Carlos....Carlos...Carlos....a fabulous host!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Guimaraes. Staying at Dom Jose was perfect...location, access to the garden area in the back, breakfast in the morning and oh did I mention Carlos. He was incredibly helpful with information about the city, restaurants, etc. We did have two rooms...one had a very spacious bathroom, the other was more of a closet so ask for the room with the big bath!

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. The check-in and welcome from Adelaide who was very warm and hospitable. She was friendly and very professional which made the short stay extremely pleasant. The room and amenities were ideal, but a hot water kettle will be useful during the winter season. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay.

Amazing stay at Dom Jose. Rita checked us in and she is amazing. Reached out to me the day before and advised to me that my room would be ready early. She gave great recommendations on things to do and where and what to eat. The room is beyond spacious and beautiful!!!! Really convenient to walk around everything from the hotel. It was a beautiful building and the staff seemed nice. The breakfast was very good. The rooms did not have phones, the doors locked with a key only. The staff was not there from 6 in the evening until 8 in the morning which felt very unsafe to me. The beds were hard and awful, the shower and bathroom was very small and water leaked all over from the shower.
