Seawind 1808 was the perfect vacation destination for our large family! The owners have paid extreme attention to detail in every imaginable detail. The condo is right on the ocean with an incredible view from the 18th floor, and only half the walk to the water that any other condo has been that I have ever stayed at on the ocean. We enjoyed a wonderful dolphin show from our balcony, and it was high enough up to miss the noise of other visitors but still enjoy the peaceful sound of the ocean waves. The 1808 condo was impeccably decorated, incredibly clean, and well furnished. The free wifi was very fast and never a problem. It easily sleeps nine with room to spare, and the sofa bed is quite comfortable, too! The two bathrooms are very large, and we really appreciated having a full-sized laundry room to store things as well. There were many extra blankets and towels for use. The owners were wonderful to answer our questions before we came, and we would have felt comfortable reaching them if there any problems (there were not). We loved the fact that the master bedroom also had balcony access. The neighbors were quiet even though we were there in middle of July. We have never stayed at such a desirable location! We were walking distance from several restaurants! One, Sea N Suds, is literally right next door. We were able to enjoy frozen adult drinks there before hitting the beach. There is also a souvenir store and grocery store right across the street, which was extremely convenient. We were within walking distance to the Hangout, which offers live music every night. It is a really fun place for familes and young adults, but my husband and I enjoyed dancing there as well, and we are in our forties! Another great advantage is that wave runners (sea-doos), parasailing, and banana boat rides are literally right there- no driving to an obscure location somewhere to enjoy what you want to do on the beach! We did drive to another location nearby for deep sea fishing, which was also fun. If you've never been to Gulf Shores, let me tell you: it has everything you want for a beach destination without driving 1000 plus miles or spending a lot of money on a flight. It was not overly crowded, and it was an absolutely beautiful, clean, lovely beach. The sand is white and the water is blue/green. It was usually clear and calm while were we there. I read some complaints about waiting for elevators and the narrow parking. There are many parking spots that are not narrow, and we were always able to find one very easily. The elevator was never a problem, either. I think at the most we waited two minutes for an elevator, and we were up and down quite a bit the seven days we were there. I would highly recommend Seawind 1808 to anyone and everyone!
Stayed in unit 905... nice, comfy decor with a great view! Well maintained condo and easy access to the beautiful beach! Sleeps 8-9 which is nice, but unit needs more towels and utensils. Main issues- Parking spaces are very small and there weren't enough for all. Elevators- only 2 for 19 floors! We had to wait quite long and often took the stairs. The 2 small pools should be larger for condos this size. Beach chairs are not included, but were available to rent for $30 a day. In my opinion, 3 rows of chairs set far back from the gulf wasn't ideal. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but for the price would expect a little more.
We loved our stay at the Seawind Condos! Our condo was beautiful, comfortably furnished, and clean! It had everything we needed to cook our own meals and do laundry. The "pool" is more like a 3 ft deep kiddie play place, which was great for our toddlers. We loved being right on the beach, grilling on the condo grills while the kiddos played in the pool. The only complaint is the wait time for an elevator. We'd occasionally have to wait 20 minutes to get one. We'd definitely go back though!
We stayed in unit #1906 last week for our trip down to see Jimmy Buffett in concert at the Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach. The unit was very nice and clean, bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Great views as well. It is a 3 bedroom which was more room than we needed but they worked with us on the price because we booked at the last minute. We had no problems during our visit (except the weather which is always unpredictable at the beach). Wi-Fi was included which is always a plus for us; water pressure in the master bath could be better but I can be a little picky about that. Facility has 20 floors & 2 elevators but we did not really experience any issues with that; they were quite efficient. Some of the parking spaces are really narrow and some are on a pretty steep side slope, so parking might be an issue for large vehicles.
