Lovely quiet place. My dad and I stayed in the ground floor two bedroom unit and it was perfect for us. Clean and comfortable, not too fancy. Thoughtful touches in the kitchen and bathroom like popcorn and after sun lotion were a nice surprise. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when back in Maui.
We love this place for what it has and mostly for what it does not have. It is a secluded retreat in the rain forest on the slopes of Haleakala. Well-appointed fully furnished suites hidden away from the crowds. Great place and a great price, especially for Maui. What it does not have that makes it even more special for us? No beach, no young families, no kiddie pool, in fact no pool, no concierge, no front desk, no room service, no restaurant, no cheesy luaus. FYI - Paia and Haiku have some of the best restaurants on the island and the beach is a 5 minute drive. This is our third stay here and we are sold on Bamboo Valley Inn for our future visits.
The stay here was a definite highlight of our trip. We travelled with our adult son and this provided a great space to relax in after a day in Maui. Being close to the road to Hana and Haleakala National Park was a nice plus. Beds were really comfortable, place was clean, there was an outside shower, grill and laundry facilities. Beach chairs and towels, a cooler and boogie boards were also provided. A tray with coffee, tea and breakfast snacks was provided and the kitchen is well equipped. Overall a great place to stay!
My husband and I and our adult son stayed in a two bedroom suite which was very comfortable and clean. It was a real home-away-from-home with a full kitchen and barbecue so that we could do our own meals. There was even a cooler available for packed lunches - great for a trip to the volcano where there are no eating facilities. The rainforest was peaceful so that we could enjoy the sounds of the birds and relax on the lanai. Owners Tom and Vicki were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Tom told us his horse likes bamboo, but we found out he likes carrots too!
My wife and I enjoyed this beautiful spot. Tomorrow our host was very friend and helpful. The Haleakala suite was well equiped and clean. It’s was so nice to come back to after a day of exploring and have a quiet place to stay. It’s is easy to find and close to most conviences. We definetely well come back!
Lovely accommodations nestled in lush surroundings. Short drive to the local sand and surf. We also drove to the Haleakala Volcano less than an hour away. Tom and Vicky are the best hosts making sure you have everything you need! The kitchen is stocked with all the basics making it feel like home. They even stocked the fireplace with Duraflame logs so we had cozy fires on the cooler nights. Beautiful and clean decor. We loved staying here and even met another couple from the Netherlands on their honeymoon as well. Also visiting with their horse made each morning special. We highly recommend staying at the Bamboo Valley Inn and can't wait until our next time as well!
Very nice rooms, beautiful common area in suite, very clean and well-appointed. A refuge in the rain forest. Not too far from what we wanted to see in Hawaii. Close to North Shore attractions. About 45 minutes to Haleakala and the South Shore for the sunny beaches. Delighted mom and teenaged son alike. If you are not into a big resort, but still like nice accommodations, this is a great choice. I did not find the driving to be too taxing and conveniences were not too far away.
Nested in a jungle setting at the base of Haleakala a fully-furnished 2-bedroom house. Very comfortable. If you are looking for sandy beaches and cheesy luaus this is not your place, but a great "up-country" location in the hills of Haiku (near Makawao) this is you place..
We have stayed at this Inn twice already and will always and only stay here. Before place and set up. Away from all the noise. We stayed in the suite that had kitchen and ice box. Was totally like home. Love the place and owner very helpful when needed.
This was our second stay at this location. The room is spacious and gorgeous. Having a fully equipped kitchen really made a difference. We could eat breakfast in our room, saving money and time. Also, we used the kitchen to pack lunches before we went adventuring for the day. The location may seem like it is out of the way. That is because it is! And that is one of its features - away from the busy shops and streets of the West coast, but not too far away that you can't visit Lahaina and nearby beaches. There is also a shared washer and dryer that really comes in handy. Tom and Vicki are excellent and caring hosts. Lastly, I recommend this location for anyone looking to be close to the Road to Hana. It is close to the historic town of Paia, which is known as the last town before Hana on the Road to Hana. Paia has restaurants, a gas station, a gelato shop, and a great grocery store called Mana Foods. You will feel at home when you stay at Bamboo Valley Inn.
