I was there in March of this year and I was well received from the Staff of the Hotel. They have a great swimming pool area and also a good western breakfast. If you want to go sightseeing you can order for the Concierge the City Map with all sights. There was a cozy bedroom with a comfortable bed and also a good view from the window.
A typical Chinese hotel where many things are overlooked. Hotel staff are very helpful however their English is very poor throughout every department. My wife and I entered our room to find our room having a stale smoke filled odour with the carpet having many cigarette burns and ground in black grease marks in the carpet. We asked for a room change which was attended to very promptly which gave me the impression that they try to give the worst room to tired Western customers and hope they do not complain. We entered our new room which was much better with only a coupe of cigarette burns and only some small black grease spots on the carpet. The rest of the room on first appearance was good as the decoration was first class with the bath room having TOTO bath and fittings so I decided to have a warm soaking bath after our long flight. Well to my total surprise the room was double booked as in came a total stranger who took a look in the bath room and promptly left. I did complain to the front desk who said that management was informed and it would never happen again. I checked with the manager to find he new nothing about it. Very old Chinese approach. We found the most areas of the hotel very dark due to electricity saving efforts. The same applied to our shower which had very low water flow. I am an early riser and like to shave and shower early while my wife still sleeps. This was impossible as the only way to turn off the main room lights using the master switch so I could not turn on the bath room lights and still have the bedroom lights off. Saved a little money but makes the room useless for couples. The room was always very cold even though we adjusted the temperature control to 27 c, the control said it was 27 c but the room was freezing cold. This happens when cheap controls are used which may look good but do not work. The breakfast was extensive but had a very limited choice for a Western breakfast as only the cheapest orange juice and coffee was available. To my surprise they did have smoked salmon which I had the first day, unfortunately it made me slightly sick as I found it was left out at room temperature for a long time, perhaps the left overs form the previous night dinner. The whole experience apart from the staff was very disappointing for a high class hotel. I will never return or recommend this hotel!!
The staff at this hotel were very friendly and had good english skills. The room was suite which was very well laid our, clean and comfortable. The buffet at the in hotel restaurant - the Stage - served lots if good food, hot and very enjoyable. Had a great stay!
We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and very much enjoyed it. The rooms are clean, the staff are very friendly and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The gym is a bit small and they don't have SPA services for some reason.
I stayed here, it was my first visit to China - fantastic hotel, large room friendly staff and a large buffet breakfast. Really nothing to sya that is bad about this hotel would highly recommend to everyone. Shops are just around the corner and they have a free shuttle bus service to Canton Fair
We came to the hotel for business. Front Desk and Concierge were not friendly and helpful at all. Housekeeping, bar staff and breakfast staff were very nice and helpful, some of them talked a little English. The rooms are clean, except the carpets, but that's in many hotels a challenge. The breakfast was every day very good. To get something to eat after 11pm or midnight is a problem. The hotel is in the near of some good restaurants and also the mall of the world is there with a big food section.
The hotel is very clean and staff is helpful. But the nearest Metro station is 15 mins away walking from the Hotel The hotel is 5 mins away walking from the Happy Valley mall where you can go shopping (But the stores are a bit expensive in this mall ) or eat in the Food Court There is also an outdoor cafe outside the mall to sit and enjoy the weather. The breakfast has a large variety from italian &chinese food.
The Reception Desk staff, Concierge, housekeeping and restaurant staff are ever helpful and always smiling, can speak English well =) Good service. Our Deluxe room is 5 star rating! On our first night, one of the ceiling lights got busted and housekeeping was in our room a few minutes after reporting it to the Reception. Buffet at the main restaurant offered the same food the entire time (3D2N nights) we stayed but the choices were good so we didn't mind - except that we noticed the cooks were a little grumpy, none of them are smiling, and avoiding eye contact... maybe because they can't speak English? the grounds are kept clean. Swimming pool is not heated but its summer so its ok, gets colder at night though. The staff at the gym and the pool are very friendly. The spa is ok too and the Chinese dry massage is reasonably priced. The hotel is near a mall - Happy Valley, 10 minute walk.
Nice clean hotel. Staff are professional and helpful. Location is close to restaurants. My main concern is that food room service is not 24 hours, you need yo be prepared with any late food or drink. Near to Fair location with professional shuttle service.
Spent one night here, have been told it was in the financial district and the view from the 12th floor was on to other buildings but I'm sure there is a view somewhere. Room OK but smelt of smoke, large enough and some amenities! Good quality towels. Bed was very hard and did not sleep well at all sadly. Ate at their Stage Restaurant, their buffet breakfast was only average but at night they had a good seafood bar and enjoyed the food they had on offer. Although we were on a non smoking floor this was deliberately flouted by guests a couple of door along with a crowded room and door left open into the hall and all were smoking!! Not pleasant at all!!!
