Great location, friendly staff and newly refurbished rooms. The free shuttle to station was much appreciated. We were travelling on a rail pass and were between the Bernina Express and Glacier Express. Unfortunately we were just before the summer season started and not many things were open in town.
This small hotel was a real jewel. The rooms were very comfortable and the location was right in the heart of the town. Staff was exceptionally helpful. Getting used to all the keys took some learning, but not difficult. The bakery connected to the hotel was outstanding and items were served for breakfast. Very good restaurant.
We stayed here in May 2017 for one night - we would have liked to stay longer! We were kindly collected from the railway station and driven back there the next day. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a safe in our room, which previous hotels did not have. We were pleasantly surprised to have a balcony off our room, which previous hotels reserved for smokers (we are non smokers). We had a great view from the balcony. The chocolate shop at the hotel is fabulous. Breakfast was very good and again the staff in the restaurant were excellent. Our room was very clean, spacious and restful and the bathroom was excellent. St Moritz was still "asleep" with most shops closed, but this is a great hotel and we would readily stay there again.
The room seems to be newly furnished. I love the wood material that they used inside each room. (I can still smells the aroma from the wood itself). You can also request a wood shaves pillow. It gave me very good sleep that night. The view from the room is not bad too!
You can eat well in St Moritz and spend a fortune, you can arrive at the wrong time of year to find the place asleep (because the season hasn't yet started). We stopped en route back to Lake Como and we were looking for lunch. Cafe Hauser fit the bill perfectly. Our sandwiches were of such generous proportions that dinner was cancelled. The food was excellent, the dishes served at other tables looked equally inviting, service was efficient and friendly - and for S Moritz the price we paid was good value. We would definitely come back..
Laudable as its ethical and local sourcing of materials is, The Hauser seems more concerned with this and its wooden furniture, gathered by the light of the moon, or something similar, than it is in the other things that make for a good guest experience.. The food was poorly cooked (soggy battered fish for example), except at breakfast where there was no hot food (except at a price). They were able to provide a kettle for the room at no charge but informed me that teabags were 1 Franc each - I declined this offer and went to the nearby Co-Op and bought my own. For all their efforts in other directions, I will always think of this hotel as "the place that tried to charge me for tea bags".
The hotel was modern and a good location in town. It also offered a free shuttle from the train station at certain timing. The room was very spacious with nice smelling wood furniture. The bed was too hard for my liking though. Appreciated the free bottle of sparkling water in the room. Free wifi provided. The hotel had its own restaurant and pastry shop offering chocolates, cakes and pastries. We loved the chocolate cake! They serve American breakfast and it was ok. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.
We stayed for one night at Hauser Hotel and I'd definitely stay there again. It is clean, spacious and well located. The rooms are comfortable and well designed and our room had a quirky back-story about the Moon Wood used to make the furniture. The staff are really good; knowledgeable, friendly and very keen to help. For us, the added bonus was that Hauser has it's own good quality restaurant. We arrived in the evening after a long train trip and anyone in this position will know that the last thing you want to do after checking in is go out and find a place for dinner. No negatives, this is an excellent hotel.
We were very impressed with this property. The room was quite large and well appointed in a minimalist fashion. Very quiet and comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant as it was cold and snowing upon our arrival. The service and food was delicious. We also had breakfast included in our stay and the selection was diverse and fresh with wonderful coffee all served by a friendly and efficient staff person. The front desk receptionist was very accommodating to us upon arrival and check out. Be sure and use the hotel transfer to and from the train station if you arrive via train. Highly recommend this property for location, great price and service.
We stayed in this hotel for 2 night in April and love the place. the staffs are very friendly and helpful, the room is very clean and spcious. wished that we could have stayed longer. will go back next time when visit St Moritz.
