Thank you Chevron Palms for another great stay. As always, the apartment was clean and tidy, and very accommodating. It was wonderful to be able to swim every day, then take a short stroll into Surfers for shopping and dining. Being so close to public transport made it very easy for us to get to where we were going without any complications. Both the tram and the bus are very close by.
I absolutely love these apartments and I have stay here a few times a year. They are all really new with the best ammenities. The pool is great for adults and kids and offers shade as well as sun. The apartments are self contained so they are basic but they have everything you need! Perfect for a get away or family holiday.
Suited our visit. Close to street, beach, public transport. Unit equipped for first night, Tea, coffee, etc. Very clean, pool and bbq area clean, neat and tidy. Very helpful at reception. Down side, fold out couch, well and truly, used and uncomfortable. Air con $10 a night. Have to pay for Wi-Fi
Myself and my partner stayed at the Chevron Palms in January, for a week. We enjoyed our stay, the rooms had basic furnishings but comfortable and clean, with a well equipped kitchen. Enjoyed the walk to the beach and Shopping area, no need for a car or public transport. Didn't need the air con as the fans suffice, and the building is low rise so it is shaded from the hot afternoon Sun. We would consider staying here again for another visit, as it was great value and comfortable.
Lovely clean low rise apartment. Undercover parking, clean heated pool, friendly staff, everything you could possibly need for a break away at a very reasonable price for its location. Great eating venues within walking distance no need to fight with traffic
Booked for one night for a function nearby. Difficult to get in after office closed. Spent 10 minutes trying to find the air-conditioning control only to find that it was $10 extra. No good on a hot summer evening. Ceiling fans only worked with the light on. Vertical blinds rattled all night as the windows had to be open. The position isn't that good. No view and a long way to the beach. No tea or coffee. No shampoo. Won't be staying again.
We booked this based on price and location. We had read the reviews, which were a little bit mixed. However the price was fantastic and the location was excellent. This is not high end accomodation, but it was clean and tidy and we would stay again. A five minute walk into Surfers Paradise, Coles supermarket and free internet at the renaissance plaza. The pool and outdoor BBQ area was lovely and clean. It was lovely and quiet, away from the hassle and bustle of Surfers. We used the bus and tram from the airport. The tram is about 7 minutes walk away and is the perfect way to get around.
This place had the whole package, lovely rooms, nice and clean outdoor setting and awesome service. The lady there was so nice to my partner and I, advising us of places to visit and nearby convenience stores. Absolutely awesome first time out of NZ due to things running smoothly with accommodation as well as everything else.
Beautiful large rooms with modern facilities made our weekend away memorable! The bathroom was well lit and warm and the kitchen was perfect, with a large sized fridge and the convenience of a dishwasher. The location was perfect! Will definitely stay again.
Booked through Expedia, stayed for 6 nights in Oct, totalling to $680. I'll put the pros and cons in a 'list' view. PRO'S: - Location is actually so amazing. We were roughly a 5-10 minute walk from Surfers. Also, away from the "party people" pubs and clubs in Surfers. - Free and safe car parking. It was more convenient to walk everywhere than to drive, so this came in handy. CON'S: - Overall, cleanliness is a 3/10. Inside some of the top cupboards in kitchen have not been wiped in awhile. Bug poop and dust throughout. But we hardly used the kitchen, so we turned a blind eye to this. - Aircon fee of $10 p/n. Like, really? Expanding on this, and to be fair, the weather was JUST cool enough to not sleep with an aircon. BUT, both the mesh on screen doors in room and lounge were munted (f$&@ed). Duct tape on screen type of thing. The lock on the screen door in lounge was broken completely, meaning we couldn't ever leave the sliding door open. This resulted in a VERY stuffy lounge room. - This is not Chevron Palms' fault nor can they do anything about it; I mentioned in the pros that the accommodation was away from pubs and clubs, but Friday and Saturday night, people were partying very loudly in the apartments located behind Chevron Palms. Our bedroom literally backed onto the apartments, meaning, we couldn't leave the sliding door open due to the noise. No aircon. Can't leave the lounge sliding door open because the screen door didn't lock. This was just awful. - On the last night, I dropped my earring and it had rolled under the bed. Couldn't get my hands under, so we moved the bed. OMFG. It was f$&@ing disgusting. They have literally been vacuuming around the bed for god knows how long! The dust piled up under there was frightening. I had to shower because I had stuck my arm under the bed. Chevron Palms, if you're reading this, for future guests, you need to clean more thoroughly. This would be an acceptable place to stay if you're expectations of accommodation is low; if you just don't give a damn about where you sleep; or if you can't financially afford to pay any more. We personally will not be returning and would not recommend any of OUR family or friends to stay here unless they were struggling financially or something! We will never skimp out on paying that tiny bit extra in staying somewhere with a name and more class. But hey, just our opinion. Make your own judgement!
