I made reservations early in January for a trip to California in March at the Yucca Motel with the understanding it was pet friendly. I arrived late with my 76 year old partner and 11 yr old small dog and was turned away, as apparently it is not pet friendly. I was directed to Knights Inn, being told it was the only pet friendly lodging in town. So, we checked in to the Knights Inn, having no other choice. Check in took about 20 minutes, as there seemed to be a problem with one of the monthly renters. The outside is filthy - the stairs leading to the room covered with very messy things. The room itself was cleaner..........but, people coming and going all night........to and from where I can't imagine. No place to walk the dog but on the filthy pavement. No coffee in the room, and cold coffee in the lobby the color of dishwater. No one in the Lobby to make another pot. $82 for the night!!!! A total rip-off.
If I would have known that this was a "Potel" a motel run by people from India, I would have never stayed here. The room was dingy. Furniture was too large for the room. No smoke detector. The floor to ceiling curtain was poorly hung because of missing hooks. When I tried to get out of the room in the morning, I couldn't. The lock mechanism in the door handle was broken. Thank God there was no emergency or fire during the night I would have been trapped. Nobody answered my plea when I tried to contact the front desk. I had to call the office using my cell phone. I had to wait fifteen minutes before somebody came and used a key from the outside. The guy gave me a weird look like I didn't know how to use a door. Go to another motel. It's not worth the money to stay here. No breakfast provided.
This hotel has nothing likes out a web site. Old,old, old. I asked for a refund after seeing the room. Young man would not do it. Changed to another room. It was slightly better. My husband was,"oh well, let's just sleep and have breakfast". There was NO breaskfast.coffee!!! This place is being used as monthly rentals for workers. We travel all over Mexico and have never been so miss lead by the pictures and web site.
The sheets, towels and sink were clean. The beds were a bit hard and the room was in poor shape. This motel is in desperate need of repairs - broken windows, rust, carpet falling apart, etc. Would probably pay more to go somewhere else.
Great location, rooms have comfortable beds and working AC, affordable and hotel offers free coffee in the morning If driving by and need a place to stay i would recommend. This hotel is functional just to have a nice rest.
We got there at 2:00am. Wee needed a place to stay on our way to an event in Tuscon Arizona. It`s a very quiet hotel. I offers coffe. The rooms are clean. It has an ample parking lot. I saw that it had its own pool but It did not have water in it. The young man at the front desk was very friendly. The bathroom had two large towels, wash cloths, it had small soap, little shampoo package. It had AC. I slept like a baby. I was very tired and this place was there int he right place at the right time. Wifi kept going out. The roms have a little fridge and a microwave. They also have a little microwave at the front desk that you can use.
I'd have to agree with other reviews. It is an older motel, fine for a night or two. It needs some TLC and at first blush, we thought uh oh...but... It was spotlessly clean It was surprisingly quiet the bed was comfy and... it had a TV, fridge, microwave, AND a safe! It was clear that some good things have been done there recently. I didn't know that there were new owners until after I left, so I'd think that things will only improve more now. If they changed the curtains and bedspreads it would do a lot for the first impression. Clearly someone is trying and the extra amenities were done well. Furniture is old and worn, but again, we had all that we needed. The downside for us, was that the wifi was pitifully slow, and while we were only there one night, the pool was closed. It would have been nice to cool off at the end of our 90 degree day. My advice would be to go for short stay but to also call the motel first, and make sure you have pool and wifi. Breakfast was a muffin, but there are other options nearby so you won't starve :-) We couldn't find a liquor store in Gila Bend. You can find beer but not wine.
We were driving on a trip and wound up at this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but the hotel is old and plain. The room was relatively clean and air conditioned, just had outdated and random furniture and fixtures. It was quiet and we slept fine. The room didn't cost much.
Check in: smooth, the clerk/manager, very helpful with 'where to eat' etc. We had a smoking room, and had our dog with us. "No problems". Must admit - no through or forced ventilation for smoking - did go outside several times. Sound proofing: couldn't hear the trains when the door was closed. Continental breakfast: muffins and coffee. The staff were friendly, the room clean, even though the exterior could use some maintenance. There were some long-term guests present, working in the area - all were friendly.
This is a plain regular motel. It is older, and the owners are remodeling a little at a time. The rooms are clean and quiet. The pool was GREAT. The staff gave me a good rate, and were very friendly. It is not a 5 star motel, but if you want a nice room for a decent price you can not go wrong.
