NH Granada Centro4.0 out of 5.0

NH Centro has an excellent location, on feet you reach Alhambra, the old town and the rest of the city center in a few minutes, cant be better! And, for the record, They do offer parking fascilities in their basement if driving into town. The Hotel itself offer all What is needed, quiet, calm and comfy rooms, good beds, room enough to move a bit while waiting to hit the vibrant nightlife of Granada.... and the ambience and the service level is High at NH. Did not check out their (relatively) pricy breakfast, but from distance it looked cool enough. NH, Maybe we meet again...!
We spent the night at the NH Hesperia a.k.a NH Granada Centro, on our way back from skiing in Sierra Nevada. The room was spotlessly clean, well proportioned and felt quite traditionally Spanish yet modern. Had everything we needed-coffee machine, kettle, tea, bath robes, slippers, toiletries, hairdryer and flat screen TV. The hotel was very difficult to find using GPS. Lots of narrow, one way streets. I would suggest you contact the hotel for directions beforehand. Apparently Booking.com provide directions with the confirmation so it was our own fault we got lost! However, it was well worth the effort. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. There is underground parking for around €20 a day. Very tight entrance and allocated space. We stayed on what is the Spanish Christmas Eve, 5th January. Consequently the town was heaving with kids and parents desperate to see the Three Kings parade which was spectacular. Float after float of people throwing literally tonnes of sweets into the crowd. Because it was so busy we ate in the hotel restaurant. We got in early which was just as well as it filled up very quickly when the parade finished. The waiter didn’t speak much English, but that is an observation, not a criticism and we got by. The menu isn’t very extensive e.g. if you want meat you can have veal 4 different ways or pork 4 different ways and the descriptions got lost in translation. We had 2 mains, ordered a salad after reading a Tripadvisor review saying the mains didn’t come with vegetables. Had a bottle of very reasonably priced wine (€16) and it all came to about €60. Breakfast was lovely, (breakfast staff spoke English) eggs, bacon, sausage available and cooked fresh to order. Large selection of breads, cereal, cheese, ham etc, tortilla and fruit. Cost around €17 each. The hotel is walking distance to the cathedral which was lovely to visit. If you want to go to the Alhambra Palace be sure to book well in advance as they are fully booked for a couple of weeks. The receptionist advised us that if we went onto the palace web site at midnight it’s possible to get returned tickets. Alas, we were well tucked up in bed by then. However we will be more organised next time we are in Granada. Would I stay at this hotel again? A resounding YES, we will. It’s lovely.
The rooms are clean and inviting. Personal at check in are very service minded. Minus = bad food in the restaurant. One of us ordered Tournedo and got pork tenderloin and the chicken was over cooked . Talked to the manager and he didn’t care
We stayed here for four nights during a two-week trip around Spain. The location is great. Tucked away in an old quarter, close to the centre. Getting there by car was tricky at first - escepically considering the restrictions the city places on cars in the historic centre. But the hotel emailed us detailed instructions in advance, and we got there without any trouble. Ignore your GPS and just follow their instructions. There is underground parking right at the hotel, and there’s seemed to be lots of space. They suggest calling ahead, but I suspect that there’ll be room for you - at least in the off season. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Being part of a big chain, they were very professional. The hotel is beautiful. Obviously very old, but nicely - and newly - renovated to modern standards. The room was gorgeous - a step well above any other place we stayed in Spain. And yet, the rate was extremely reasonable. Far less than we paid in several other cities. Breakfast was available in the restaurant downstairs, but we didn’t partake. It seemed over-priced relative to what’s available steps away on the main street.
I stayed in NH Granada Centro for 2 nights. The hotel has some identity issues since the name outside is different (very confusing). Also it is obvious it’s a 3 star hotel, the front desk hardly said anything when we walked past. Our room was clean, nothing special in decor or anything. View was 1 meter to another building. The room was very hot, so we had to sleep the window open. Beakfast was very nice. Only minus comes from the bread selection: poorly baked pre baked rolls and toasts from a plastic bag! The location of this hotel os perfect! Close to everything in the city!
This is a lovely hotel. It is beautifully appointed with an authentic Andalusian charm. The staff were all friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was big, very clean and comfortable. We booked bed and breakfast for three nights and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is close enough to the Alhambra, the Albaycin, Sacremento, the cathedral and Royal Chapel to walk everywhere if you're fit enough. But buses run from the main street just 5 minutes walk away.
We spent two nights in this hotel. It was a very nice hotel. Our room was nice, clean and big enough. We were on the ground floor and I was suspecting a lot of noise in the evening, but it was fine. The breakfast was good. Most of what we wanted to see in Granada was within walking distance. Tons of restaurants nearby. The city is incredibly interesting. See the caves, Albaicin and of course, the Alhambra. It could be hard to find, however, we had a taxi driver. If you plan to get there on your own, make sure your GPS is updated! Staff are very helpful. Would love to return some day.
We stayed here for 3 nights in October, coinciding with National Day. The place was buzzing but service was good and our room was quiet - quite a small bed for a double room but the bathroom was large and spacious. Breakfast buffet was really good, wide variety of good quality food and drink. Reception staff very helpful, especially in organising our private transfer collecting us. It's not the easiest of places to drive up to if you have a big car, as our driver from Malaga discovered, as it is down a narrow street. But if on foot - nice and central. We would definitely return.
Don't be put off when your taxi stops in a little square down a narrow cobbled street and you are faced with a uninviting first sight of the hotel.Once you pass through the modern automatic door everything changes. The reception is bright and airy comfortable and welcoming and the staff could not be more helpful whether on arrival with assistance throughout your stay. The room was excellent, spacious spotlessly clean and well equipped and the same can be said of the bathroom and the hotel in general. It is very well located just a short walk to various squares and side streets full of bars restaurants and local shops and a main shopping street with Zara etc just 2 mins walk away. The only tiny failing was the price of the breakfast but actually this just encouraged us to stroll to one of the many local haunts to eat tomato on toast and drink very good tea or coffee at silly prices.Overall the hotel contributed to a very enjoyable stay in Granada , we have already recommended it to friends who are visiting next year and should we return we will definitely stay there .again
Charming hotel in a perfect location once you get to it. The only criticism we had was what I also made the property so great. It was hard to drive to. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff friendly, helpful and engaging