We stayed in 904 and I won't stay here again. We stayed for a week and the gym and pool are next door and I didn't even know that it was ours at first. The elevators take forever, there's no lobby, parking is tight, and my car has gotten so many marks from other car doors hitting me. I paid extra for another wristband to use the pool and nobody else wears one, so who knows if they're supposed to be there. There's no code for the pool, so anyone can go. The wifi is terrible and not everyone's phone would even link to it. It was very expensive and just not worth the money. The only decent thing, was it's location to the hangout and gift shops because it was in walking distance of about a mile. I do have to say the balcony was a corner one and therefore bigger than the others, but the outdoor furniture was dry rotted and the recliner chair broke when my mom sat on it.
We are currently staying at the Seawinds 1004. The first night we arrived one of the bunk beds broke and the Tv was down. I called the rental office the next morning and the maintenance man had it fixed before we returned from the beach. This unit is nice, clean and affordable. I would not recommend a very large person on the bunk beds as they are not meant to hold a large amount of weight. The beach service is the best I have ever received Tyler and Brody come by several times a day to make sure you don't need you canopy adjusted or anything at all. This boys will help anyone that asks. I seen them carry people's bags and hep them set up a personal canopy. The get a 5 stars. The Sea n Suds restaurant is next door and they have good food if your looking for fried items. They also sell ice for your coolers if needed. They have a nice kiddy pool and barbecue area. We would definitely stay here again!
Our family stayed in unit 1004 during early spring break. This unit has a beautiful view of the Gulf. Since it is a 3 bedroom unit that is pie shaped. Therefore it has an over 50 foot long balcony that gives you the best of the best for sun shielding and wind shielding throughout the day. The two main bedrooms are very nice with good beds and furnishings. The third bedroom is rather small with bunk beds and no dresser. It has a small window that opens toward the street. Unit 1004 did have 8 chairs and 2 good sized glass top tables on the balcony, by the way, with plenty of room to spare. There are 2 pools: a rather large wading kiddie pool and an indoor/outdoor adult pool. There is a good sized outdoor hot tub. The pools were very busy due to spring break with a lot of unattended kids, once again to be expected during this week. The biggest drawback of the place was the elevator service during busy times. Be prepared to wait a little and enjoy yourself! Th condo is well located to the middle of town by a reasonable walk if you are able. And wit Sea-N-Suds literally next door you don't have to cook if you don't choose to. Would recommend Seawinds to everyone.
The view was beautiful on the 12th floor. The elevators were a little slow. Parking spots are tight. We only left the parking spot if truly needed to drive other than that we walked. Close to many restaurants and shops. Beach was clean!
We stayed at Seawind over Spring Break. We had 2 adults and 4 kids with us. The condo was 3 bedrooms and we had plenty of space. The 3rd bedroom was very small - basically a bunk room, but it worked for the kids.. GOOD: For a 3 bedroom condo, these are priced very reasonably. The view is fantastic, the balcony overlooks the ocean and is quite spacious. Our condo was completely updated, clean and very well stocked. Also, the pool was heated which is important in March. The weather was beautiful, but the ocean water was pretty cold. My son spent a lot of time swimming in the pool. If you have little ones, the kiddie pool was really nice and great for toddler aged kids. The other nice thing about this condo is the location - you are walking distance to most of the restaurants and ice-cream places. The grocery store is a mile away. The Hang-out (a teen favorite) is just down the block. There is also lots of visible security on site. Guards were often walking the grounds, the parking lot, the pool area. Finally, ample parking is available on-site. NOT SO GOOD: The size of the pool is quite small for such a large condo. If your family likes the pool more than the beach, you are not going to like this place. It is an indoor/outdoor and its very small. I read some reviews about the slow elevators. We stay at high rise condos fairly often and I didn't think these were any slower than normal. We enjoyed Seawind, we would stay here again.
Bad, all carpet needs replacing, living room couch is soft and sits so low to the floor we had to use many bedroom pillows to sit on, chairs have such deep seats you cannot comfortably on them. Moldy shower curtain in master bath. Two frying pans, one aluminum and warped was useless. The other with Teflon flacking off, large scratches. I refused to use it and bought my own. The king bed was very comfortable. Plenty of balcony furniture. Very small pool. But I would not stay here again.
