Great House, Needs Updates
The house was very much as described in the listing, lots of space, walk right onto the beach from the pool, amazing views. The appliances were all new in the kitchen, which was very nice. The sofas & upholstered chairs in the living room were dingy and very dirty. We covered them up with sheets for the duration of the stay. The house was reasonably clean, but there was paint peeling and cracks noted throughout. The extra pillows provided in the closets were all dingy with brown spots all over them so we didn’t use them.
Outside, the deck is wooden and worn, and we had multiple children with splinters by the end of the week that had to be picked out. The pool is great, about 5ft deep in the middle, but the smaller pool is really a kiddie pool. I thought it was a hot tub from the pictures, but there are no jets and no heat. We had a few little ones with us so it worked perfect for them, although the adults were a little disappointed. The charcoal grill downstairs did not have a grate we could use, it was busted up and had a big hole in the middle. Our neighbor on the east side let us use theirs when we wanted to cook out there. The swing on the master patio would have been nice, but was peeling paint so badly you couldn’t sit on it without getting paint chips all over you.
The beach was the reason we came, more than the house even. It was awesome. We did have to deal with some biting flies on the beach, so highly recommend taking a flyswatter and some bug spray. Good times!
