Room was okay, although I had to ask for some of the handles to be cleaned as they were still sticky from the last occupant. Bed sheets were less than luxurious making me wonder if they were part nylon.

Room was okay, lots of staining on the door and a broken door into the bathroom. Bed was too small for someone over 6ft, and the toilet was too close to the shower to really sit on. No information given about breakfast or staff on hand to ask when I went down in the morning. No lockbox for returning keys just left on the desk.

Room was dated and could do with more amenities. Insufficient room to hang your clothes, no toilet brush and better towels

If I could give 0 stars I would. I would absolutely avoid at all costs. We got to the room and there was a pubic hair on the windowsill and the toilet was not clean. I asked for a refund given the state of the room and they refused to refund me. So my money has been taken and the service was not provided. Avoid at all costs.

Hotel entrance smelt strongly of cooking upon arrival. Had to knock 3 times to get anyone out to check in, there was a bit of a language barrier as I could hardly understand her. Bed was clean and made up but the bathroom had mould and smelt of sewage. There was a constant bleeping every half an hour which kept me awake. Nice pub up the road though.

I stayed here a few years ago and my room was beautiful. This time I am so disappointed. The last staircase to my top floor room was steep and narrow with NO handrail....dangerous! Inside the tiny room was extremely shabby, wallpaper hanging off, dirty marks on walls by bed, in bathroom and by sink, a broken dark wood venetian blind which wouldn't open so I had to keep the light on. There were screws protruding from the wall above the sink in the bedroom. Hooks on wall with one hanger I couldn't reach because it was on the floor behind a table, one small dingy green towel, I asked for more and got another equally small dingy green one. The toilet was disgusting, brown limescale in the bowl and this morning I could see urine stains all around the base of the toilet, if I had looked last night I would have demanded another room or at least for somebody to clean it. No bedside lamp or means of turning the main one off from bed. When I took my shoes off I trod in a big wet patch on the carpet. Went to make my coffee before bed and there was no cup so I made it in the glass. Once in bed I noticed how draughty the window was, the road noise was awful and to top it all a really thin duvet and rock hard pillow! The whole place, including my top floor room smelled of burnt cooking oil and chines food. A horrible stay, I couldn't wait to get out of there this morning!!!!

My room was so small I could touch the sink at the end of my bed ! It had an en-suite shower and toilet but sink was at the foot of the bed very odd ! The pillows are stained and rock hard But - tv in room nice and warm with heater I asked the lady if she had any water she told me to drink the tap water Would I stay here again ? YES only because it’s so so cheap and for work purposes but there is a lovely pub next door called the mead row very lovely people great beers you can have food delivered , lovely Locals and a lovely cozy warm pub The area is fabulous , but the room was like a cell

Shocked -

Parking if your car can fit up the drive to the parking area, hotel needs a sign and updating. Rooms could do with a good clean, big of bleach in the toilet perhaps! Also the smell of curry throughout the hotel was quite off putting. Basic and gave us a place to rest our heads for the night, but would not use again.

Very interesting arrangement of rooms, stairs and floors in this house. The room was clean and comfortable, but the shelf/hanging cabinet behind the door was unsteady. The entire place could use a little updating. It is convenient to the rail station, and quiet even though it's on a main road.

Comfortable hotel

Hotel was comfortable but reception not so readily accessible. Had to wake owners up on two occasions around 9am in the morning to ask for extra milk etc. It was not clear how to get hold of them if needed during the day and the staff seemed a bit apathetic when a request was made.

A good night's sleep

The check in process was simple and easy. Our ensuite room had everything you need for an overnight stay. Tea/coffee, towels, clean bed, bathroom and TV. Bed was comfortable. Shower was hot and fresh. The room was just tired, but for the price all was good.

I don't leave negative reviews but on this occasion, this is to save anyone going through what we did. Bed bugs, toilet flushed out onto to garden! Unbelievable but honestly it was disgusting. The hotel itself looks lovely, dainty and welcoming but that's about it. No refund or acknowledgement but offered me 5% off for the next booking. No thanks!
