Enchanting, charming and relaxing are words that aptly describe our stay in this rare traditional Goan house now a hotel. The local red pigmented IPC flooring, exposed laterite stone walls and Manglore tiled wooden roofs will make picture perfect selfies if that’s your thing. Fixed concrete beds and mosquito nets take you to another world. Nowhere else will you get that pleasing to the eye large expanse the wild unkempt thick greenery within the premises, as opposed to the well manicured lawns and trees of regimented height and designated position that pass off as 'landscape' elsewhere. Leisurely gorging on succulent Goan and other delicacies in the verandah overlooking the pool ringed with greenery is an experience I wish could go on and on. So I parcelled some yummy apricot mutton on Lorraine’s recommendation to make a good thing last longer. Slow service is a blessing. The staff is warm. Monday the resort dog lived up to his reviews. I only wished the rooms had the classic Goan balcao (can’t be added now) where we could sip our rum and cola and watch the world go by. But then maybe we would not have been drawn to the beauty of the verandah by the pool.
The property, Laguna Anjuna was suggested by one of my friends. We were sold as soon as we saw the huge stone bathtubs! And honestly, the property is BEAUTIFUL! Its rustic charm will leave you mesmerised and its serene setting will give you a much needed peaceful break from your fast-paced city life. If you are looking to soak up in a pretty bathtub, this is where your search for Hotels in Goa should end. The breakfast was a lot like homemade food, absolutely loved it. We even dined at the in-house restaurant and boy, the food was delicious! I tried the Prawns Masala and I have no complaints whatsoever! The restaurant manager, Lorraine was quite helpful and so was the rest of the staff. The best part about everyone was that they never hovered and yet were there when you needed them. So, you get privacy as well as all the attention you need. In fact, one night, we called the reception quite late coz we needed water and within minutes, it was delivered to our room. The swimming pool looked nice too, though I didn't get the time to take a dip. But next time, it's on my list! The best thing I learned about this hotel is that it is pet-friendly. We will certainly be travelling with out pet(s) next time. :) Thank you for an amazing stay! PS: Don't forget to meet Monday. He is Laguna Anjuna's very own dog. This Indie will make you fall in love with him as soon as your eyes meet his! Can't wait to meet you again, Monday.
This is my 4th or 5th time at Laguna, & I seem to be falling deeper in love with the place each time. The whole ambience is so very different from other places around Goa. It's fantastic to wake up in silence, that's interrupted by only bird calls, or see a monkey & even snakes at times just casually pass through the property, without bothering anyone. Their in-house dog Monday, is a treat for those traveling without their beloved pets (like me). The food served here is exquisite thanks to a great chef. The hospitality of the entire staff is refreshing. A big thanks to Ozzy, Pritesh, Pooja, Felix & all the others for making my stay here memorable each time. I'd especially like to mention the house cleaning lady & the restaurant hostess (forgive me for not remembering your names 🙏) who always greet you with a broad, genuine smile, no matter what. Last of all, thank you Farrokh Manekshaw for giving us Laguna. Like I'd told you after my very first visit, I love love love your place, & think of it to be my home away from home
This is will be one of my favorite places to stay in north goa. Location-close to beach easy to find. Rooms-Booked two one rooms but on arrival they offer me two bedroom room, when I saw the room it just what i wanted so decided to stay at this room.C cottage contains one big dome shape living room and two attach bathroom beds with bathtubs.Room contains fridge, small table, television which I never saw. Bed was comfortable and sheets changed every day. Service-excellent is only word. Surrounding-Is the most important thing in this resort, swimming pool is big. Food-Tried one lunch and it was good. Overall-This place belongs to people who want peace and love rustic charm,if need anything morden do not come here.Definitely recommended.
I love Laguna Anjuna ! For me Laguna Anjuna is the spirit of GOA and Goa is the centre of the Universe ! Yes I am romantic ! I stayed in this resort more than five times and I experienced few different rooms with different character and looks ! For me this resort is a village within another village ( Aniuna ) !! Try the BIG round room (H) with curved break ceiling ,, it is beautiful !!!! Ayeesh from California !!
If you are looking for a modern and luxurious stay laguna is not the place for u. But if you like being with nature and a resort having a rustic old world charm i highly recommend laguna. Restaurant and room services are good with helpful and courteous staff.
Been here during monsoon. Enjoyed the stay at this resort. The ambiance is lovely, so was the hospitality at the resort. This trip with friends is one of the most memorable one's I had during my trips to Goa.
We visited Laguna Anjuna Hotel for 2 nights in February 2017. The room is clean enough for a budget hotel, the whole Hotel area seemed a bit like a tropical jungle, that was cool. The breakfast menu is ok. Average. The staff is very friendly. I fell ill and had to go to hospital and couldn´t take the breakfast what we paid for one morning, and the chef prepared something for me some hours later for free. Later they asked if I am fine. All in all we would come again.
I stayed at the Hotel because I was in Goa for a music festival and this was one of the closer places to stay. The property is really nice but could do with some TLC. The pool looked a bit green and the food is at most mediocre. The staff is very helpful and cordial. I'd stay here if it was because of the location. The rooms are super spacious and have a really nice vibe but need some general upgrades. The hotel is nice and quiet away from the hordes of crowds in Anjuna in general.
Our 3 night stay here in Dec was very enjoyable. The hotel is peaceful and situated in a beautiful location. With lush vegetation - which for Anjuna, which is actually very crowded & dirty these days, made a welcome relief. The rooms are huge with a bohemian sophistication (but with fridge, tv, fan & aircon). The guy playing the piano in the evening added a lovely touch too. The restaurant was a bit pricey but produced beautifully cooked food - well worth a visit, even if you're not staying here. A couple of negatives: The pool could do with bit of an overhaul - still nice to have though! I felt the staff were too relaxed & dare I say lazy.... they jumped to attention when the owner was about, but they seemed to have far too much time to sit around chatting to each other rather than picking up bits of rubbish etc & improving the area around themselves. Overall, a really enjoyable stay & I would return if in the area again.
