We had the keys in the morning. When we arrived at 8h30 the acces card was not working. We had to call a phone nbr as reception was closed. A very rough old guy, was trying to explain me to use my key on the corridor door, like I should know that place like my pocket. Finally he came, using is own card showing it was working. I had to put mine to show him it was faulty. He told me he was comming from Cambridge and I should be happy to have that sorted ???
The staff are super friendly and helpful and went to great effort to decorate our room after we explained we were revisiting the motel we spent our wedding night in. However the rooms are run down and sadly past their best. The complex was noisy with people coming and going late into the night. The restaurant was long gone but still signposted and the sprinkler head was wrapped in gladwrap!
The staff were a great help when the room was not fit for a young family, I was shown a studio unit that was not perfect but much better than the first unit we were booked in. Cheaper units have been left in the 1980's, recommended you pay a bit more and book a studio unit when staying here. The free wifi only works in places, so check you room before settling in.
I would not recommend this motel even at the cheap rates until they start looking after their customers and upgrade their facilities. Do not get me wrong, it was not a terrible place, It just was not pleasant either. I got a room that apparently was just cleaned, but I could not rest from my long trip as the disinfectant smell was so strong. When I mentioned this to the attendant, he said he would do something about it. but he took nearly an hour, and I had to question him in the hallway about it before something would be done quicker. I ended up moving to another room and the sleep was better. I suggest more professionalism in quality cleaning and service. I wish them the best in the future, but would not go back.
I liked the sound of this hotel but for a family doesn't suit no bench space, no smokes alarms anywhere in the room, tiny tv no sky, if you plan to stay don't bring your kids come with alone or with a person likely to get a better experience here thanks.
This would be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The price was $139 though they advertised $99. The spa bath didn't work and the next day we got told we had to pay more to use it, even though we did pay higher than usual. The lights in the hall didn't work which made it difficult to try and unlock your room at night. The room was filthy and the bed rolled together in the middle. When I went to have a shower in the morning it wouldn't work. We told the manager and he just said "why didn't you come and tell me", This is just something you don't think about. There was no offer of compensation either another words tough luck. We should have read the reviews as they are all the same. Advertised free internet but didn't have any.
Simply this place is falling apart. After trying several rooms and several beds in each room, we concluded that they are from mediocre to terrible and none are confortable. Mattress are flat, soft and very tired. pillows too soft, and two people are falling on each other and suffocating in the pillows. Bathroom are either equipped with these old out of fashion huge round bubble bath (quite difficult to jump in) or hospital paraplegic bathroom. Both are complete nonsense. Decoration is mediocre or inexistant, starting with a sloppy one coat of white paint over a previously green wall, evidently an amateur job with poor result. In spite of what is advertised in the Web Site and on the panel outside the motel, Wi-Fi is a permanent problem. half of the hotel room (those across the corridor) simply do not have any signal at all. Reception is unable to help, simply indicating that the person in charge of the internet connection is a computer enthousiast while a computer professional is required. Parking is uneasy in spite of being a Motel where cars are expected. There is no view from neither of the 4 rooms we tried. The swimming pool is small, not heated and the pool beach is only furnished with 3 small tables and no chair. There is only one long chair for the whole Motel. Smell is terrible in most part of the hotel, and particularly in the corridors. Understanding that we were unhappy and prepared to go elsewhere, the manager was trrying to make us pay immediately while the documentation available in the room clearly indicate that providing we leave a visa card print, which we did we can pay at check out. I am desperatly looking for something positive to say about this place but it is really hard. Probably the staff are to be congratulated for being able to work in these conditions. It must be tough for them to try and provide a decent service in a place that is no longer designed to do so. This place should be closed, totally refurbished from top to bottom and reopen when able to fubction normally, in the meantime whatever the price (from 99 to 160 NZ$ for a double room) it is no good value.
We stayed here on labour weekend while attending a wedding. The bed in our unit (room 23) was awful. It was clearly very old because it was uncomfortable and had roll-together. I've never experienced roll-together in a hotel bed previously. This unit is not suitable for anyone who isn't fairly nimble as it's a mission climbing in and out of the spa bath to take a shower - particularly climbing out when you're wet. The rooms would have been extremely fashionable in the 1970s or early 1980s. Not much has been updated with the decor ever since. Room 23 is in a handy location on the bottom floor for getting in and out to the car park.
I had a quick look which was $120 a night, paid before check in. When checked in room was smelly, mouldy and linen was disgusting. I had sick child with me so I checked with manager if they have any other better room. He showed me another room which was disgusting. Corridor was stinking of cigratte smell. So we decided to leave. Manager charged us $50 for staying 10 minutes in that room. We didn't use a thing in the room. Still we got charged $50. Very unprofessional and rude staff. Not recommended at all. This place is complete waste of money.
I wished we'd viewed the hotel before booking in. Its dated and needs a huge overhaul, actually maybe demolished. Massive stains on the carpet, lumpy beds, air conditioning unit that made a noise but nothing much else and a spa bath unit that was disconnected. I couldn't wait to leave in the morning.
