Hotel in a good position for various key locations, yumbo centre, walking distance to beaches and bus right outside hotel for Maspalomas. Lacks staffing at bars, WiFi is very poor. Otherwise ok weeks vacation.
Although the food was only warm not hot there was a good range although all inclusive we found ourselves eating out quite a bit. The language barrier was hard to follow in relation to the entertainment who do not go out of their way to accommodate English. Also we thought there would be more entertainment during the day or even music ! And the evening entertainment outside was only very short, 30 minutes long some days. Not for us, maybe more suited to older couples. We did however have a scream at Gumbo which we visited 3 nights out of the 7 we were her, now that's entertainment.
We came to this hotel 5 years ago and loved our stay we have been back every year since ,,twice in the same year a couple of times we were here august 2017 for 11nights and bought more family members and have booked to go here again December to spend new years and are bringing more family members again , the food is lovely , the staff are very friendly and the cleanliness of the hotel is the best and we are very much looking forward to our stay for the second time this year .
Well what can I say. Large studio apartment 121. All I needed was a kettle! Thank God for the microwave to boil water. Needs some upgrading of soft furnishings. Dated tbh .Shabby sofabed. Stains to be honest. Large balcony. lots of storage
This is the third time we have stayed in the hotel and each time it lives up to expectations. All the staff on the hotel are incredibly friendly and helpful and the old guy in the shop downstairs is hilarious. The food is always above standard with different menus every night, the self service for the all inclusive drinks is amazing and unique and the room was nice and big to fit 3 of us and had a lovely big bathroom and balcony. Already coming back for a 4th visit in May
Ok here are the facts: - Decor outdated cheap furniture place looks like out of 70s - Food very bland, the excuse was that i should add some slimy sauces and salt as the food is for everyone... - Rooms unclean, furniture bad, bedding very bad, very loud too from cheep karaoke type shows out of Blackpool style - Platinum all inclusive not worth a penny the separate area is not luxurious - aloha a la carte food bland, service great, food bad again. Lacks flavour and some is def out of frozen bags - location not great is not central to either playa del inglese or Maspalomas - drinks lovely bar staff The management attitude was that is something wrong with me for not accepting sub standards as being acceptable. They even told me what do you expect for what i paid! It was not cheap. So in my eyes average is the hotel management view that is great as per their advertising They also told me lots of stories about is a family hotel, food is for everyone, no one complains about cleanines? Is that acceptable? So it was my fault the floor in the room was so dirty and had previous occupant finger nails on the floor. Of course when i found a massive black hair in my food (i m bold) it was the guests fault... what do i expect!? Is busy lol so is ok... Star rating. Definitely not four stars oh no. Is worst than Eugenia Victoria not as bad a Greenfield Also because i dared to complain the cleaner left my room open. The safe was useless i could not fit my expensive mac book pro in. The cleaner left my door open hoping my staff will go missing! Of course management told me i m inventing it. In the end they accepted to refund me a little and i moved in to Maspalomas in bungallows where i had a great time. Meanwhile my favourite Tomy Hilfiger shirt vanished. I only noticed when i was back home. After buying the non refundable holliday i had a bad feeling about this hotel and i was right in every single way of my concerns If you have standards avoid at all costs! Wait ... you ll see a tirade of rubbish from the hotel accusing me of all sort but i ll upload some pictures. Is it 4 stars to have buckets in the hallways collecting water dripping from air con? Maybe for Occidental brand is a great experience in their 4 = 2 star hotel. Sorry bad is bad
Great hotel, we've been coming back for several years and always find high standard. It's not cheap but you have to pay for quality. Far enough away from Yumbo not to be disturbed but close enough to walk. Sophisticated and mature.
I have just come back from an eleven night stay at Occidental Margaritas. This was our first stay and won't be the last. Check in was efficient and friendly and we where allocated a room on the seventh floor. The views were amazing. Majority of the rooms face onto the pool and outside area. Our room was modern and cleaned to a very high standard throughout our stay. Food: prior to travelling we had read many reviews about temperature and replacement of food. On no occasion was rge food that I had like warm or Cold. I am extermly fussy eater but was able to find food at each meal. We eate on two occasions at Ahola Restaurant. Our three course meals and service were excellent on both occasions. Animation team work extermly hard day and night. They are friendly and not over pushy about getting you to join in with a range of activities. Good range of evening entertainment to suit all tastes. All inclusive guests are well catered for with two snack bars and self serve hot and cold drinks including alcohol. The greatest asset of the hotel is its staff. They are all friendly and say hello even in passing. The staff often worked long hours, but their faces did not show this. We hope to return in the very near future and for us this was best hotel in Playa del Ingles to date.
I wanted to book another hotel which unfortunatelly was full so found this one. Its a hotel ide never stayed at before having stayed a t a few different ones over the years. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly and polite reception staff to book us in who by the way understood english perfectly, a good start i thought. We had booked the all inclusive plus this time and the reception staff guided us through all the details that it offered in detail. We were allocated a room on the seventh floor in the hotel block at the back, and was very pleasantly surprised to find a nice modern room and bathroom . All the rooms overlook the pool area. The thing that usually dissapoints from any hotel in Gran Canaria is the food but certainly not on this occassion. You are greeted by yet again very friendly staff waiting to seat you and the selection and quality of food is extremelly good with the best desert selection ive seen in any hotel ive stayed at. Being on all inclusive plus we were allowed to use the al a carte Aloha which we did on a couple of nights, the staff there were amazing and the food was very good, the only negative is there are a few cats wandering about although very tame.The entertainment team never stopped just wish i had as much energy, and the shows they themselves provided were both professional and entertaining. All in all i just wish ide found this hotel years ago it was the best stay yet in this resort all made possible by all the wonderfull polite and friendly staff from cleaners and housemaids to gardeners and maintenance and the wonderfull restaurant and bar staff the service was so much better than anywhere else ive ever stayed. Looking to be back in 2018 your a wonderfull team.
food needs to be looked into ,warn some of it was hot but only 35%...had free bus down to beach , all staff on reception were helpful , room service didn't replace tea & coffer in room ,the lift one day was so wet cleaner didn't wipe or shrimp water away reported this as health & safety issue
