Welcome to “Trawalla” – Your Peaceful Country Escape Near Canberra

Nestled in the countryside, Trawalla offers a genuine farm experience that's about as removed from suburbia as you can get; - perfect for recharging and reconnecting.

Just 30 minutes from most parts of Canberra, 40 minutes from Goulburn and Queanbeyan, and within easy reach of Bungendore, Gundaroo, and Gungahlin, you’ll have access to some of the region’s best dining and wedding venues, including Petrichor Farm, Tallegandra Hill Winery, and Grazing Restaurant. We’re also just under two hours to the Snowy Mountains and two and a half hours to the South Coast.

The fully renovated farmhouse combines modern comfort with country charm. It features two kitchens, two bathrooms, four bedrooms, three living areas, a bar/study, and an expansive pool bar. The home easily sleeps 13+ guests, making it ideal for large families or two groups staying side by side.

Enjoy the swimming pool, tennis court, and bikes, or unwind in the large pool bar—a guest favourite complete with pool table, table tennis, TVs, fridges, BBQ, and a cozy fire. It’s perfect for relaxed gatherings, including family birthdays, tame bucks or hens nights and pre-wedding get-togethers.

Our friendly farm animals—horses, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats, and our beloved Highland cow, Miss Caroline, love a pat over the fence. Visiting dogs, cats, or even horses are welcome by request.

Trawalla is a working property and home to our racehorses. Our friendly family members live on-site (in a separate house) and are always happy to help if needed.

Come and experience this little slice of rural Australian heaven—a peaceful, spacious farm stay offering the charm of country life with the convenience of being incredibly close to a capital city. We can’t wait to share it with you.

There was 17 of us who stayed and each person had a wonderful time. The property was clean, comfortable and very cosy! We stayed warm by the fire, enjoyed feeding a treat to the horses and spending quality time together! There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, the house had enough space that it never felt we were all on top of each other. It was such a hard goodbye when we we left!

Lovely weekend break

The property was absolutely perfect for our family stay. The older kids had a lot to do and had their own space away from the adults. The facilities were great for cooking a meal, and the multiple living spaces gave everyone a place to go if needed. The only downside was that the second bathroom was an ensuite, so that meant too many people had to share the main bathroom.Apart from that we had a wonderful holiday stay.
