The hotel is absolutely stunning and in the perfect location. I can pick no faults my stay was perfect in every way from the lovely friendly staff to the amazing food/drinks and facilities. Go ahead and book you definitely wont be disappointed!
We have stayed here several times in the past. It's a great location when attending near-by events and it is a good hotel but sadly our most recent visit wasn't up to scratch. Our room on the 16th floor was just so warm that we couldn't get a good nights sleep. We reported the issue at 0700. I wanted to change hotels at this point but the chap at the desk said he would get maintenance to sort so I let my wife convince me to stay. We were out for most of the day and returned circa 1500hrs and just after this the maintenance man turned up. I told him how stifling the temperature in the room had been the previous night. He held his hand up to the ac vent and said "I can feel the col air, it's working fine" I asked why was it so warm then. He told me it was because it was warm outside - clearly doesn't understand the concept of air conditioning. He did though offer us a fan which we accepted - too late at this time to change hotels. The fan was effective but unfortunately it just a little quieter than a 747! Not good enough! Paid a lot of money for two nights poor sleep. A smaller issue but still annoying - my wife popped down to the executive lounge for a cold drink only to find the swipe card not working. This seemed a common complaint.
A large chain hotel but in a great location and with spectacular views of Glasgow from some of the bedrooms. Situated on the clyde and beside the SEC and the Hydro is a great place to stay for concerts. Nice seating area outside. Corridors are quiet and rooms are large with great beds, fully equipped with the essentials. Good bathrooms with lovely toiletries. Spotlessly clean throughout. The spa and reception bar are nicely decorated and worth visiting but some other areas are a wee bit tired. Fabulous breakfast but buffet lunch a bit stodgy and pre cooked. Evening meal good but some second choices required as things had ran out. Overall get a good price then worth stopping over here.
Stayed for four nights, including a Friday night. As an IHG Platinum Elite member I expect a high standard from this level of IHG hotels. Promises from staff and managers were consistently broken and service was poor. The hotel seemed overrun with conference and show attendees - with little concern for those actually staying at the hotel. There was two exceptions Connor and Maggie bar staff did their best to please. Exec Room - shower unable to get cool enough to stand under it. Otherwise of good standard and clean. If you want a relaxing Friday evening in the bar - forget it! The stress of fighting your way to get a drink is only surpassed by trying to get a table at breakfast next morning! Less of a relaxing destination- more of a challenge to be encountered!
Myself and 2 other colleagues had a brilliant experience staying at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow! There was a bit of confusion getting to the hotel as there a roadblock by the entrance, which was however waived as we were guests at the hotel. The check in process was easy and efficient by a more than helpful member of staff who also signed us all up as IHG members for future stays with the group. We arrived late after a long day at a nearby business so we decided to have a meal in the hotel, can recommend the hot counter service which is a set price and consists of a set starter from a choice and then a help yourself from the counter of various meat and veg dishes all were superb, the prices were a tad strap in my opinion however this was being paid by the business so was not an issue on this occasion The rooms are huge and have more amenities than you could use, especially having a room to myself it felt even more luxurious. Being near the lift shaft you did hear a little bit of activity earlier on in the night but nothing to be concerned about. Breakfast was a set price and consisted of a cooked Scottish and mixed continental split. Both were of great quality. A colleague used the pool early in the morning and said that it was a great pool for a little morning workout. Would happily stop in the CP Glasgow again and I hope my stay at the CP Manchester Airport is going to be as good of a stay as this was
Stayed over a weekend as had a trade show at the SECC. The reception was busy but soon got checked in, though had to wait an age for the lift, but when it arrived it was very fast. The room was very nice with an enormous bed, and the breakfast was tasty. The bar is a bit pricey, but to be expected.
Nice, clean hotel. Stayed after a gig. Reception staff and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and well presented. Only slight downside - bed covers were winter type and too warm for the weather (air con didn't help).
Anytime I am up in Glasgow I stay at the crowns plaza. It's a lovely hotel sitting right on the river Clyde, The staff are always helpful and the rooms are nice. Although we upgraded to the club room for £60 I think it was and to be honest there wasent much difference apart from the club room. It has a very limited drinks menu and the breakfast is continental.
I enjoyed stay at Crown Plaza hotel, the location of the hotel is very good. my room on the 15th floor with nice view from the window. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. I will definitely return in the future.
I previously stayed here in January 2017 for 2 nights where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, spa treatments, leisure facilities and so we decided to come back. This time we, again, booked a king size room and also a spa package deal for each of us which included a 30 minute treatment and a 2 course lunch and drink. Upon check in we went up to our room - but to our disappointment it was a standard double sized bed. We had specifically ordered a king and paid for a king so i phoned reception. The receptionist wasn't very helpful at all but put me on hold and then the reception manager came on. I explained the situation to her and said we had stayed before and this wasnt the king sized bed we had last time. She promptly got a concierge member of staff to show us a different room which we were much happier with, which had the king size bed we had ordered! Very happy with the swift resolution the reception manager found for us. Had a lovely night in the hotel, though the rooms are a bit stuffy even with the air con on, which is also noisy if needing it on through the night which we needed on both our stays so would be good if the windows opened slightly. The beds are luxuriously comfy, the room is always cleaned to perfection and the complimentary sleep inducing sprays, little chocolates and the variety of toileties they supply is what makes this hotel extra special. Their shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion is fantastic! Made by a company called BeeKind i had not heard of before and they give generous samples which is great if you have long thick hair! The standard (later than most places!) check out time of 12 noon is great, as it gives you that little extra time to sleep in without the stress of having to get up super early and get packed and out by 10am, since the whole point of a night away is to relax this is a great addition to your stay at Crowne Plaza. During check out the receptionist told us about the loyalty membership that the hotel company do and the benefits of being a member (which doesnt cost btw and you earn points on your stays etc and can get a free stay when you have so many points!). At our stay in january the receptionist never made us aware of this so i found the receptionist extremely knowledgeable and helpful this time. We then headed to the spa reception, booked ourselves in for our treatments and went for the 2 course lunch that was included in the spa package we chose. The food was exceptional. Couldnt fault it in any way. The restaurant staff member that served us went out of his way to give us the best service possible. We then went to use the leisure facilities which is always my favourite part of being at Crowne Plaza. The swimming pool is a perfect temperature and its spacious and clean. The jacuzzi bath is amazing. I could stay in there all day its so warm and bubbly. The only dissapointment is every 15 minutes or so you have to get out while the jacuzzi does its self clean process! I used the steam room and sauna on our previous stay - both thoroughly enjoyable. I personally prefer the steam room to the sauna as the sauna is a dry heat that hurts my throat slightly whereas the steam room is amazing, warm, steamy and a good amount of seating and smells amazing - full of essential oils! Finally we had our massages which, as always, were relaxing and just what we needed. Overall this hotel is 5 stars for me. Its a lovely hotel. Lovely staff. Lovely food. Lovely facilities and a great view as well as location for the SECC and Hydro as well as just a 10 minute taxi journey into town. Saying that though, with the amazing food and wide selection of drinks at the bar i would struggle to find a reason to need to go into town! I am already looking forward to my next stay! Photos attached are the BeeKind shower gel, the lunch we got, view from the room and the first room (not a king size bed) and then the second room which is a king size to be able to see the difference between the two bed sizes.
