Came during the Commonwealth Games the Main Street was closed off but we were not told about this prior. When we tried to drive to the hotel traffic controllers stopped us because we didn’t have a pass, we called the hotel and her advice was “park on the street behind” which is paid parking! She said there is nothing more she could do and hung up. We then went to the traffic controller ourselves who said someone is coming to give us a pass, we waited an hour in the sun for this person and multiple other Rays Resorts residents waited as well. The controller told us the hotel should already have these passes and have given us these beforehand - unbelievable. Then on our way out we went to the reception to pay the rest of the rent when the lady told us the money had already been taken out!- which we were not told would happen and did not appreciate. Then we told the lady about the incident with the parking to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else and make sure they’re aware of it and the lady became extremely rude and aggressive she said “I do not have to explain anything to you” “if you aren’t happy you can leave” - that was her advice!! Not even wanting to help us - don’t worry we aren’t coming back again! And when we asked for her name she said “I don’t need to talk to you, I don’t even need to look at you.” How rude! This lady doesn’t know the first thing about hospitality or customer service - definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND! It’s disappointing because the apartment was nice and the pool and spa were relaxing but not good enough to excuse the lack of customer service.

Stayed in unit 58 again and as usual the unit clean and comfy we only ever stay in this unit as the owner of it must care about the guests that stay in it, shame on the other owners as some units are not good and should have little TLC, as the owners of this unit have done a good job and not spending a lot.

Wow. I really didn't think you could get a place so bad. We stayed one night - and left 7am the next morning for other accommodation (We'd booked for two nights). Where to start....The room was Filthy - long wet dog hair(?) all over the balcony. A big wodge of screwed up toilet paper on the floor beside the toilet. The air-conditioner had this brown stuff dripping out of it and sounded like a helicopter hovering outside! We accidently dropped out keys in the Uber on our way back to the motel - and had to pay $50 Cash to get back inside the apartment building (we had the keys returned to us the following day by Uber). The room next to ours had a lovely couple who smoked pot all night and early the following morning - with the door propped open, and wafting into our room. Save your money - Blood awful - I would rather sleep in my car!!! DO YOUR SELF A FAVOUR AND STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.

We stayed 2 nights in unit 58 and it was very comfy the air-con worked great and the view was awesome, the renovations to the club around the corner are awesome as well, we will be back to stay in unit 58.

Air con that rattles like a 30 year smoker. A bed that sounds like a rabid donkey on helium is trying to escape from it and a breakfast pack that includes a half eaten loaf of bread. And to top it all off, a trip hazard into the bathroom that ripped the bottom of my toenail free. I'll be complaining to my employer for putting me up here but seriously this place is not worth the price you pay or even half of it. Go stay at the caravan park down the road.

We booked and paid for this accommodation through Agoda prior to our trip. Upon arrival at Rays we were told we would have to pay the fee again although we had already paid, and were able to prove this with our bank statement. We were told that our bank statement showing money leaving our account and going into theirs didn't prove anything. They also hiked up the price resulting in a fee that was 3 times what we had already paid. We were politely and respectfully trying to sort out the issue but the girl at the desk was extremely rude and hostile and ended up making one of our party cry. Fortunately Agoda sorted out the issue for us after we rang them to get some assistance. Otherwise the bed was hard and the room was filthy. We love camping so dirt isn't usually an issue for us but it looked like someone had been slinging mud on the bathroom walls. On the plus side the pool and spa are lovely and the view wasn't bad. It's basic but the only reason we would never stay here again or recommend anyone else doing so was the completely uncalled for disgusting manner in which we were treated.

Friendly staff and a cheap stay. Room is OK but needs renovating to bring it up to modern standards. Everything was clean. It has a wall shaker for an arcon which was noisy. Car park was free and easy to get in and out of. No WiFi. A basic hotel for a short trip or to save money. A good view of the spit. Good is you are swimming at the Southport Pool.

First mother-daugther trip I've had with my 13 year old girl. Thought I'd take her to sunny Queensland for a girl's getaway. The last time she was on a plane she was less than a year old - we were very excited about this trip. With a flight that got in at 4:30 from Sydney, we arrived at this joke of a 'resort' around 6pm on account of our shuttle bus dropping off other passengers at their hotels. Upon our arrival, we noticed the reception area was closed and locked up. We noticed an elderly lady at reception but we were outside the main entrance door unable to get in. I called the after hours number noted on the wall and received no response except that the phone kept ringing with no one picking up. I attempted several times but to no avail. We had been in the premises for about 20 mins by now; distressed, frustrated, and very unhappy. A male resident was walking out the door and I approached him about how we could get access to the owners or after hours people - we needed keys to get into our paid for room, which was arranged through Tiger Air. The male resident let us into the reception area. I also tried to call the number to Rays Resort AND the 'after hours' number (again) which still just rang out with no answer or voicemail. Finally I found another mobile no. and called it immediately. Whoever was on the other end sounded like the owners. I explained, in a very upsetting and distressing tone, that the place is shut and we had no keys!! I can't believe that staff at Rays Resort did not have the courtesy or decency to contact me on my mobile, which EVERY OTHER HOTEL I'VE STAYED IN HAVE DONE, to confirm or find out where we were if they were in such a rush to go home so early. Even after I was given a code to enter and open the safe at reception to gain access to our room key, the ordeal didn't stop there. A staff member finally turned up when we were in our room. I was still distressed, angry and naturally annoyed at how we were treated following our arrival from Sydney. I noticed that the rude staff member could not comprehend why I was so upset and why I noted to her they were in the wrong about their appalling customer service at Rays Resort. Her attitude was, "Do you want to go somewhere else?", or "I don't appreciate angry people", she was just cold, unfriendly and extremely unprofessional. Who even asks this sort of nonsense when clearly I was upset and they were in the wrong. I was not in the mood for her condescending manner but she remained rude and unhelpful as I described the ordeal we went through just to check in on our first night! Customers should not expect to be locked out of a resort when everything's been paid for. Furthermore, the TV does not show pictures on the screen. It is completely black/blank!!! It only has sound. What are we paying for? Items that don't work or operate properly?! There is absolutely no free wifi; if you need it they charge a fee! In addition, the shower knob is loose and ready to fall apart if you use it to open the door! Don't waste your time or money. This place is ridiculous.

Been staying there since 2015, close to pretty much anything.Restaurant, mall, bars,or gas station.Good view on the bacony, only down part is bit old (as least 25 years). Would definitely recommend to others

Stayed there with my friend and was walking back from the bottle shop the first night there and as I walked through the door a woman behind the counter rudely said " CAN I HELP YOU WITH SOMETHING " I said " argh no I'm just going up to my room " I walked away and to the elevator and then she came around and again rudely saw the two wine bottles in my hand and said " don't put them down the shoot " I replied with " umm what ? I wasn't planning on doing that " and so I highly recommend you stay somewhere else on holidays if you're planning on having a drink of any kind
