This is a very nice modern hotel located on the marina and across the road from the old town. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There was a very good choice of food for breakfast. The rooms are a good size and the bed is very comfortable.
We booked this hotel due to its location and it certainly is well located right on the Marina next to the Aquarium. It is approx 10 -15 mins by taxi from Genoa airport depending upon time of day (€20). The rooms were available on arrival at 12 noon which was a bonus. Rooms are quite spacious with an ensure bathroom with a full size bath with shower. Rooms generally have a small balcony. The breakfast had a good selection however the cooked bacon, sausage etc was barely warm and could do with being hot.
This beautiful and friendly hotel overlooks the marina. The rooms were immaculately clean and tidy and the staff at this exquisite hotel were very helpful and friendly. The majority of the staff members speak English fairly fluently. The hotel reception staff are always happy to assist you on how best to navigate the city's various tourist attractions and restaurants. They are armed with lots of tourist maps at the front desk and plot the various places of interest on them before issuing them to you, very handy. As for venturing out from the hotel and marina, take the map and head up "Via San Lorenzo". This route takes you past many more tempting cafes, coffee and ice cream shops on the way. Walking through Via San Lorenzo, you will reach the Piazza San Lorenzo, which is another big square where many people choose to sit on the steps of the cathedral and scoff their ice cream. Don't miss out on the fantastic wee ice cream shop located on the south side of the square. Its called "Fruit & Ice Factory". It's only a small shop but don't let this put you off. It has a generous choice of some the most gorgeous ice creams are on sale here and its the most beautiful ice cream that we have ever tasted. Get some and go for a seat on the steps of the cathedral, where the pigeons will stalk you for a little piece of your wafer. We did this visit as part of our daily routine, what a chore!!!! I honestly don't know how we coped. :) We weren't too adventurous and tended to dine in at the hotel. The hotel restaurant is very nice and has the option for you to sit inside or out. The menu caters for all tastes and this, coupled with the great service from the staff made life very simple for us. All I will say from a keeping safe point of view is that you must be mindful that this is a main harbour /marina town and like any of these locations throughout the world, you should always be careful of where you venture off to, especially at night. It's going to be fairly obvious that you are a tourist and as tourists, we tend to stand out from the crowd. So a word of advice is, stick to the main streets, especially at night. If you venture down to the marina whether during the day or in the evening, you will run the risk of being pestered by lots of African chaps trying to offer you, "A little piece of Africa". They are trying to hand you small carved wooden items or pieces of lace to go round your wrist. They tell you that it's ok," its free, its free" but it's not and they will ask you for one or two euro. Now although the majority of these guys are ok, they do tend to be persistent, which can be rather annoying. We always gave a very friendly, "No Grazie". I have to admit, that this kind of thing did slightly put us off from going in certain areas but as long as you are polite and friendly with these guys, then you shouldn't have a problem. Enjoy your stay.
overlooking the marina, a great place in center with great parking with is important.. the staff was particularly kind an available, breakfast was a treat with all we needed. room was perfect bathroom too. will be back
8 female friends staying for a weekend 1-4 June. Fantastic location and lovely views from the balcony and terrace. My case was delayed for 48 hours and the guest relations manager Sirio Taulaigo was tireless in trying to find this for me via genoa airport staff - who never answered the phone! and their tracking system. Sirio also advised next steps if the case did not show up. Star employee - made a very difficult situation a bit more bearable
We received upgrade room and welcome sweet, it was pleasant to stay. The location is great, and easy walking around. Parking fee is 20 eur per day. Definitely we will suggest to my family and friends.
Hotel is in a great location. Room very comfortable and great having a balcony. Public areas very nice as well and tastefully decorated - loved the outside terrace. Not so good was that empty bottles, and some other rubbish from the previous guests were left in my room on check in, and my cups/glasses were left dirty in the room. Service at breakfast was pretty patchy and often long waits at the bar (I don't think they had enough staff) for drinks. Reception staff although very friendly gave us conflicting information on occassions and did not respond to an email request before we arrived.
The hotel was located in an enviable location right in the marina and walking distance to the city streets and historic areas. There was parking right in the front of the hotel (which was one of the only hotels we stayed at in Europe where this was possible). The hotel and our room no. 232 were lovely. The bedroom was clean and cozy. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The best part of the room was our balcony with two chairs that overlooked the marina. The view of the marina was incredible.
Due to Italian air controllers on strike we "had" to spend an extra night in Genova and as i know NH Hotels from before i chose this one and i wasnt disappointed at all. For access to the Marina and the old part of Genova this was just perfect. Spacy room - i was upgraded to a junior suite - spacy bath room with a tub an all - only thing missing was a balcony. we had a great view over the Marina. Staff was really kind and helpful so all in all a super experience.
Really liked this hotel for 4 day business stay. Great location with walking to the city streets. Right on the water for great views of the marina and the boats. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Service staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice and the bar in the evening always was enjoyable. Nice stay.
