If you need to be next to the hospital, this is the place to be as it is across the street. Having said that, beware as the ambulances come through with their loud sirens at all times in the day and night. The hotel is very basic. Large rooms for in European standards, clean. A nice basic breakfast and snack area. It is a nice walk to the city center where markets and shops are numerous. The hotel is a bit run down but OK. The bathrooms and rooms need a good scrub.
Town, where thousands of students you can come. Nice atmosphere, pretty park, a lot of small restaurants. Beautiful old railway station. The best idea is to rent bicycle and go round trips. There are a lot of interesting museums.
We stayed here three nights for a conference in the University which is just next door. Very convenient for this purpose. Nice, clean rooms, neat decor, good breakfast- cannot complain. The train station is 20-25 minutes walk away but pleasant if it is not raining. We managed both ways! Directions are not difficult. Shops, eateries and the centre are nearby. Very conveniently located.
The hotel located in the heart of Groningen and just opposite to the famous hospital Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen, popularly known as UMCG. Just in front of the hotel buses are there to various important stations and locations. Besides NH, one could have a varieties of entertainments and can have a gala time for purchases. At the back of NH Hotels, there is a market on three days with all varieties from home needs and all other requirements of one and all. The children can have a heart beating and heart breaking jumbo rides. Besides, the hotel is in the midst of residential area, very quiet and pleasant. The hotel has in-house cafeteria and it can be a feast for non-vegetarians. The hotel can provide more vegetarian items to cater to the needs of vegetarians. Those who want to eat vegetarian food can go near by Kohinoor Hotels to cater to the buds of Indians and vegetarians. The hotel rooms are maintained neat and tidy. It costs about $57 per day to stay. The most beautiful thing is to go for a walk in the morning and the Sun never sets down till 8 or 9 pm. The traffic is organised and very less, unlike other countries or cities. The people can see from children to old riding bicycles by just coming out of the hotel . It is a pleasant sight to see and enjoy. The hotel is wifi-free and one can enjoy it and take care of their regular routines-emails, facebook, twitter and whatsapp and browse
This hotel isn't close to the train station but is close to the bars and restaurants in the centre but away from the noise. The rooms are a good size with comfy beds. The pillows were not to be personal taste though. The shower was a good size and very powerful. Nice toiletries too. We didn't have breakfast as this was an additional charge.
Good hotel , near the center just five minutes. Good room with a lot of space. The people on the reception desliga are very polite. Good option for Staying in Groningen, the breakfast is excellent. Good price/quality relation.
Stayed at NH Groningen for a couple of nights while working at UMCG. The hotel is located opposite the UMCG main entrance and a 5 minute walk away from the Groningen city center. As a result, there's a large number of cute restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are of a good size, with comfortable beds and a desk to work at. Everything is clean, with a varied breakfast waiting for you in the morning. We haven't tried the dinner because we wanted to dine in the city itself. Bad things? Parking can be a bit cumbersome and weird: basically you drop the car on the sidewalk in front of the entrance, check-in, receive the parking keycard and drive to the parking on the rear of the hotel. Feels a bit weird and I wonder what happens when the police is around. Other than that, the bathrooms look a bit outdated: purely cosmetic, since they are fully functional and clean. Highly recommended if you're working at UMCG or visiting the city center for a few drinks.
It's ok to stay for few days. But after 2 weeks I can't say it inspires me. Rooms are clean..but so far in 2 rooms I've had twin single beds.. I like to lounge out more in bed. Only had sandwiches from bar restaurant again it's something different set up like a kitchen at home. Just unusual layout maybe
We stayed here one night and had a good night sleep. Bed is comfortable, room is very clean, bathroom is large. No disturbing sounds from outside. The hotel is very well located, you park your car (when you arrive early) at their parking lot behind the hotel (euro 15 per night), and then you can easily walk to the lively center of Groningen.
The hotel is located a short walk through a quiet street from the center and its lively squares, bars and eateries. Rooms are clean and functional and have all you need for a business stay, free power sockets and WiFi (as often on an unencrypted network, sigh). Breakfast buffet is very nice and quickly restocked, personnel at the front desk efficient and friendly. The hotel has available parking (15€/day) which is convenient.
