Extremely friendly and accommodating staff! Very clean & comfortable rooms! Valet parking was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was OUTSTANDING! Beautiful rooftop restaurant and bar! What a relaxing place! Wish we stayed there longer!

Rooms vary within same category so pick carefully! Some rooms are larger, bigger bathrooms and have bathtubs. Also higher floor rooms have more light!

Will gladly stay again. Beautiful hotel, great staff, lovely location

The location is very good, is very close to everything and right infront of the train station

Wonderful elegant room! Fantastic breakfast! Wonderful surroundings!

Nice hotel in great location next to train station.

this historic hotel was in good shape with quiet rooms and good views. I just wished if it had a better business center.

The location is amazing, across from the train station and near the key tourist spots, yet quiet (we got a room off the street side.) Old Europe elegance, restaurant and bar service on site, and we cannot say enough about how helpfulness and knowledge of the staff. We are seasoned travelers and not easily impressed, but this hotel was great. The online agency price was a significant discount on the rate posted on the door.

We stayed at The Grand Hotel Savoia for 2 nights. It was in a great location...practically across the street from the Principe train station. You can hop on the Metro and get into the Centro within 5 minutes, but really, you can walk. The room was beautiful....very well maintained, luxurious in it's way. We found it very comfortable. The breakfast buffet ( at 12 euro) was good. The staff was good too. I would have liked to use the spa, but there wasn't enough time. I recommend this hotel and will stay there again

We've stayed at this hotel twice because we were arriving by train and it's a two minute walk from the station. It's also just a half-hour walk to the opera house, historic center and main shopping areas. It's not really a five star hotel (more like a four star), but then the cost isn't like a five star. It's a lovely old building but not entirely well-maintained. The staff, however, are very nice - in particular the breakfast room staff. This time, when we arrived, reception had us down for a standard room when we had booked an executive room, but they were nice about it and quickly made an adjustment when we showed them our receipt and they had our room ready by 2:00 pm. For convenience, this is a particularly good choice if you're arriving by train.

I needed a night of R&R between a holiday in Italy and business trip to Romania. This is a lovely hotel just a few steps from the train station.

I had a very nice 2-night stay at the Grand Hotel Savoia. I was in Genoa for work and chose this hotel to ensure a comfortable stay and to have a nice weekend with my fiancé after my meetings, as he was traveling with me as well, so I was here both for business and traveling as a couple. Although the hotel is right next to Piazza Principe and the train station, we didn't have any problems with noise, so there's no need to worry about that. I got a great deal the day before my departure at 130 a night for a classic double room. The location is great for both public transport and walking; you can walk right down via Balbi by the university and to the historic center in 15-20 minutes. If you haven't been to Genoa before, I strongly suggest asking the desk for directions, as even maps can be deceiving (Genoa is full of steep hills and sometimes finding the right "salita" (stairway/route upward) or elevator (the ascensore is your best friend here!) can be difficult. We stayed in a classic double room, which was very clean and comfortable. Perks: sky tv, free wi-fi (which actually worked!), complimentary bottled water for our arrival, and a fantastic shower/tub. The bathroom was very large for Italian hotels, equipped with everything we needed. Drawbacks: The air conditioning only worked sporadically (maybe 2 hours out of the 2 days we were there), but the window all but fixed the problem, as we only had one hot day. The only hiccup we had in our stay was caused by a staff error at check-in. I had originally booked a stay for only one night but added a second night in the same room before my arrival at the hotel. Upon check-in, I double-checked with the desk to make sure I was checked in for both nights instead of just the one. Although the receptionist confirmed that indeed I was checked in for both, the key stopped working and all the lights went out in our hotel at check-out time following the first night of our stay. This was not that big of a deal but was a bit annoying given that I had made the effort to make sure we were squared away from the outset, and that I was there for work, and the staff mistake meant I had to stop working in order to go down to the desk and get it sorted out, again, in person. Other than that, the staff were for the most part quite friendly and held our bags for a few hours after check-out so that we could enjoy the city freely before our departure. Bottom line: Great location, super accessible for getting around & in/out of Genoa, very clean and comfortable.

The hotel was beautiful and the hotel staff friendly and helpful; however, I would not recommend any of the spa services. The spa itself is very nice, but access is a bit over-priced. The hotel does not offer services (i.e. massage, facials, ect.) but contracts the work to a company that provides services to various facilities. The pedicure and facial I received were both sub-par and expensive, to the tune of 90 euros for the facial and 45 for the pedi. Otherwise, the amenities were what I would expect from a 4 star hotel, and the restaurant was excellent.

was forced to check out due to terrible experience at hotel

This was our first visit to Genoa and we were so pleasantly surprised by both the city of Genoa and even more so by the Hotel Savoia. We arrived by train which made the savoia's location ideal as it is literally across the street from Principi Station. The staff was courteous and professional and very helpful with maps and suggestions of where to visit and see. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the Rolli palaces, Plazzao Reale, the port, Christopher Colimbus house , the Duomo. The Hotel was beautifully appointed with a very lovely sitting area and bar an in house restaurant and an excellent trattoria next door. The breakfast was sumptuous with a selection of anything you can possibly want set within a beautifully decorated dining room. Our room was very comfortable with excellent amenities We truly enjoyed our three days in Genoa and the Grand hotel Savoia!

Great hotel just steps from the train station with an incredible breakfast where you can sit on the rooftop (7th) fl. overlooking the city. Made to order eggs, omelets as well as a great selection of fruits, granola and yogurt toppings. Bed had excellent sheets and ranked up there with the best beds I've had anywhere. Location is a bit gritty towards the train station area, but Genoa is sort of a gritty city. 10 min walk to the aquarium and seafront area. Good value restaurant trattoria adjacent as well as other nearby pizza style restaurants.

the beautiful hotel is but steps away from the main Genoa train station. It appears that the hotel was recently renovated and they managed to modernize with any loss of a "grand hotel" tradition.

We stayed two nites. the location is great because of its proximity to the train station .The staff were polite and courteous, but failed to give us the requested wake up call the morning . We almost missed our early flight. We asked them twice. (We had an alarm clock which broke on the trip)!. Our room rate included breakfast. They have promised to set up a light breakfast for us that AM..but..there was nothing..(we would not had the time anyway because of the missed wake up call. We just had to rush out of the hotel. Other than that it was a comfortable stay.

This hotel is amazing! The rooms a clean comfortable and have the most character than i have ever experienced in a hotel to date. There is an amazing restaurant on the 7th floor with the most delicious food and an unbeatable view. It is also ideally located to the train station and you can't hear it we stayed on the first floor. We would definitely return to this hotel and hope to sometime in the near future.

This is a beautiful hotel located within walking distance of the train station and the port. We stayed overnight while awaiting a cruise departing from the port which is a 5 minute cab ride away. The room had a king size bed with a sofa bed which our 14 year old daughter slept in very comfortably. The floor to ceiling windows were equipped with electronic shutters outside to keep out the street lights from the room. The room was very roomy and well equipped. The hotel provided complimentary bottled water. Breakfast was included in our rate and the restaurant was located on the top floor with a balcony that wrapped around and offered great views of the port and city. In addition there is a side trattoria that offers great lunch. It was a great stay and I would highly recommend this hotel
