We spent in this luxurious hotel 5 nights. Its rooms consist of villas with private pools. So this hotel is a perfect one for couples. We stayed in a villa placed in front of the sea and direct access to the beach. This is important, since they are four different room type to choose: * Villa with private pool * Bigger Villa with a bigger pool (quite big, indeed). * Villas with private pool and sea view * Villas with private pool and direct access to the beach Depending of the hotel search engine, some of them can't be offered. We chose the third option and we had an upgraded to the villa with direct access to the sea, so it was excellent because we enjoyed the see view from the garden and went to the beach direct from our villa. However, it is true that this villa is not the more private one. I think if you look for more privacy, the bigger villas are perfect (2nd option), although they don't have the best views. The hotel room was excellent, although I missed more wardrobes in the room, as well as towel hangers. The staff was very kind, polite and well-mannered. This is a standard in Thailand :). We were received with a refreshing drink and a mango pastry. Related to the swimming pools, they are three different ones, placed together. One of the swimming pool has a aqua-bar. However, the first day we found that the swimming pools needed a cleaning. Fortunately, the next day they were clean. I strongly recommend the hotel manager to have a better control of the swimming pools in order not to repeat this mistake. This hotel also has a direct access to a private beach (shared only with other hotel). This beach has stones inside so you will need water-shoes. The hotel provides them free of cost. The first day happened the same as the pool, the beach needed a cleaning, that it was carried out the following day. The breakfast was quite excellent, since it consists of two parts: buffet and menu. That is excellent, because the hotel is not so big, but they offered fruit, salad, cold meat (cold cuts), juices, pastry... And, in addition, you can select from the menu two plates (pancakes, eggs, Asian style, etc) So, it was really tasteful and great. Good Idea! Finally, I strongly recommend the guests to visit the tour offices and taxi services located outside the hotel. They were managed by a family, who were nice, kind and well mannered. They helped us to find house of spirits. They were really great people! (Top of the top :) )
At the end of our visit to Thailand, we decided to splurge by staying at a nice hotel in a removed part of Ko Samui, which is how we selected the Outrigger. We were pleased and delighted to find that the hotel more than met our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with exceptional hospitality, particularly by our hostess Beer who gave us a personal tour of the many amenities the resort has to offer. It was a delight to have such immediate access to a seemingly private beach. We definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Thailand who is looking to bask in a little luxury removed from the crowded tourist scene.
This is truly an amazing place to stay! The staff are so friendly would do anything for you. One if the staff who we loved was Beer! She was amazing looked after us and made our stay fantastic! She told us all the great places to visit and made us feel so welcome she's a credit to outrigger!! The rooms and food was truly 5 star standard and we wouldn't have changed a thing! Would highly recommend!
Clean room, very comfy bed, strong wifi signal, good food for both breakfast and dinner, nice restaurant view overlooking to the sea, quite beach, green and peaceful resort. Provide free snorkeling mask and shoes, free kayaking. Everything is perfect and couldn't ask for more. Friendly and helpful staff from front office to FB staff. Hotel is only 10 mins to samui airport.
We arrived Fri 2/6 (staying until 15/6) after a delayed flight and were impressed to be welcomed by a warm, friendly and happy front desk lady named Beer. She was very professional as she escorted us to our room and shared with us all the room amenities and VIP long stay complimentary items - which were all amazing. This resort is absolutely beautiful, with breathtaking views, private beachfront and well presented gardens and amenities. Our room is spectacular with our plunge pool, king bed and romantic privacy. The resort food and beverage team at Edgewater restaurant are friendly, happy and enjoy a chat (Nu our bartender has great service and can share some local attractions). The new menu, showcases the talented Chefs culinary skills and quality local produce - it is fantastic! We selected Outrigger Koh Samui resort for the great room price and authentic Thai feel in a paradise surrounding - it certainly exceeded our expectations!! Thank you for making our Honeymoon ever so memorable Emma & Ray Villena
It is our first time to Koh Samui and our friend recommended Outrigger to us as it has a tug pool at a competitive price. We booked the Garden Pool Suite. As we arrived late on the first night, we found that the room was dirty. On the next day, we reported to the situation to the managers, Pat and Louis. They are very considerate and took immediate action by offering another room for us to stay. The staff there are very polite and willing to offer help. The new room is prefect and we had a wonderful time there. The resort is so kind that they offered a surprise birthday cake to celebrate my wife's birthday. The cake is scrumptious and we are grateful with the arrangement. In overall, the resort is very clean and keeps in a good condition. As every suite has a tug pool, the public swimming pool is relatively small. The beach is rocky but the area is clean and the staff are attentive for offering help. The resort provides daily free shuttle bus service to Chaweng which is truly a good activity for budgeted travelers.
