I stayed at this motel several years ago when it was part of the Best Western chain and was very happy to return. The quality of the motel had not changed - it was still a very good place to stay. My room was large and comfortable, the kitchen area was very well equipped, and the bathroom was immaculate with a wonderful rainfall shower. The wifi signal was strong and consistent. The manager who was on the front desk was very friendly and the check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient. Although the property is situated on a fairly busy road, my room was far enough away not to be affected by traffic noise. The town centre is a few minutes drive away.

O.K so I maybe wrong but I thought booking a 2bdrm unit means that there is 2bedrooms separate from the living area. This unit had a queen bed in the lounge/kitchen/dining area with 2 single beds in a separate bedroom. This makes things hard when there are 4 people staying people want to stay up to watch tv while others would like to enjoy there queen bed. Also as we were there for 2 nights we were told our room would be made up the following morning ready for our second night. This would have being great if they had completed their job not just making up the living area and forgetting the bedroom and leaving the windows wide open. Could they also deter the people (maybe homeless) from stopping outside our door to take cigarette butts from the ashtray every morning and at night.

I stayed here for two nights. My room was huge, plenty of space and a good-sized clean modern bathroom. Full kitchen, handy for self-catering. The way the room was set up it seemd like a good place for reps to stay, and it was indeed it was busy every night with what looked like reps/travellers to me. The location was quiet though, not much street noise.

Very clean and tidy room, larger than normal size bathroom though signs indicate some TLC in order, eg mould developing on the bathroom ceiling, shower leaking underneath glass panels. The addition of a Sky Decoder and multi channels being available is great. It is a busy motel, fully booked for the 2 night duration I stayed. Windows have security stays allowing fresh air circulation rather than air-conditioner. Comfortable bed and good night’s rest though pick a unit further away from the busy road out front. Ample parking though tight when fully booked.

Due to diet restrictions I needed self catering facilities. Not having high expectations before I arrived this accomodation has exceeded all my expectations. Clean, comfortable, spacious and quiet. It has free wifi so great for business users. It's in a really convenient location. Great access to other locations in the area.

First impression I thought oh no what have a come to. As my last place of stay was just fantastic But once I had my first nights sleep on a great bed shower + spa bath both great room clean fresh towels each day room cleaned each day apart from wifi not that good great place to stay. Please note it. This is not going to be a Best Western for much longer but will still be called the Hygate.

Very friendly host. Very comfortable and clean unit. Great shower pressure and lovely spa bath. Only spent one night while attending a family reunion but would definitely stay again. Close to City and Waikato Stadium.

It's a typical motel nothing out of the ordinary, no pool, no spa but you can get a room with a spa bath. The cooked breakfast was small and cold, the poached eggs were hard and it's not nice having rubbery toast had trouble cutting it. The beds was not comfortable for us but might be great for someone else who likes hard beds. The relieving host was helpful I needed something printed and she done it free of charge I was so great full.

Have stayed here a few times and it has been consistent every time. The rooms are spacious with a good size bathroom. What we have noticed here is that the rooms are very clean even to the point that remotes for TV are clean and placed in cloth bags. It's this kind of detailing which we often find lacking in a number of other hotels etc. It has the basic facilities for the kitchen, so overall it has always been a enjoyable stay. It's located on a busy road but we have always stayed in one of rear units and have never had any issues with noise.

Motel was OK and clean, large enough room with all the necessary furniture and bath room. No problem to check in before 2 PM. Just did not feel comfortable because of missing nice outdoors to look at, sort of dark not enough windows and privacy issue.
