This hotel is near ITESO, one of the major universities in Guadalajara. I stayed here during a friend's wedding for the weekend and his wedding was located in the exurbs of Guadalajara. The location itself is safe and there is a convenience store, Carl's Jr. and some restaurants in the same complex. The rooms The Holiday Inn Express here has the basics you would want: a comfortable bed, a large room, TV with many channels (Spanish and English), breakfast each morning, and even a small fitness center with a treadmill, elliptical, and bike. That said, there's nothing that's particularly luxurious here. I did go downtown from here, but rides can take 30 minutes just to go 3-4 miles to the center of town. But again, this is a Holiday Inn Express near the airport, not the Intercontinental in downtown. It's still better than most of the Holiday Inn Express'es I've been to in the USA. I wouldn't go here for a romantic getaway, but for solo travel, it has the essentials I need.
I stayed here 3 nights. The property was as good or better than most Holiday Inn Express locations in the U.S. This was in a convenient location, with lots of local restaurants on the same corner (Starbucks, convenience store, wing restaurant, etc). The staff was professional and helpful. The rooms clean and quiet with fast wifi. Free evening snacks and drinks were nice too.
The rooms are quite sizable. The breakfast and the gym simple. The lobby is quite nice. Shower pressure may be a little low at times, but the bed is very comfortable and had great sleep every single night. The walls seemed a little thin as I was able hear next door neighbor.
The place is clean, and the room comfortable, but the lack everything else, the "gym" is just 1 runner, 1 elliptic machine and 1 static bike. Thing so basic as changing the language of the TV was a 1 hr deal!! The walls are so thing that I could hear the guy on the room beside mine cutting his nails. They are getting really cheap on amenities like, they provide Shampoo but no Conditioner. I will avoid staying here again as much as possible.
Stayed for 12 Days so I had an opportunity to experience in depth. Breakfasts menu could use variety from day to day. My biggest issue was the frequent random issues with the cable keeping from fully unwinding after a full day at the office. Staff is friendly.
I was very nicely surprised by this Hotel, I thought that the hotel was going to be ok but to my surprise this was a very friendly and super clean place, the room was amazing had a king bed, the room was so big that you could have put 3 king size beds in it, the hotel staff was always willing to help by giving us information of places to visit or calling taxis for us or simply by giving us toiletries that we had forgotten, this hotel puts to shame the hotel we stayed at in NY and that was a 4 star hotel in my opinion the Holiday inn ITESO deserves 5 stars in my book! Almost forgot, the complimentary breakfast served was Excellent!!!
The hotel is far from the restaurants and bar scene but if you're in town to go to the more tech/industrial tech center, this place is a great fit. The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortably designed and affordable. The front desk people were great, as were the cleaning staff and kitchen. Breakfast is good continental style and they have free beers in the lobby Tuesday-Thursday evenings. Worth it.
I had been to this hotel when it first opened and it has gone down hill big time. The rooms are quite big and the beds are comfy but hygiene and cleaning standards leave much to be desired. The sheets looked like they had been re-used and the bathroom was in desperate need of plain mopping. The breakfast is basic and the watermelon was sour so it was not the first day for it to be on the breakfast table. No room service and the gym is a bit of a joke with a broken treadmill and no weights.
This hotel is very handy, since it has convenience stores and decent variety of restaurants just by stepping out the building. It's not centric, but is kind of near the airport. You have to take a taxi if you want to go to another place in the city.
We spent a weekend at the Holiday Inn Express Iteso. It was very good value for money with a spacious room, good breakfast, great location and very helpful staff. It was easy to reach from the airport and also easily accessible to the Periferico which can connect you to the major points in the city. But, to stay here you need to have a car because there are no taxis available. I recommend this hotel if you are planning to visit Guadalajara for the weekend: cannot comment on traffic on weekdays, but weekend traffic is very light. Enjoy,
