This is one of the best modern hotels I have stayed in Itay, we stayed here for 4 nights as we used Genoa as a base to visit other cities like Rapallo, SML, Portofino and Camogil! They provide breakfast which is pretty good, they have a wide selection of continental breakfast. They do offer parking but they do charge a daily rate for parking. The only problem about parking is that they do take a while to get your car from their garage, one time i waited 30 mins for the car.
Located near a residential area, you will be within walking distance to the city center (old town). Rooms are well appointed and good size. Restaurant and bars are located near the hotel. Good choice for a pre-cruise stay.
We took a top floor suite with terrace, an excellent room with great layout and genuine attention to detail. The team at Melia Genoa were a delight to deal with at all times, from arrival to departure. We have stayed at each of the 5-start hotels in Genoa during the past 4 years of visits, and can say wholeheartedly that the Melia is way out in front. Now that we have 'found' the package of excellence that we seek in a hotel, we will certainly be back and - in fact - have already re-booked at the Melia for our next trip to Genoa in 2018. The ONLY note of caution and disappointment that I will highlight is the breakfast. This could be easily improved, our experience was of a poor layout and shaky service. Needs more attention to detail and an effort to make breakfast the quality capping-off of a stay instead of a slightly downbeat end to one. However, overall I cannot hesitate to recommend the Melia Genoa.
Fabulous staff, quiet clean rooms and great location off the beaten path just far enough to still walk anywhere in town.Taxi's waiting outside door for convenience. Im only filling this in to make up for the rest of characters Tripadviser insists on
Besides its location, its service, comfort, cleanliness and breakfast have been perfect. Check in and out were very smooth. No need to complain about anything, the bed was opened, nobody disturbed while in the room, it felt so good to be taken care of discretely and almost “invisibly”. Melia contributed in a large way to making the visit in Genova a fabulous experience. I will certainly stay there again whenever I shall return to Genova!
This hotel is exceptional, the staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, clean and well designed. The housekeeping team are brilliant, the bar staff and reception are faultless. This hotel has a corporate vibe but I really cannot fault it. Lovely selection at breakfast, close to town. Note , walk up towards the church in Carignano for a quick walk to the old town. I will definitely return.
good service in Genoa is rare in a town where everything seems to be too much trouble. the Melia is different and worth a visit if you like comfort, quiet and quality. breakfasts are down to usual Genoa standard though
Stayed here for a business trip and I have to say that the hotel was lovely. Staff were very friendly and i was lucky enough to be given a suite. My only minor complaint is the fact that there were no English channels on the TV. Appreciate this is an Italian hotel however it seems as a popular hotel for business travel so it would’ve been nice to have something to watch during down time. There were British channels available but they didn’t seem to work..
Had a wonderful time staying there, the rooms were immaculate and the front desk staff were extremely accommodating. Breakfast was included and very nice. The bar downstairs was fabulous and a great place to have a nightcap.
Not often I use the word excellent on city centre hotels but it deserves it! Super staff, super service and a great room and breakfast choice. The hotel - which I understand was an iron works and offices before conversion is well designed and detailed - is ideally situated on a grand avenue just a few minutes from the old city and it's very interesting architecture, also it's location near the seafront and the Corse Italia for a fantastic stroll - 2 miles - to Boccadasse. We truly really recommend this hotel for a visit to Genoa. If I have to be pedantic, no BBC World on TV! But I love the TV embedded in the bathroom mirror. Great wifi, so no problem catching up with the news on your smartphone.
