Having booked through Jet2holidays the hotel looked amazing on the website and so to on here. Having read reviews I was excited for our stay. 3 of us shared a double superior consisting of two single beds and a double sofa bed. Now there's two parts to this hotel, the older apartments (which are slowly being re vamped) and the main hotel having been done up. I requested the newer hotel as wasn't sure when booking where I might have been allocated. Check in:- arriving with a few other parties we were welcomed in a timely manor, having the options of food etc explained, we were half board but had heard about up grading to all inclusive. I highly recommend you only book half board through your tour operator and pay the hotel directly as it's far cheaper! 15 Euro a day a real deal. If you wanted the gold all inclusive this was an extra 15 Euro a day. Gold is all branded drinks, no limits on what time you can be served till, use of exclusive area containing hot tubs, beds and waiter service for drinks, beach towels, fresh water for room every day, use of al a carte restaurant for main meals. Having got our electric key cards we got a safe which was 3 Euro a day plus 12 Euro deposit. This was peace of mind to lock valuables away. A bit pricey but better safe than sorry? The Room:- beautiful room, great size, large balcony with brilliant views. Beds comfy, pillows ok. Linen good quality, towels as expected. A little fridge, some little hot drinks making, other bath toiletries, bath room shower was amazing! Aircon worked a treat for us, after learning how to use it. To keep it on I used a loyalty card to put into card slot to keep power on in the room. Staff:- the maids worked so hard and every couple of days unless you requested it as you could have the bedding changed so to towels. I tipped ours 3 times as nothing was to much trouble, Entertaining staff (animation) worked really hard to provide different activities, none we did but plenty of other guests took part. We found them very friendly and always said hello and took time to ask about the holiday, Buffet restaurant staff, some where friendly but most had attitudes. My friend was told off after getting a set of cutlery off another table as ours was missing a set, if there had been an area where we could have grabbed it from we would have, not to be spoken to like a child. Bar staff again some friendly some not so much. Didn't let it spoil our holiday. Food:- the main buffet restaurant always had something to eat, those who I note had moaned before, really? How can you not have found something with such vast choice! The bar areas outside which was two as there were two pools always bad snacks during day if you didn't fancy the buffet restaurant. The al a carte restaurant you could only use once if all inclusive as you had too book in, if you was gold you can book all the time. We used this for a birthday meal and really enjoyed it! The service was top marks. The Food top marks! Really nice relaxing vibe to it. Wished we was gold now! The pool areas;- there's 2 of them one main pool next to hotel and another next to the apartment block. The quieter of which is by apartments. Plenty of sun beds, and great sun traps. When gay pride was on the hotel had flags all around have pool area and made a fuss of the guests celebrating. This was a nice touch for the guests who had came away for this, however once pride had finished the mood changed, flags taken down on the Monday, guest mixed changed. Now this hotels main customer seems to be French, then Polish, then English once pride had finished. Not the hotels fault but I found the French to be rather rude. I would say if you are wanting a quieter break away in beautiful grounds I would pick this. If your younger then no wouldn't say this place is for you. It suited our groups needs and glad I experienced it . Because of little things like some of the staffs attitudes, no fresh water in room every day, a separate outside area for smokers( as they could smoke anywhere outside meaning passive smoking everywhere) the tables next next to each other. The rudeness of some of the other hotel guests I can't award a 5 star. I personally won't be back unless more of my group wanted to re book again in the future. Met some amazing other guests whilst there.

Overall enjoyable holiday hotel good for family's plenty of entertainment day and nights free coach to beach and back to hotel every half hour good choice of food in restaurant good service and very helpful staff

Very good hotel for a 4 star Hotel was very clean and rooms are cleaned daily Maid staff are very friendly The only thing that let it down was the poor air conditioning in the rooms, due to the filters being blocked Comfortable beds, very close to the yumbo centre Very gay friendly staff

Really nice apartments and great location. Great facilites for family's with a kids play area and pool. Choice of the 3 pools and a number of restaurants in the area too. Located a 5 minute bus ride from Playa de Ingles and Maspolamos beaches which were amazing. Overall a very relaxing holiday. Only little downside is if you're vegetarian, there isn't much food options in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner

Well, we went here end of April in to May for 2 weeks All Inclusive. Shocked at the state of the place, for a start 2 Hotels....We were in the apartments which on the outside was in disrepair with plaster coming away from the balconies, green safety netting was needed and also yellow barriers to keep you out of harms way. I saw no one attempting to rectify the problem during the 2 weeks stay, the inside was very dated and even though AI we only got water in the fridge on the first day and was told to reuse the bottle to be filled up in the dining area. The staff, well I couldn't fault them, from the reception, cleaners to kitchen staff brilliant, no problem with helping you with anything. The entertainment team, well from we saw a great bunch however it was brief as you only really got a couple of hours on a night, about 2000 to 2230 max. but did have a kids club and some games through the day. The hotel is actually 2 hotels, the main hotel and the apartments, we were in the apartments and had to go to the main hotel for the entertainment and main dining facility. The dining hall, well food was ok but no kids section so was a pain if you have a picky kid like me. the pool was nice and no need to rush for a sun lounger, life guards are there and do a great job, no balls or inflatables allowed in the pool which is ok but I'm sure they could relax that rule a bit for a ring or small kids inflatable. extra dining had a snack bar at each pool which did pizza's, chicken nuggets etc so that was good especially for my young one. All Inclusive plus seemed pointless with a family as really only proffed the adults for premium beers and adult areas...which you wouldn't use anyway with the kids.

We visited the Barcello for the first time in January to celebrate my birthday, we had such a relaxing pleasant stay that we booked again for the Easter holiday period. Usually we book adult only holidays a our days of parenting are , can I say , behind us. However , we had a brilliant time, excellent service, good variety of food which suited the varied ,many nationalities. We were provided with the same superior room that we asked for, once again we will definitely return 😎

Another lovely break at this hotel, the only thing that was not good was the noisy b.neighbours above us on a few nights but security we're happy to deal with this for me and the noisy neighbours then went out.great food, great hotel and already booked for our next visit in August

Fantastic pace for families friends kids all. amazing climate in hotel great food and service coming there from last few years and always enjoying time spend there. food is very good and staff is friendly

Be careful if u book superior for single use!!! Last year Im made very early (about a year) booking SUPERIOR ROOM, 14 nights, PREMIUM All Inc. From 06 to 20 may 2017 (still living here now). If you open Barcelo website and try to book a superior room in Occidental Margaritas, you will see, that hotel have two superior room types - standart with square 35 m and family with square 45 m. The room with nice interior with 35m is enough for me, so have booked. But after I came into the hotel, was charged by the all amount of my stay, I was extremely disappointed and upset and am in this state to this day. The room is a lot like a small dressing room with max square 10 m (look at the pictures). I think it is two to three times smaller than the one I booked through the website. Well, Occidental Margaritas, what do you say? Is this a premium service for a premium guest? Is that what on my photo (this is room 533) looks like what's on the photo on the site? Are there any rooms in the website with this size? I was already beginning to think that you sold me a room that was meant for the staff. P.S. Later, when I am leaving I will publish big review all hotel faciltes. This review is only to warn, that room size on website is different from real room size

Great rooms, service, staff, food, entertainment. I cannot fault hotel. Only little issue WiFi was a little intermittent. I would go back and strongly recomend this hotel. It is also safe fir children as lifeguard at both pools. Definstely go all inclusive as the food selection and quality is great
