"We received an email the previous day to say reception would be closed at our arrival time (3pm), giving us access instructions. Not only was reception closed, but the whole place was deserted. An honesty bar was available, but the restaurant was closed. Obviously 3rd January is a quiet time of year, but several other guests did arrive. We didn't have the 19 Euro breakfast. The room was quite small, but was newly decorated, with large TV, good WiFi and comfortable bed. A small bathroom with a shower was also new an modern. I'm sure the hotel has a completely different feel in the summer. It's a stunning building with lots of history."