Pretty location but the hotel is pretty tired. We upgraded to a room wth a larger pool which was a really nice but we did find that we had a few issues with this room. Housekeeping was pretty hit and miss and our upgraded room definitely lacked in certain areas. A polished concrete floor was absolutely lethal when coming out of the shower. Mosquito's were a bit of a problem and I asked if house keeping could spray round at turn down and light the burner coil and whilst it was done most nights, the burner coil had to be lit by us each night. The shower had a removable wooden floor which was the perfect place for the mosquitoes to hide. The pool was a little tired but spotlessly clean and a lovely temperature. We stayed for eight nights and ate at the restaurant for about 6 of these nights. The food could not be faulted but the restaurant offered no ambience as there was rarely more than two other tables taken! Staff were excellent around the pool and in the restaurant at all times.
I recently stayed at this property and had a really enjoyable stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating (even came to our room to take care of a spider that hid inside the bed; it was really large in our defense, lol; and when not found moved us to a new room for the night - that is above and beyond in my book!). Beer, the property manager is on point and welcoming. Rooms: Very nice, very open private villa with an open feel and private pool and balcony/deck area. Bed: Very comfortable with lots of pillows. A/C: The A/C was not working so well when we arrived, however; they immediately sent an engineer once we notified them and added freon. After that, no issues. Bathroom: Open shower and sink area, solid door to the toilet area. Restaurants and Bar: Great food and service - awesome cocktails (thank you Nu!) Pool Area: Really nice swim-up bar with underwater stools to sit on. It was really nicely laid out. The poolside beds were super comfortable; like laying out on an actual bed. The Beach Area: This was the only thing that was not what I had expected. There is a sandy area with regular lounge chairs, however; there are quite a few rocks and coral formations that come right up to the edge of the water so bring your water shoes. The coral formations bring sea life though and offered the perfect opportunity to try out my new Ninja Snorkel Mask - which worked beautifully by the way. The Spa: Professional, relaxing experience with great therapists. All in all, I have to say, my stay at the Outrigger Koh Samui was fabulous and I would definitely stay at this property again.
We travelled as a couple to this incredible resort and were blown away. Get hotel out of your mind, each 'room' is a secluded stunning villa with its own pool, i'd recommend the ocean view. We visited during low season so the complex did not seem very busy. There is a 7-11 shop at the end of the hotels private road which is ideal. However, getting out and about further requires taxis (reasonably expensive) or hire a moped from the fantastic lady who opens the rental shop in front the hotels main entrance, 200BHT for 24hrs...thats £4, by far the best way to get around the island! The hotel has its own beach, although rocky they provide you shoes. The pool is lovely and there is a variety of loungers, sofas and beds to use. Breakfast is fab as they offer a eastern-meets-western buffet with 2 al-la-carte items also included (pancakes were the best ever)! Eggs Benedict is also a must! We ate in the evenings also at Edgewater, one of the hotels 2 restaurants, a great variety of Thai and western dishes all cooked perfectly. The staff simply cannot do enough for you whether thats remembering your weeks itinerary or their nightly turn down service but mainly their happy caring Thai charm...they completely make the place!! They sort you towels, adjust your sun beds...also help you out when you're stranded on the hotels kayak and about to sink. Outside of the hotel we'd recommend going to the W resort one evening...their cocktails are world-class and the backdrop is breathtaking. Wednesdays they flip a coin and might pay your bill. All in all i had a holiday of a lifetime, this is honeymoon material and would thoroughly recommend. I'd like to thank all the staff for a fab time...we will return :)
