Dear Reader, Dear All, I spent one night for family matters at Melia Genova and I really appreciated everything. The hotel, the lounge, the restaurant, pool and room: all is so perfect with attention to details to make you feel happy. You feel in a wonderful place. A great many thanks for their kindness and their professionality to Matteo, Giovanni, Mattia, Francesca, Elena and Elisa and the cuisine Team, who prepared a faboulous dinner on 11/02 evening. I strongly recommend Melia Genova to all going to this great city. A constellation of starts is really deserved to this great place and the great stuff who make this hotel a jewel. Grazie, Alessandro
Buisness hotel kategorisinde sayılabilir ama her zaman temiz ve yardımseverler. Lokasyon ve imkanlar son derece yeterli / Very good city hotel with it's location and facilities. Maybe on buisness hotel category but always clean and helpfull.
In a very nice neighbourhood this very quiet hotel is the best offer in Genoa. Maybe a bit destined for business travellers, but nice anyway. Very good spa facilities, good breakfast. We stayed the 21 July 2016.
When we first got here, we had a room that was facing some construction, which obstructed our view of the water, so we were able to upgrade (for a fee) to the Presidential Suite (it was the top suite in any case that had a completely private wrap-around balcony). We are really glad we did the upgrade because we would otherwise have had construction workers looking in at us for the whole length of our stay. Breakfast is great, the parking situation is pretty handy (there's a valet service and they are attentive when you pull up, so you don't have to stand there waiting in your car). And it's just a short walk to the center of Genoa. I would recommend this place, I imagine the situation is much better in the standard rooms at this point in time (I imagine the construction is completed by now).
The service was very good. Staff helps you in a very pleasant way. The room had all you asks for. Breakfast really was first class. We had lunch there and we were very satisfied. It was easy to walking to the city center.
On our way to and from Cinque Terre, we stayed at Melia Genova. The hotel is a combination of classic old world elegance and modern amenities. We had a junior suite on both nights, which had wonderful street side balconies It is located very near to where you would want to to walk to take in what one wants to see in Genoa. The staff was warm and gracious and the breakfast spectacular.
This hotel is certainly worth its pricey penny per night. Service is excellent, very clean, lots of little comforts like dressing gowns (lovely and big and cozy), slippers, plenty of towels, toiletries (and they come around and offer you more). Double room bed is king size and very comfortable, crisp sheets. Only downside was the air conditioning in the room, it was so hot! Even when I turned it way down, it did not take the temperature down at all. Breakfast is really good with a great selection of anything you can think of really. Mini bar well stocked. Location is great, with Restaurants and bars very nearby. Their cocktails are fantastic, it is made so expertly and with such love and care. The vibe of the bar is one of Prohibition era and the cocktail glasses and decoration reflect this too and also the music they play in back ground. They even bring you a complimentary little snack platter which is quite filling and tasty AND also nuts olives etc! all complimentary when you are having drinks, this was a great touch. Would definitely recommend to others, even for a leisurely stay.
Meliá Genova was indeed a five-star experience. We stayed for only one night and we had the most wonderful time. The hotel is very well located, it’s just a few minutes from the historical center of the city, and yet a perfect recluse, where you can have a peaceful night without any disturbs. Apart from the spacious and modern rooms, which were fully equipped (they even had a television inside the mirror of the bathroom), one of the most special moments of our experience at the Meliá Genova was, undoubtedly, the incredible dinner. The Blue Lounge & Restaurant has served us a brilliant selection of both traditional Italian dishes as well as some of the best Italian wines. We concluded our fantastic dinner with three amazing cocktails prepared with a twist. The bartender asked us if we preferred their exceptional and unique cocktails rather than the conventional ones, to which we responded for the special versions without hesitation. At the bar, they offer a menu with a very long list of conventional cocktails, always with an option for a twisted and distinctive version. For instance, we had a “Santiago Mule” rather than the traditional one “Moscow Mule”. Rather than vodka, lime juice ginger beer, and fresh ginger, our “Santiago Mule” had pisco, lime juice, basil syrup, ginger beer, fresh ginger and fresh basil. Needless to say, it was a sophisticated adaption, which we have loved and want to repeat. Our biggest advice regarding the Blue Lounge & Restaurant is that even those who are not staying at the Meliá hotel for the night should experience the marvelous food and should definitely have the full experience, from the antipasti to the twisted cocktails.
Had a great 3 day stay - friendly staff, great food and super location. Would certainly recommend this hotel and we look forward to a return visit. We enjoyed the leisure facilities -- great pool and gym.
