Business traveller to this hotel. Very comfortable, rooms clean and functional. The weather was a bit of a hurricane whilst there so ate for two nights at the hotel. I had the bavette steak, with frittes. it was mouth watering, so had the same again the next night. Breakfast also good but al little confusing on how to make the self service concept work. Don't be afraid to ask.

We stayed just 1 night as attending University open day. 10-15 mins picturesque walk from the university. 10 minute cab ride from train station. Lovely, modern, well equipped and comfortable twin room. Very quiet, no noise from other rooms/corridor/road. Excellent customer service, very friendly staff. One nice feature is that the dining room (NOSH) is designed to look like a home kitchen, so has a really relaxed communal feel. Small menu, but excellent quality.

This hotel was recommended by my daughter for being very good and good value for money and she is absolutely right! The staff were very helpful and accommodating, the room was spacious and clean, Perfect location for eating and places of interests. Buffet breakfast was excellent- the highlight of our stay! Would definitely stay again.

Well this hotel does exactly what it says on the box!!! Spacious and comfortable as well as being ideally placed!! Staff were all lovely being courteous, friendly & helpful!! Great value for mo eh & highly recommended!!

I became a member of NH hotels a few months ago when my son went to an university in Groningen, The Netherlands. Of course I have a membership number in these hotels. Yesterday I received an email from NH Hotels that there were special days of discounts up to 30 % and more specificaly 25% off for booking hotels in The Netherlands. The advert shows the following: (Discount applied on the best available rate at hotels included in the promotion, for accommodation only or accommodation and breakfast. Offer available only on this website or via the Central Reservations Office for current or new NH Rewards members. The NH Rewards discount is already included. To benefit from this exclusive offer, enter your membership details or subscribe for free during the booking process using the NH Rewards Tab and confirming you wish to sign up for the NH Hotel Group Rewards Programme. Pre-paid, non-refundable rate and subject to availability for this rate. Changes or cancellations are not permitted. The rate may not be available in case of high occupancy.) Unfortunately what I realised was that if I logged into my account without using the special link they gave me, I was supposed to get a cheaper price than what they advertised. With my membership I was supposed to pay for 3 nights nonrefundable rate without breakfast the amount of 242 euro. Their advert for the same conditions not only showed more expensive amount of 249 euro, but there was no 25% off. The best price of 242 euro I was suppose to be getting was because I was a member and not because I used the special days link they sent to me.. Therefore I chat with them, then I called - the first operator interrupted me all the time and did not leave me any space to explain. A minute she close the line the advert of 242 euro disappeared. The other operator I spoke to kept me for 40 min on the line and after some check-ups with the managers she said that the advert was wrong. She wanted me to send screenshots with proves and she wanted me to forward them to the people in charge. I asked: 'Why should I send them? How it would help me to get the 25% you promised if I followed the special link?' She answered 'You would help all our customers because our department would fix the misleading information.' Then she kept me again on the line and finally she said: 'I know what was wrong - actually you really get a 25%discount but not from the nonrefundable price of 249 euro for you room that you are seeing now, but from the Pay at the hotel Rate which is 332 euro and after the discount is made, the price becomes 249 euro - this is the nonrefundable rate that you see on our website' At the end of the call I was a reasonably emotional because they not only lied to all of us but it took them 40 min. to invent this crazy idea about how you get discounts if you chose Pay at the hotel rate but it changes to a Pay immediately rate. I could chose Pay immediately rate any way. I asked her why she spent my time for not helping and she said 'You said not yours but my time' To finalize: I had never seen before such a misleading and incorrect marketing campaign of a big hotel brand like this. Be careful guys when you book with NH Hotels

I've been staying at the NH Groningen almost every week for work for the past six months, and I only have positive things to say about this hotel. The staff is always friendly and professional, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is tasty, and they even have a gym! What I also love about this hotel is that they have a dinner buffet. They usually make a couple of tasty dishes, and this is definitely the quickest dinner option in town. They also have a fridge with sandwiches and other smaller food options that is available 24 hours a day so that no matter when you arrive, you can grab something to eat. In summary, this hotel is very convenient for business trips (their check-in / check-out is quick and they are close to the centrum and UMCG) and I always enjoy my stay.

A very good **** hotel. Close to the center, with parking place, even you have to pay 15€ for it. The rooms are not too big but clean and the bad very comfortable. Also the bath are very nice. The personal was very kind.

Modern hotel 10 min walk from city centre, you can also rent a bicycle right at the reception desk! Sometimes they do run out of bikes, though. Very friendly staff, nice gym on the top floor, rooms are spacious and clean, with an especially nice view of the city from the 5th floor upwards. Highly recommended!

Couldn't fault our stay here. Stayed for two nights nice room, friendly staff and good breakfast. Added bonus left on Sunday when breakfast served until midday and allowed a 5pm checkout which was really useful. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a reasonable location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is limited and outside of the hotel not easy or very expensive. Rooms are ok if a bit dated. Breakfast is ok but none of the food available is covered and loaves of bread having nothing to cover when holding to cut meaning that many hands have touched them before you take your slice (did these people wash there hands?)
