Beware of the Crooks on the FRONT DESK. The hotel has a wonderful location, on the Beach Front. We went on a family Holiday and booked four Villas. While checking out, we were in a hurry as it was time for flight. The front desk executive (Their names were PUI & BM) deliberately delayed the check-out process. We were in a rush and would have missed our flight. They accused us of taking a small PILLOW from the room. In order to cut the drama short, I said I was willilng to pay for the pillow, and asked how much was it ? PUI said it was 200 Thai Baht (it was a baby cushion 8 cm by 8 cm). I said Okay, here is 200 Baht. As soon as I took out the cash, she said, WAIT. it is 1000 Thai Baht !! This was just a way to make some extra CASH for them, knowing that we were getting desperately late and would pay anything. I refused to pay the same. How can you accuse someone booking 4 villas in a 5 star property, who tipped a few thousand baht during the course of the stay of stealing a baby cushion? I asked them to check our bags. I refused to pay the amount as they changed the price. I asked them to check our bags. And they did ! Such a five star treatment.. My wife went to the room along with the hotel staff and they found the Pillow in the Villa, below the BED! Such Crooked and Mean Staff. Otherwise, the property was good !The food was nice. Especially the Pizzas. Watch out for the FRONT DESK Staff.

Three exquisite days in this resort. Service is nice, as well is the food, even if some time you would wish for a more fast service... Villa with pool are just a dream, and well maintained. The beach is a bit rocky for those who are looking for white sand, and not too large.

Well, this hotel was sold as 5 stars to us - believe me, it's not. It's rather small - in any aspect, not much to do, not many choices for breakfast compared to real 5*, small beach. The hotel beach is probably the worst part - at first glance it looks like a sandy beach, but it's not - 2 meters into the water and you hit lots of big sharp rocks, no swimming without shoes possible. Furthermore you are confined to this small strip, you cannot walk anywhere from there. Ob the other side the rocks to the left there is a beautiful long sandy beach to walk along with bars, restaurants and great hotels, but you just cannot get there from this place.

We came for a 3 night break in rainy season. It’s 10 minutes from the airport 500bhat It’s all private bungalows which is quiet and beautiful. The spa is perfect and quiet and so cheap. There are two restaurants, one steak place, which I didn’t try. The main restaurant has European and Asian/Thai food which is good if not quite fantastic. The bar is great, huge cocktail list. Staff really friendly, absolutely peaceful which is what we wanted. The beach is small but the services all round is great. Gym is well equipped. It’s everything we wanted I’d imagine far busier in peak season etc. But quiet relaxed getaway with a touch of luxury

Have stayed at several Outrigger Hotels throughout Hawaii, and was the main reason why I booked this choice for Koh Samui. A known quality chain. Ok, it is a little out of the way from "things' for those who have no transportation. Luckily I rented a car for our stay. Driving from the main road back to the resort I passed several couples who looked like they were walking either to, or from (in the opposite direction I was going) the local town to the resort (about 1 km of dark roads, and ups and downs too. Both the scenery and layout of the resort are very visually appealing, and finding your way around is easy enough. Overall, the resort needs some TLC, specifically the wood decks in room pool areas, and around the larger pool area too, as in places the wood is rotting, or has rotten, and has been patched as opposed to a new section being replaced and blended in with the other sections. When we got to our room, the first thing I noticed was several mosquitoes inside both the main room, and bathroom. 2nd was that the ac unit was having a problem keeping the room cold. Upon inspecting the ac unit I discovered only half of it was working. Unfortunetly the half that did not work was the half that should blow towards the bed area. This proved to be a bigger nuisance than [planned as the several mosquitoes who had taken up home in our room were now free to molest us all night without any air turbulence to keep them off. I was awake until 3 am because of these mosquitoes, and the heat from not being cooled by a semi non functioning ac unit. I notified front desk at 0830 next morning on our way out for the day. When we returned at 3 pm, the problem was still not fixed, and had to wait for maintenance to come and spend 30 minutes + trying to fix it, and in the mean time, having all the doors open to keep the room cool while the ac was off and being worked on. Guess what? I think we got some more guests in for the night while the doors were open!! Ok, I liked the resort, and am glad I had a rental car from the airport to get "away". That is just me, maybe you are ok with staying within the hotel grounds. Breakfast was good, was fresh, and the setting was pleasant. Hope this helps :)

When we first turned up at this hotel i was disappointed straight away, the reception did not resemble that of a 5 star hotel and with only two sofas this became very annoying over our stay whilst waiting for taxis etc with never anywhere to sit. The wardrobe space was ridiculous for a family of three with only one single robe so we had to leave the majority of our clothes in the suitcases, We had to complain about the safe as it was not bolted down and anyone could have just walked away with it. The rug in the room was filthy dirty and the outside deck and seat was very shabby and dirty and mouldy. Some days there were no seating/loungers available round the pool area. Overall we had a nice holiday due to the beautiful staff but was expecting a 5 star luxury resort when honestly it was dated and tired 3 star equivalent. Feel it was expensive for the quality of the resort

This was my first visit to Koh Samui and the Outrigger was the perfect choice. The website doesn't do it justice. Our villa had its very own private dive pool and private deck. All staff were so lovely and I loved to food and atmosphere. As well as your own private pool there is also another pool with access to a wet bar where the staff were always prompt with service. Would definitely come back again!!

If your thinking of coming to the outrigger in Koh Samui think again I’m here right now and there is extensive building works going on around the pool and villas The staff are pleasant the food is ok but expensive The pool furniture is old and some beds are broken and not that many The beach is very course gravel they do provide shoes to go on the beach The water in the villas is salt we didn’t know that anytime of booking there not worth the money they charge for them as most are covered with trees so very little sun light is getting to them to sun bath on the outside decks Room service is ok they do clean the room Pool service is slow on certain days depends who’s working The spa is good but expensive cheaper to go into town if your on a budget This resort is about 5 years and a lot of money spent on it away from being a place I would come back to it’s not a 5* resort yet in my opinion

We had a perfect time at Outrigger. The staff was absolutely friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The resort is not too big, thats why it was never too full in all areas. The breakfast was rich and everthing you need, you could order from the menu as much as you liked and more from the buffet. The food in the restaurant is also delicious and you find everything you want on the menu. We had also a few spa treatments which were absolutely relaxing and enjoyable. The beach is a bit stony, but I didnt need watershoes,it was not disturbing, because i dont walk in the sea..i swim. The bungalows are well furnished and have everthing you need, inclusive the plunge pool, which was large enough to refresh. The only thing that needs a bit more maintenance are the wooden floorboards and railing around the bungalow,it came a bit in the years..

I cannot recommend this hotel enough - we stayed here for 2 nights as a little bit of luxury whilst backpacking. We got upgraded to a private pool garden suite. I've never experienced anything like it. We always dream about going back. Food was unreal too.
