).
**For those sensitive to pets: we have a couple resident cats who patrol this old house and its many nooks and crannies so please be aware if you are prone to allergy. They are kept out of the Maid's Quarters at all times and are very cleanly maintained.
Quincy House, completed in 1882 is an Italianate Victorian mansion built by Quincy Mining Company to prominently house its highest ranking area official, the Mine Agent / Superintendent. It is the last standing mining company agent's house among the many mines that once exploited the area for copper. Built more lavishly than other mine company structures, it served as a social center during the copper mine boom. Quincy House is currently undergoing restoration and preservation. You're staying in the private, newly restored rear section of the house. We reside in the separate but connected front section that is under restoration. Both sections are closed off from each other and you will not be disturbed by ongoing restorations during your stay. Your privacy and comfort is our utmost concern. We are happy to talk more about the history and meaning this house to the bygone copper boom which helped electrify the nation. Ongoing restorations progress every day and you will see them in real time.
Quincy House has, is and will be undergoing restoration and preservation for years to come. In no way will this negatively effect your stay. In fact you will be able to witness how we are transforming and restoring this prominent 144+ year old Victorian Mansion back into the monarch of Quincy Hill it once was.
In addition, your stay will benefit the house as all proceeds we receive from your visit are put directly into the Quincy House Preservation Foundation, a 501c3 charitable nonprofit organization formed and operated by us to restore and sustain the house now and for the future as a valuable historic educational interpretation of Copper Country history.
Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a patio, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Housekeeping is available on request.

This is such a beautiful property and incredible restoration project! Hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming, the room is more than comfortable and stocked with thoughtful amenities (homemade thimbleberry soda!). The attention to detail being paid to this historic property makes it a stay very much unlike anything else in the area. Will absolutely be staying here again!

My husband and I visited for two nights while visiting our college kid.The guest suite is absolutely gorgeous and was very clean. There was a great little coffee/tea/snack area set up in the sitting room. The bathroom had extra toiletries in case you forgot something. The rain shower was very relaxing. And Heated Towels..so fantastic.David and Zach were very welcoming and had great communication. They were more than happy to share all they knew about the history of the property with us when we asked. We were visiting when winter provided colder than normal cold temperatures in the UP, so David even left us an extra heater in case we needed it. (We didn't - the boiler heating system in that house works really well!)We would definitely stay here again, and really hope we can because we can't wait to see the remaining restoration.

I have to thanks David and his great hospitality and response, very attentive, Rooms are exactly as described very clean and cuzy. Coffee and te table execelent for the cold morning. My trip was for School purpose at MTU. So I did not have enough time to visit other places at the National Park. Unfortunatelly icy road conditions makes me take my trip back home one day before planned. Looking to come back again next august and I will no hesitate to stay again on this great house. I love it, definitelly recommend others to stay in. Again Thanks David your service is well appreciated. See you next time!

We were greeted at the door by our host. The appearance of the outside held dear the secret of the interior. The opulence and style. Every detail of our extremely clean room was taken into consideration. There were complimentary snacks and drinks of all kinds. Most places just give you sample soaps but beyond that they had q-tips, eye drops, ect... Every possible need was looked out for. The bed was great and the pillows even better and in abundance. These are the hosts with the most.

The Quincy Agent House was convenient to everything we wanted to see in the Upper Peninsula. Our two room suite was beautifully restored by David and Zack who have taken great care and expended much effort in preparing it. The room had everything we needed during our four night stay and we would happily stay there again given the opportunity.
We can't say enough good things about our stay at this historic mansion. The owners are working on the property, but there was absolutely zero intrusions or noise. The hosts were amazing, and their attention to detail is outstanding! It was like a trip back in time! However, the amenities are certainly modern and well thought out.
We had everything we needed--including the ability to have an "eat in" lunch because I was working remotely our first day there. We were close to some really nice restaurants both in Hancock and Houghton. We used Hancock as our base to explore the Keweenaw area. We were right across the street from the Quincy Mine and Museum which was a fabulous place to explore.
You will love your stay here!

Staying in the maid's quarters was the highlight of our Western Upper Peninsula vacation. Our rooms were very comfortable, beautifully furnished with luxury bedding, and the snacks, beverages and breakfast items were perfect. We were very impressed with the improvements that David and Zach have made to the house, and we are already talking about a 2026 return trip so we can see what they accomplish next. This grand home has great potential; it's obviously being cherished and appreciated as Zach and David bring it back to a place of magnificence throughout the home.

What an amazing find to stay at the Quincy House for one night. We stayed in what was formally known as the maids quarters of this historical home. There was a lot of attention to detail for travelers including fresh cut flowers. There was a small refrigerator with waters, keuring for hot beverages, along with breakfast bars & oatmeal for a quick breakfast or snack. The hosts even had thimbleberry jam for sale. We will keep this on our list for return travel. The owner is very friendly and shared with us some history of this home.
This place was amazing. Fresh flowers greeted us when we walked in, the decor is beautiful and reflects the historical aspect of the property. It’s like stepping back in time. There was coffee, tea, other beverages and snacks for us to enjoy.

All the little things
Beautiful gorgeous stunning building. I love lore and the hosts offer it all up. The character of this building is nice to get to know, we left grateful that it’s getting another life. I am excited to see the host’s vision for renovation come together as the work done so far is well done. I’ll definitely be back. We only got to stay one night as we were catching the ferry to the isle. That said, our stay was comfortable, we felt safe, there’s a cat (we’re cat people), and there was thimbleberry jam for sale (we’re also thimbleberry jam people). All the little touches, the carving wires with every hook up I could think, the outlet in the bathroom was the perfect amount of nightlight, the shower mat was so cushy, snacks, coffee, fridge, reading materials, comfortable porch. Truly a labor of love.

The suite we stayed in at this amazing house was beautiful! Inside our suite was an entry way, living room and bedroom with private bathroom. David and Zach thought of everything to keep their guests comfortable and pampered, right down to providing a few choices for a quick breakfast before we left! We would love to go back in a year or so and check out the progress they've made in the restoration.

Highest praise on all accounts. Booking and check in couldn’t have been easier. The rooms were just as described, actually even better. Location overlooking the town is perfect, literally only a stone’s throw from the Quincy mine tour which is a must see… but that’s another review. The hosts, David and Zac, couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. In summary, you should stay here soon because when they finish all of the restoration, you won’t be able to afford to stay here. It’s that good.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! It looked even better in person and the mission of the owners to redo this old building are admirable. Coffee center had everything needed including drinks in the refrigerator and snacks. Beds were super comfortable and bathroom had all the amenities. Historic Quincy House
The hosts of this charming Victorian suite left no detail unturned – the pictures represent it well, but it’s not until you step in that you notice the little things from the chandeliers to the texture of the wallpaper. Further to that, fresh flowers were put in the room on our first day and we had the softest bedding and towels, toiletries, along with water, coffee, juice and other snacks. It was an overall wonderful experience. If this suite is any indication of the details they will put into the rest of the home as they restore it, I will make sure to choose Quincy House when I visit again, so I am able to watch the mansion come back to life.Thank you so much, David and Zach! You are both brilliant!
These renovated historic rooms are beautiful. Excellent craftsmanship in the style of an historic period, but with modern amenities (like phone charging stations by the bed). Really tastefully and thoughtfully done. And the hosts are terrific: kind, helpful, but not intrusive. Highly recommend!
