Nice welcoming hotel. Room was very clean with good amenities such as tea coffee bottled water and plenty of towels, soaps shower gels etc. Comfy double bed but two single quilts is not best maybe its a europian thing! Bar food is very good but the drinks service can be slow..5 minutes for a beer to arrive from ordering! Breakfast has a very good choice and always hot and fresh. The fresh cooked omelettes are very good. The take away coffee is a nice touch. Taxi to hotel €26 from the airport. Nearby main street with lots of restaurants and bars only a short walk away. Would have been nice to get a club room upgrade with the IHG membership but apart from that a recommended hotel and will stop here again.
5 minutes from the city center easy access to public transportation buses and trains.its located in a residential area in a quiet neighborhood.the room was clean and spacious.great tea room. lounge was nice too.breakfast was plentiful lots of choices fresh and delicious.service of staff very helpful.
We stayed in the Crowne Plaza this past weekend . A very comfortable and pleasant hotel with excellent staff, nice room but spoiled abit by the enormous L shaped desk, I know the Germans are diligent but........... Pleasant leafy location in up market suburb it has one trick up its sleive which makes it an excellent location. That is the No. 6 bus , stops (Graumannsweg)two minutes away , if that, and whisks you downtown (Hauptbahnhof ) in 8 minutes with a bus every 7 minutes and announcements of next stop on the bus and waiting time messages at the stops it is an excellent service. Better yet it goes on past the Hbf) to Rathaus (town hall) and all the great shops and city centre is between the two. Breakfast good quality but a bit pricey for the buffet although there are cheaper options. All in all highly recommended .
Great location nice walk into the city centre. Hotel spotless, great choice for breakfast. Reception swift & very courteous. Bed very comfy & with UK channels nice to come back to after a busy working day. Would absolutely book again.
Title says it all, in comparison to price paid. Elsewhere i stayed before, for equivalent price and room cat, is larger with wider breakfast selection. Though Alster lake is very near, the view is blocked by residential building around, unless guests stay in club cat. Front desk should be conscientious to follow up with guests request rather that having to follow up.
Had a good stay at this hotel recently on a two day trip to Hamburg. Rooms were comfortable and amenities good. Staff were pleasant and breakfast was good value. Special thanks to Steffi in the bar who worked tirelessly to make sure everyone was kept well refreshed and the lady who cooked the made to order eggs, omelettes and pancakes in the morning (sorry I didn't get your name). I prefer to stay in the centre of Hamburg however as most of my usual hotels were fully booked or were charging extortionate rates I gave this one a go and would have no hesitation in staying there again.
Great hotel, no doubts. Very silent location close to downtown (20 min to walk or 5 min by bus #6). Hotel is clean, personnel is professional and friendly, breakfast is great. Really great. In the lobby great choice of teas available 24/7 absolutely for free. I have marked this hotel as favorite for Hamburg in my Evernote.
We used this hotel, a chain we are used to, for exploring Hamburg, and found it very convenient. In the three days we were there we toured Hamburg's attractions on foot from the lakes through the Old and New City and the docks without once using public transport. Not far away are plenty of popular restaurants on the Lange Reihe. We booked a Comfort Room, expecting there would be extra facilities but when I enquired I learned that the difference between a Comfort and Standard room is simply the location, i.e. not on the front, by the bins, garage etc, so being quieter. The room was pleasant, and the bathroom good, and plenty of fluffy towels. However, the chairs were not very comfortable and there is no communal lounge where guests can relax. We found this a disadvantage .Breakfast is very good (but no marmalade) and with good service.
My second visit to the Crown Plaza. Parking: There is parking available outside the hotel. The hotel is very typical Crown Plaza look, if you've previously used Crown Plaza, there is a degree of comfort in the fact that you know the standard to expect. It's very clean with the familiar decor with friendly staff The hotel is accessible from street level, and lifts are available to take you up to your room. The food was fine, a good variety of breakfast choices were available. The Room: The basic room I occupied was reasonably sized, with modern decor, good shower over the bath and free toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities and a hair dryer and ironing facilities were also available. A fridge was also available. Mattress and pillows were fine. For a city hotel the room good blackout and was very quiet, even with the window open, which made for a good nights sleep. Wifi: Free very fast wifi was available. Summary: I was happy with my stay. The hotel has a good atmosphere and attentive staff. Due to time constraints this was just a bed for the night. However I will certainly return to explore Hamburg in more detail. You'll be fine here, so book with confidence.
The first impression of the hotel was ok, prim and proper, that's why we came back the second time. The locality of the hotel is good, we are spoilt for choice for dining options within walking distance and the city center is 10-15mins away by bus. The tea corner is near the hotel lobby is something unique and brilliant which I haven't come across in other hotels. Only thing is we didn't feel welcome when we return. The receptionist clearly told us we had club access when we checked in and we thought it's because we just got to the platinum status... key didn't work and when we return to the front desk, another gentlemen to attended to us this time . "Oh why did you think you have club access?" "Because we are told upon check in." "There's a mistake, even platinum and elite members don't get club access." They did offer us a "complimentary" access for their genuine mistake for one night. 1. We don't need the club access. 2. The club lounge is not that fancy. We have visited better lounges at other hotels, my husband is not impressed at all. 2. Why would we ask for such access if it wasn't told to us. Ok so we learn now that the IHG platinum members have no perks. In comparison, the SPG and Club Carlson have better loyalty programs.
