Hotel Alhambra Palace

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Beautiful hotel worth the splurge, especially if you book it early. Fantastic views and you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the village below when having a morning coffee or afternoon merienda on the patio. You can take a bus into town for 1.3 euros if you want a way cheaper and better breakfast. The room was a little cramped but you shouldn't be spending that much time in your room when you are in Granada. If you need an adrenaline rush do the Granada Grand Prix-take a taxi from the Mirador San Nicolas (fantastic views of La Alhambra at night) down the hill and then back up to the hotel. Definitely get your blood flowing. We would definitely stay at least one night here if we return to Granada in the future.

Gorgeous hotel with stunning views of the city. Easy access to cafes, shopping, and restaurants.

We were assigned two rooms that were beyond small and had bathrooms the size of a small closet. In the morning the desk personnel said they had no other rooms available. That afternoon they found two rooms that were a tad bit better. The WiFi did not work during our entire stay. The food was average at best. The service slow and perfunctory. Takeaway the location and history and you have nothing. Do NOT recommend staying here, the hotel has outlived its reputation.

Was excellent, the view amazing. The restaurant's view awesome and the food the best great ingredients very good quality.

This is a great hotel. Beautiful and luxurious. If you can afford the prices, there is nothing better in Granada particularly if you want to spend time around Alhambra and Plaza Neuvo.

This hotel is perched right next to the Alhambra, affording a fantastic view of Granada. In addition it is a great hotel, with a very friendly and helpful staff and having a terrific restaurant. At night the lights of Granada which we could view both from our room and the dining room are exquisite.

The common areas of the hotel were beautiful. The view from the bar area was breathtaking. The hotel is in an excellent location. The bathroom in my room had a strange odor. I noticed there was some dirt in my bathtub. The last day after I showered, I heard running water. When I went in the bathroom, water was coming out of a vent into my shower from the room upstairs. The occupants above me were taking a shower, and their dirty water, and dirt from the vent were coming into my shower. I notified the front desk, however I don't know if it was rectified since I checked out that day.

The room is clean, the hotel staff is friendly, but the pictures on the internet drive your expectation way ahead, like if you were staying at a palace, but that`s not the truth. It`s an average 4 stars hotel.. It`s a very nice arabic style hotel, anyone can go to the main room to profit from this style and have a wine, beer or tea. Even though it`s a walking distance from downtown, there is a very steep street to reach the hotel, making you dependant on taxis...

Just down street from Alhambra. Overlooks city. Great service, Great Breakfast. Rooms have great view, but hotel is pretty old but in good condition. Overall, not inexpensive, two twins are pushed together for a double. Not premium beds. Next time I'd probably take a cab up to the Alhambra and find a first class hotel for less in town.

Clean room but not really 4 star. Hotel decor nice but a little staged.

We had trouble finding the hotel, since there was minimal signage from the Alhambra Palace grounds to direct us to the hotel, and parking was definitely a problem. The staff at the hotel were very helpful, friendly, and spoke English well. Our room on the 4th floor was excellent, with a huge balcony and wonderful views of the city. However, given the marble floors, exquisite woodwork, and the overall elegance of the hotel, we were puzzled why our room had very dated plumbing fixtures and badly-worn carpet, as well as torn carpet on the stairway which were inconstent with the rest of the hotel's quality features. But worst of all, our showers were not pleasant--the water temperature kept alternating between warm, cold, and hot. Given these problems, we thought the hotel was overpriced.

We were in Granada only two days, so it takes awhile to get your bearings on where you are in relation to things to do and see. Located on a relatively steep hillside, the Palace hotel is within easy walking distance of the city center ("i.e. downhill) After a hot, sweaty walk up the hill back to the hotel we discovered the 1.25 Euro bus trip to be well worth the money!. Tha Alhambra itself is a short uphill walk from your hotel and is easily reached in ~10 minutes. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and maintained with gracious service, large rooms, a bathtub and shower. Nice terrace overlooking the city too! All in all a good stay.
