My stay was a business stay without kids. The good thing was that they have special floors for business stays where they don't accommodate families with kids, which is very good. The room was very clean and it seems that it was renovated not long ago. They have a business lounge on the 20th floor where you can sit, have a drink (wine, water, juice or some soft drink), eat some salad or fruits, drink coffee and enjoy the view. The staff are extremely kind and smiley. Breakfast is very good with a rich buffet. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay there.
Over the course of many years I've occasionally stayed a the Dan Panorama in Haifa. My travel group was there for two nights in mid-May 2017. It's a venerable, solid hotel on one of Haifa's upper levels. Ask for a room facing westward towards the Haifa Bay; the view is spectacular, both day and night. You see below the peaceful Bahai Gardens and the hustle and bustle of the city below, down to the docks and can follow the coast for miles northward. In the past, I'd enjoyed taking the inclined subway a couple of blocks away down to the dock level; unfortunately, a recent fire has closed the system until repairs are done. We had breakfasts and one supper at the hotel; the food is abundant. There's a synagogue about four blocks away (go left as you leave the hotel, past the subway station a block or so to Hayam Street, turn right, stay on right side 1 1/2 blocks). Enjoy your stay!
Dan Panorama is very near to Carmel center- where there are lots of shops nearby to eat, buy groceries, etc This has 20 floors and the view of the bay from the rooms are wonderful The hotel offers business lounge and the variety of soups is excellent. In entire stay of 8 days, there was no repeat of the soups For vegetarian, this is the best hotel since they have only veggie stuff in the business lounge
Travelled for three days on Business tour and our contacts referred us to this hotel. The hotel has got a full fledged gym , aerobics centre and a superb swimming pool. Once you get there , you forget the rest and indulge in your weight loss regimen. we paid for the wifi a nominal amount. And The Break fast buffet was too good with Arabic and Indian spices. This located is located on top of the hill with easy access to shopping and beach buses. The staff were friendly to accommodate us for early check in
Came here 10 years ago... things have changed except this hotel ... Same guy working the restaurant also... hotel is dated and needs a lot more work to make this a 3-4 star range. Breakfast is identical every morning for 2 weeks... as is dinner ~~~! Nothing special to write home about at 150 shekels - not sure how the locals eat here unless there is a local price vs tourist. Location is excellent as compared to the other alternatives Dan Carmel and Crowne plaza... lots of shwarama places, coffee shops, sandwich places, icecream places, a grocery, etc.... And the entrance to the Bahai Gardens is just behind the hotel...
Usually have stayed at Crowne Plaza when visiting Haifa but was recommended to try the Dan Panorama this time. Negotiated a price match as their posted rate was higher. Very pleased! Nice rooms, staff excellent, good location handy for the high street restaurants and bars etc.
The hotel is located in the high part of Haifa – The ridge of the Carmel Mountain and is a tower so basically you have a great view from any location. The room was not big but comfortable, clean and modern. The shower is in the bath which was relatively small. There is a safe in the room. For some reason the hair dryer was hidden in a drawer in the room – fixed to its place. The three meals that we had – breakfast, lunch and dinner where good and tasty – nothing out of the ordinary. In short – enjoyable (with a view).
The room is modern with lots of electric outlets and a fantastic view of Haifa. Nice buffet breakfast. Slept so well that we overslept. Had a problem with the TV that they promptly fixed. Located in an area with nice shops and restaurants.
Ok so what does that mean "with some quirks"? Checked in and the lady at reception was extremely helpful and pleasant. She seemed to be there everytime I passed reception so must put in some long hours, sorry I forgot to ask her name. She was also helpful when the taxi driver would only accept payment in schekals and soon had me sorted. The lobby is spacious and grand looking and the lifts work well, no endless waiting. My room was very nicely appointed, was clean tidy and modern. The bathroom was similar. For most people these days, wifi is essential and it worked well throughout the hotel. The views from the 16th floor were very good, my room overlooked the entrance to the Haifa Zoo which is across the road. So, back to the room. Wardrobe with sufficient hangers for clothes, safe, robe & slippers, ample tea and coffee, refrigerator, electrical sockets , two bottles of complimentary water and a plate of fruit, no complaints. The bathroom was well stcked with soaps, shower gel, shampoo, hairdrier and towels. Aircon worked well too. Shower worked well but found the bath to be on the small side, not sure how a larger person might fit. The bar and restaurant are located on floor L, one up from reception. There are magnificent views over the bay and port of Haifa. However, it was the bar that let this hotel down a little. So, for all of its good points I could not understand why the bar furniture looked like it was some 30 years old. Also, I was not impressed by the stained fabric on the seats. The other thing was the service...it was slow and belive me, the guy in the bar was not overworked with customers. Now, I don't mind waiting a short time but I do get annoyed when a mobile phone call takes precedent over a paying customer. Maybe it's my British culture.... With my room came access to the business lounge on the 20th floor. I decided to take a wander up to take in the views from the lounge, you'll be greatly dissapointed. There are no panoramic windows, in fact, the windows are small and covered with patterned nets. Not good. In my opinion the hotel is failing to capitalise on a room with a view that could be a real asset and a place where business people and other guests can unwind at the end of the day. Wine and a range of non alcoholic beverages are served here as are a selection of buscuits, sweet bites and fruit. I didn't eat dinner in the hotel but did take breakfast. The buffet included a range of cheeses, fish, fruit, eggs and cereals. The food was good but why were many of the glasses stained? So, overall a good hotel, a good nights sleep and wide choice of breakfast options all at a reasonable price. I might stay here again during my next visit.
I booked the Excecutive Triple Bay View for 8 nights for the Passover holiday. We were put on the 19th floor which is the highest floor that the rooms are on. The view was amazing. I enjoyed lying down on the bed during the day for a rest or standing by the window in the morning and evening and looking out at the views of the harbour and the Bahai Gardens and the Carmel mountain down to the harbour. Just gorgeous! The room came with access to the Executive lounge as well which was a nice perk as well.
