The piano player during dinner was the best! My dinner was exceptional I ordered the special that night. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room had roses and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our anniversary. The grounds are beautiful, picture perfect. The highlight was sitting on the bluff and watching the sunrise. We grabbed a coffee and apple bread from the parlor at 6:30 and went straight out to watch the sunrise over the Seneca Lake and it was perfect. My only disappointment was that so much of the interior of the home had been gutted and lost to make room for hotel rooms. I had my heart set on seeing a grand stair case or large dinning room or something from the historical period that it was built in. Sadly there was very little to see. Still I think I will be back. That sunrise got me! It is the perfect location.

Way overpriced for what you get. Otherwise a good experience.

Quiet secluded location with clean, well maintained garden. We stayed at the townhouse which had 2br 1.5bath with a full kitchen. I was taken aback by the antiquated furniture and kitchen appliances. The carpet and curtains were just as old and tasteless. It felt like walking into an apartment that was furnished 30 years ago. For the price of the stay, I expected things to be a bit more updated and the decor to be more elegant. It was disappointing to say the least. Doubt I’ll be going back to stay there.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are cute. Breakfast was delicious.

The property is beautiful! Love the rooms but the carpet could use updating.

Gorgeous views and attentive staff make this a calming getaway.

Beautiful tired property. Over priced for quality of room. Needs updating if you’re going to spend that kind of money. Would not recommend.

Nice location and view of lake the grounds well kept staff friendly helpful the food good

Very cute and cozy hotel with great view of Seneca Lake. Hotel staff is super friendly!

My spouse and I traveled to the Finger Lakes primarily to visit the local wineries. We wanted luxurious accommodations and found them at the Geneva on the Lake Resort.

About the best hotel I have ever stayed at, truly eligent. I was in a two bedroom suite. There was plenty of room. The furniture was very nice, contributing to a very relaxed atmosphere. The complimentary breakfast and wine tasting were tasty and . The location -- right on the lake and near the college -- was beautiful and central. I loved the classical style of the grounds. I would definitely stay here again. yes it is more than a two star hotel, but life is worth it and this is a good value.

Hotel was great[...]. It would have been cheaper to deal directly with the hotel

The hotel was selected for its view of Lake Seneca and as a one night getaway to take in some wineries. Upon arrival, we were greeted immediately and the receptionist even tried to find a room upgrade for us! However, there was no availability for the evening. We stayed in a studio room with a wonderful view of the lake and the gardens. The room was on the third floor, no elevator if needed. The room was small but arranged very well and included a complete kitchen. The bed was a murphy bed and one of the housekeeping staff came in while we were at dinner and prepared the bed for the evening, candy and a message "Sweet Dreams". We had dinner at the inn's restaurant, which was wonderful! A continental breakfast comes with all of the guest rooms and was not only delicious but plentiful. It was served on the patio on a beautiful summer morning. My husband and I walked the grounds the afternoon that we checked in. They are beautiful! They have croquet and volleyball set up for guests to play. There is an outdoor swimming pool to enjoy. The inn is very close to the town of Geneva, which was lovely to see. It is close to many of the wineries on the wine trail. A highlight was going to the gorge at Watkins Glen State Park! The walk through the gorge, stairway to guide you, was unbelievable. We ended our trip at Bull Hill Winery with lunch on the terrace. All in all a wonderful overnight adventure.

This time of year the sunrise is amazing. It comes up at the perfect time especially while enjoying a cup of coffee. I am sorry for your disappointment in not being able to experience the space as it once was. I would encourage you to possibly look at our Library Suite as an option for your future stay. It may not have the grand staircase you are looking for but it is the library from when it was originally a home, and has maintained much of the original features. Sincerely, Kristin Welch

We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your time with us. Over the past year we've been working on updating both our suites and the property as a whole, though I know that can be difficult to see with the onslaught of rain we've had. If there is anything specific about your stay you would like to speak to someone about, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We hope that you will choose to come back in the future so that we may have a chance to change your mind. Thank you for your feedback.
