Very nice hotel just in the centre of Groningen. Old traditional atmosphere and modernizes to today's standards. Second time here. Very good choice for breakfast. Good service. Groningen is beautiful and the Groninger Museum is grear!!
I had stayed in Martini Hotel for five days from May 21, 2017. The Hotel is situated in the heart of Groningen. The hotel rent varies depending upon season. Normally it is $90 to $100 per day. The hotel has compact rooms, even though it is not very big.But the hotel is very well maintained. You don't get coffee or tea as a compliment , which is normally done in big hotels. Just opposite the hotel , famous Grote Market is there, besides the bus stop, which links to various destinations. The location of the hotel is very easy and comfortable. One can walk down to famous Groningen Museum and near by various restaurants to satisfy one's taste buds. In the hotel, there is down below a bar.
Enjoyed my stay in this hotel. First of all, location is just perfect! Oldtown is just on the other side of the road. Everything is so close that you can walk there. Room was well equipted and cozy as a hotel itself. Downstairs there's a bar and a restaurant. Dinner was really good, but something still missing (4 out of 5). Hotel suggests breakfast for visitors, there's a minimum variety of dishes served, atleast won't be starving. Liked their scrambled eggs with bacon on top + fresh orange juice. If you prefer minimalism in your own room, cozy surroundings at the lobby - say yes for this place.
Hotel is quite dull 1970s style and needs serious updating. Breakfast uninspiring .Room very basic, no bottled water, no tea/ coffee making facility, really noisy, Dirty carpet, dull and minimalist very small bathroom. Would never return. On check out lady was very rude, asked if I wanted to pay in euros or dollars ?? Put card into machine and asked her what was best, she rudely answered I don't know In not a nice tone. Due to this the machine timed out, which she wasnt happy with. I tried to explain the machine asked me to pay In Euros or sterling NO mention of dollars.i tried to explain she had got it wrong, but she blanked me. No questions if I had enjoyed my stay, was everything ok, NO absolutely nothing!!! Disgraceful arrogance.
We booked our room last minute. This was absolutely no problem, we had a clean and cosy room, very friendly people and a good service. The location is superb. The restaurant was opened until 11pm. Breakfast was great as well. When we visit Groningen again, we would choose the Martini Hotel again.
I stayed here only one night however during that time period I was satisfied by the service. With my boyfriend, we booked the place one hour before getting there and they, either way, were well organized and really helpful. The room itself was a double bedroom with a private bathroom. It had everything needed for a stay and was quite comfortable and clean. I really liked the bed which was quite cozy and comfortable, I just have a slight remark regarding the heating, cus it took a bit long for the room to heat up. Apart from that, the toilet was clean as well, although the shower was a bit too narrow for my taste.
The Martini Hotel is well located, few minutes away from the city centre, traun station also walk distance. The staff is friendly and ready to help. We were here 2 adults and our son (10 month old). The economy room was small, but ok according to the price-we take room without the breakfest, 12,50 € for person and breakfest was a lot. You can buy cheaper one around, but its depend on the wishes. Room was ok, but its smelled on the toilet and the carpet in the room was also old and dirty.
Small cozy room with everything needed. Staff was friendly and helpful and location was perfect. Since everything attraction, restaurant, café, store or any other convenience is only 5-10 minutes away, your stay can't be simpler.
Arriving by train to Groningen we headed for the taxi rank and was told - no - just walk over there and turn right - so maybe 8 minutes walk. Located within the city centre which was a lively throng of young adults (apparently Uni was due back that week) with outdoor cafes buzzing. As you enter the Martini Hotel there is a very large bar area on the left (where breakfast is served) and entry to a Michelin Star Restaurant on the right. Reception is small but efficient and friendly. It's an older hotel but a modern lift has been installed - even so when it reached our floor there was still a few stairs to reach our area (not a problem for us but may be for some - so ensure you ask for a level entry room). Our room was very basic - a double bed with bedside tables was the width of the room - a desk and chair was at one end and a cupboard - a door between led to a small ensuite. Not much space for our suitcases. We opened the windows as it was warm - there was heating but not air conditioning. Everything was clean and it was value for money paid. Maybe there are other styles of rooms available.
Stayed 2 nights here, and found hotel to be very relaxing and affordable. Rooms were good, quiet, beds very comfortable, although do like a bit more privacy in a bathroom! Spacious and relaxing bar area, friendly staff, and great location for wandering about.
