What a disappointment !!! Guys the pics on the web are extremely deceptive! We had a terrible experience at this resort! You would be a fool if you pay more than 8k we nite ! Summary of our experience. We paid 15k a nite and hence expected plush rooms and good service - didn’t expect a Taj but expected an Upscale boutique hotel.. Issues: 1. The hotel did not have 24hr hot water supply - when we came back to he hotel late at nite, we had to shower with cold water!!! 2. We were 7 friends from bangalore and we left Home at 3am. Anticipating we’d be tired by the time we reached the hotel - we requested an early check in for atleast 1 of the 3 rooms. They didn’t bother. They were understaffed and took forever to clean the rooms! 3. Two of the fresh towels spelt of vomit - and my friend need to shower again after using the towel! Of course they replaced it but the damage was done 3. Rooms were tiny, dingy and subpar / the rooms put on the website are the heritage rooms - when we paid 15k we got the most basic rooms which were below 3 star level 4. Service was below expectations with unaccommodating staff! 5. IT IS NOT A BEACH property ! You have to get out of the hotel and walk past a village strip. The village has shady stores and garbage all over. Not a pleasant walk at all. Didn’t feel safe too!!! 6. The hotel made us wait for 5 hrs to get our rooms and even refused to share the WiFi passcode until we were checked in! Haven’t heard of this anywhere in the world. 7. Free breakfast was the same crap both days - nothing unique...taste of food too was subpar. We are Global travelers and this place was a complete disappointment! Looks and feels like a 2-3 star at best!!!
My mother and I arrived having been promised a "superior" room - it was horrendous. Dismal, cramped, dirty, no twin beds as we'd specified & also smelled damp. Naturally we complained & were told there was nothing they could do until the next day, which is fair enough, but we couldn't stay in that room. Staff were abrasive and unpleasant. We were treated poorly. So we left! An hour after checking in. Manager was understandably mortified - practically begged us to stay and give them another chance but we'd had enough. We checked out found alternative accom. Considering it's VERY expensive for Goa, we'd been expecting treatment from staff & quality of rooms to match. Perfectly happy to pay for the one night considering we'd checked in but we're now embroiled in a fight to recover our money for the remaining 2 nights we weren't there. Safe to say if they don't pay up we'll be seeking legal advice. Disastrous experience. Avoid.
How sweet exactly, I cannot say here :) but the hotel is beautiful. I loved it. I loved my room in the back, just a few steps away from the exit to the beach. I loved the hacienda like vibe. Loved the food in the hotel restaurant and the atmosphere of the place. People in the reception were very helpful and dealt with all emergency situations. I would love to visit again and hopefully I will. I really recommend it. It is close to the beach and yet in the middle of the town.
On reading the reviews on tripadvisor I guess I expected more. By that I mean some bones to the Lemon Tree. The rooms were ok. Service and staff just ok. No personality seen. Pool needs upgrading. Breakfast not good. Location great. Would not stay again. Would not NOT recommend but would NOT recommend. Nothing out of the ordinary. You can do better
Located in the main Candolim area nearby beach and on main road.staff is polite and services are good.need a bit improvement in dinner menu as we had taken buffet but was not available.we were given a buffet menu sheet where we ordered accordingly but service was slow may be due to restaurant staff shortage. Worth booking....as hotel was maintained very good and one of the best location in Candolim.
We recently stayed 5 days at this hotel. The Lemon Tree Amarante (not to be confused with the newer Lemon Tree just up the road) is located on the main street of Candolim about one hour's drive north of the airport. The property's location and design effectively limit or eliminate street noise from Candolim's nearly always busy and noisy main street. The Candolim beach is about a ten minute walk away from the hotel by a dirt and sand path. Expect to run a gauntlet of shops and shop workers politely hawking their wares. It's worth the walk. The beach is excellent-apparently cleaned daily by a work crew. The hotel location is excellent if one is looking to restaurant, bar or shopping opportunities. There are literally dozens of options a ten minute walk away in either direction. The rooms are moderate in size but entirely sufficient for two persons. We found our room spotlessly clean on check in and every day during our stay. Our friendly housekeepers Deepak and Manoosh worked hard daily to keep it that way. The A/C is a little noisy but is effective in cooling the heat and humidity of Goa. The hotel has two small fitness rooms that are adequate for a workout. I suspect that they are not used often as I found them empty and very hot on every workout. The rooms became tolerable once the A/C and fan were turned on. The hotel restaurant provided a broad choice of Indian and western style entrees daily for breakfast. Again, service here was outstanding. The friendly and accommodating staff (Vishnu was a standout) provided our every need during our meals there. The hotel has a small bar that is located adjacent to the house Republic of Noodles restaurant. This is likely repetitive, but again the help here is excellent-friendly, prompt and professional. Naresh, Vijay and Naivin seem to split their time between the bar and the Republic of Noodles. They did an excellent job! My only small complaints are in two areas-occasional lack of cleanliness in the walkways and common areas of the hotel and one loose handrail on a stairway. I know the peak season in Goa is approaching-perhaps these minor issues will be resolved soon.
We had a amazing time at this resort. The resort boasts of one of the calm places to be at. Room are small but well cleaned and well maintained. Pool is also good with a provision of kids pool. Would visit next yr again
The staff at the Lemon Tree hotel were extremely kind and helpful. Special mention should go to Abhishek, Vineet and Ammy who went out of their way to make my experience enjoyable. The hotel is well maintained clean rooms as well public areas . The Price was affordable , nice pool area and buffet breakfast.I would recommend anytime. Happy Holidays Carlton Beame.
It was our first family trip to Goa. We were accompanied with one of my friends family. The stay at the hotel was wonderful and we had an excellent time during stay at this property. We were helped by the GM Mr Nikhil in an outstanding manner. The pool was great and we had wonderful food too.
This is a beautiful resort having a beach aceess though not located at the beach. Our rooms were taken care by Vineet who was ever smiling and ready to asisst whenever required. Rooms are very well cleaned and nicely organised along with soft fresh towels in bathing area. Food is really nice and pool is the USP.
