This was clean, comfortable and in a good location. Good coffee great front desk staff. The only real issue we could see is maybe some new patio doors that just lock instead of the crazy double locks kind of makes you nervous.
asked for a room at the back overlooking green space and trees when we booked. On arrival we were told these rooms were for regular customers only (men working in the area). We were given a room at the front which reeked of cigarette smoke. Couldn't change rooms as they were full. Staff pleasant except for the guy who checked us in.
We had planned ahead to stay in Simcoe on our vacation; it was a good stopping point for a driving day. It did not look like most of the Comfort Inns where we had stayed, but it was clean. Would have appreciated an elevator to get our gear to the second floor. After settling in, we went out for dinner. When we returned and opened the room door, we were met with the strong smell of marijuana! It was so strong that it smelled like someone had been smoking IN the room. Knowing that this was a non-smoking hotel, I went down to the front desk to inform the staff that WE were not smoking and how could this have happened. The man at the desk apologized for the odor which, he said, was from some of the regular guests who smoke after work outside at the picnic tables below our room. The man said that the a-c unit may have drawn in the smoke, but suggested opening the window to allow the room to clear. I really did not want to ask for a different room, so agreed to open the window and use the a-c fan to draw the smoke out. Luckily, the room was much better by the time we went to bed. The hot breakfast was adequate and typical of Comfort Inn, but the room was only large enough to seat 8 people at a time, but the flow of "customers" was okay.
After a long drive to Simcoe, we were given room 136, it was so musty, damp and dirty smelling that several of our family complained as they were helping us . When I called down to the front desk to mention my concerns I was given the excuse that the hotel was a very busy place with workers staying in the rooms all week, giving the cleaning staff only a few hours to clean all rooms. He than offered us another room on the second floor (room 214) as that was the only room available, (since our party had several rooms booked for a family event). When arriving to this room we noticed that the rug had several pieces of what looked like chips crumbs scattered around the room. Since we were running behind and our family was staying here, we decided to stay. We did check the rest of the room and it wasn't too bad. Would not recommend this Hotel until they have a better customer service.
Hotel room was average. Clean room and bathroom. Beds are doubles. There is a bar size fridge and microwave. TV is a decent size. We didn't have the complimentary breakfast, but it is a very small room with two or three tables. Great area out the back for a bbq. Picnic tables. Short walk to lots of restaurant choices.
Stayed here for a night while exploring the area. Pleasant check-in. Although a little on the small side, everything in the room was clean, updated and functioned well, with one exception - the design of the work desk (crossbar at knee level) was such that the rolling chair could not be pushed in all the way, making it a squeeze to pass. Other than that minor issue, the beds were good, the bathroom had room for our stuff, the TV was fine and the lighting was functional. Internet a bit slow, but OK. The included hot breakfast was a little on the synthetic side, but hey, it's a chain hotel. We would stay here again.
The comfort inn Simcoe Ontario location is always amazing when we stay. We have family in town and frequent this hotel often. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. The breakfasts are always well prepared and they have a great selection. My only wish is that this location would have a small fitness area. Other than that it's perfect!! Can't wait to stay again.
I was in the Simcoe area with a work appointment. As the weather was deteriorating with heavy snow in the forecast, I decided to stay in Simcoe. The Comfort Inn staff was excellent. The hot breakfast and service in the breakfast room was excellent The room was quiet, super clean and a delight. Don't spend your time looking elsewhere. Stay here.
We have lots of family in Simcoe and stay at different hotels in the area. It's a clean, comfortable, recently renovated hotel. The staff are always friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast is your typical continental breakfast which is ok if you like lots of carbs. For us we usually go to Port Dover to the Erie Beach for a hearty breakfast before heading out.
Clean. Comfotable. It was good to return to our wedding night hotel of 25 years. Very good location on main road through town...set back so it was quiet. We got 2 rooms...one with 2 double beds for teenagers and grandma. The other with one queen. (Only negative...no king beds)
