The room smelled strongly of stale smoke, the sheets were thin and scratchy, and the shower head was filthy and covered with unknown muck.
No shampoo/conditioner/lotion. Looked run down. Not worth the cost at all.
Property had very dark areas, very noisy, a lot of questionable people staying there(like drug addictions, human traffickers, people looking like they could steal your belongings, etc.) Room was very dirty. Room smelled like body order. Trash on floor.
The room was below average in quality. Upon checking in we were told that there was "no towel service" which meant that if we wanted new towels we had to take the used ones to the lobby and trade for new ones. We were also told on check in that housekeeping would leave our stuff alone and clean around it. But house keeping did not ever show in the 3 nights we spent at the property. They didn't even empty the trash in our room and the trash out by the stairs was overflowing. Might be time for new management. All of these money saving features should be in the hotel discription on the orbitz site.
Pet friendly, and location. Didn’t like that room needed maintenance attention like tub draining slow, iron being broken and bathroom exhaust fan, not working.
I had *assumed* a Howard Johnson would be nice… first they share a lobby with the motel 8 next door, so that’s where I checked on and it felt like I was staying at a motel 8. The “breakfast” included was a “gab-n-go” which ended at 9a, so I missed it anyway - who ends breakfast at 9a? It’s clear the owner (who also owns the motel 8) is cheaply using the pandemic mentality to cut corners and save money to boost profits… keep in mind this is Arizona and the pandemic is long over. The bed had a very visible massive sink divot in it. When I got in, it created a huge air bubble under the sheet. Quite uncomfortable sleep. The pillows were tiny and flat. The floors were uneven. The couch in room had visible dust/dirt in the corners. There was hair in the shower. I felt very unclean in the room.
Stay away! This property is not what is advertised. The pool is empty. The ice machine is broken. There is no breakfast, just a brown bag granola bar. There is a large homeless camp next to the parking lot with drug zombies wandering around. The roof needs replacement.
Quiet and clean.
Nice facility, comfortable bed, quiet even though very close to freeway.
The selection for food to go for breakfast was limited to frosted donuts and granola bar. No fruits offered
It’s a little dirty on the outside but the rooms are very clean.
The interior seemed to be renovated, however the exterior of the property and pool were run down. Not the best :/
Nice room
So I would recommend this “hotel” to anyone that is just looking to get a quick night’s sleep to break up a road trip. For all other purposes, you should splurge the extra $20 and get a room at a slightly nicer hotel. This property is at the end of the street where several hotels seem to be, and it is moderately sketchy in terms of safety. I checked my car once or twice before I settled down for the night. I do want to say, however, that the bed - despite being an old school spring mattress - and the room were very nice. You sort of step into an entirely different environment when you go into the rooms, that are accessed motel-style from the outside. The room could have easily been in a Hilton or a Marriott name brand hotel and it would’ve still seemed nice. If they could invest a few dollars to improved the exterior, I’d suggest this hotel for all purposes. I hope that this review helps everyone, and I hope that y’all have safe travels!
The contents of the breakfast bag was not at all healthy. A "juice" box, powdered doughnuts and mini muffins with sprinkles in them won't get you through a morning of sightseeing let alone hiking. Had to buy alternate breakfast items at Walmart.
Beautiful scenery and rite in the down town area. Not far from snow bowl and alot of things to do in flagstaff
Room was not cleaned well, property seemed unkept.
